@ Bishie: Yes! Laptop! I love mine. Although I must warn you that they often have less disk space than your average desktop. I filled my lappy to the brim with music, I did. *hugs Danny-the-laptop*
Congratulations on the laptop! For the holidays, or have you been saving for awhile?
@ Ehnvy: Woot! Your list! I'm glad. You've already got a good headstart, too. :pirate:
You've got Meyer on your list! We've been trying to steer the conversation away from her, but she inevitably comes up... You'll probably see a discussion or two.
*fit of the giggles*

Thank you :) The funny thing is, the thickest book on my list is at 754 pages...however the Maya prophecy book only has 334 but a REALLY tiny font. If the font was one or two pixels bigger I'm sure it would surpass 800 pages easily D: I usually don't like books with such tiny fonts but the premise of the book is really interesting >.<
And thank you^^
@Aislin, heh I finally succumbed to the craze, and what can I say? It's lovely, the way she writes has me understand the book and everything SO easily even though I read it in english and its not my mother language xD
I read the first 2 books within 5 days O_o

Ehnvy: Oh, good! You've read The Host! I liked that book a lot more than the Twilight books. :3 Her writing really shined through in that book.
Aislin: The one I'm getting has 160gb, which is about what most desktops will come with. ^^ It also has 2gb of RAM, so I'm happy for that. XD It's actually better than my current desktop (which, granted, is almost five years old. *laughs*).

No no, I haven't read them yet, I'll mark the books with color once I've read them and there's no way I'll stick to that order, lol. I'll probably read The Host right after I'm done with Twilight. Hopefully her writing hasn't changed to the extend where I'm better off reading the german version >.<

@ Bishie: Oooh, that sounds like a shiny laptop! I especially like that it has commendable RAM qualifications. I tend to use a lot of finicky programs at once... Photoshop CS2, music, firefox and Chrome both, BitTorrent. It's all a pile of explode, really.
You'll have to let us know when you get it! And post from it. We could have a Laptop Warming Party. :P
Although hopefully not literally, since you're bound to have good fans.
@Ehnvy: Hopefully you'll likeThe Host! I have to agree with Bishie on this one, the writing is much improved. Not to the extent that you'll need a big dictionary, or anything-- just the style.
You'll notice a few similar characters/ plot devices, though. Like that whole Triangle Thing. It shows up.

Aislin: XD That was an amazing joke, I have to say.
I should get it Monday, and I will be sure to have the first post from it be here.
I dislike Google Chrome. My friend said it was so much faster, but when I used it, it was actually slower than IE. :\ I use IE 7.0 and, sometimes, Firefox (what can I say? I like the Greasemonkey scripts).
Ah, yeah, I noticed some redundant plot devices as well. If you really look for it, you start to notice that Wanderer is a bit of a recycled character of Bella. Not to the point where it's super obvious, but they share some traits. I like the concept, though. ^^

Oh yes, I did notice the triangle by it's premise at the back cover of the book^^ It's like the JacobyBellaEdward situation all over again. And yeah, the teen angst gets a bit heavy at times but the action makes up for it. Funnily enough my favourite character is Emmet even though in the past 2 books he's rarely been mentioned compared to the other characters. I just like the huge, buff guys who while they look dangerous are upbeat and Emmet has a nice sense of humor :]
Will he be mentioned more often in the 3rd or 4th book? I'm hoping for it, but not really expecting it D:

And I love Alice, too! She's definitely the kind of friend I'd love to have, but you know..without being treated like a three dimensional barbie doll >.>

*laughs* My friend treats me like that. It's ridiculous. Whenever we go shopping, we spend half the time with her just having me try on things I know I'm never going to buy just because she thinks it will look cute on me.
I love Jacob. I hated all the main charas until the last book, and then I really liked Jacob. Still hate Edward, though.

I'm unsure about Edward, he seems so genuinely in love and protective, yet whenever I think I made up my mind to like him he goes ahead and does something stupid. I do like the banter between him and Bella, it seems real and I'm glad the author didn't go down the route where Bella would say yes and amen to everything Edward does. I'm not sure if I'll ever make up my mind on his char x3
And I love Jacob, too even though he, too can act quite like an asshole, he's a close second as far as favourite characters go.
And I am extremely annoyed at the mutual stubborness to hate each other Jacob and Edward share. Urgh, makes me want to bitch slap both of them!
And thankfully I don't have friends like that, it'd be too annoying xD Mine know when to back off xD

Bishie: I agree, the concept was really good! The characters also seemed a lot more... human? There were a few stock characters, but I genuinely got caught up in the narrative and the fate of the main group. I definitely predicted the "twist," though. :P
I love Google, and I love Firefox... so I basically feel like a child of divorce, and am trying to use both browsers equally.
@ Ehnvy and also Bishie because we're all talking about the same things really...: Emmet does have a great sense of humour! That really comes out in the draft that Meyer put up of Midnight Sun, too. It almost makes up for the tedium of Edward's inner monologue. :headdesk:
The series has something that keeps people back, definitely, or it wouldn't be so ubiquitous. I think that something might be Alice. Possibly Jacob.
I'm considering a New Year's resolution along the lines of,
"1. Do not waste oxygen, space, eye-power, electric light, or time by rereading Twilight books."
They sit there on the shelf, and I reread everything... but this is a matter of self-respect.

Lmao, that made me laugh so hard Aislin. I am embarrassed at how caught up I got during reading the first two books. It went so far that I spent 2 hours in the bathroom being totally engrossed reading until my mom complained and I was mortified when I realised the time.
That's why I actually took a couple days break before I started the 3rd book recently. I can honestly say I never was engrossed in a book like this before. I love to finally experience that and I'm definitely reading The Host once I finish Twilight xD

Aislin: Is that the book she's doing from Edward's POV? I do not want to read that. Edward is whiny and annoying and I really don't care what he thinks.
I agree with you, though. The characters in The Host definitely felt more real. I predicted the twist too, but...you know....XD It was still good.
Ehnvy: I really can't stand Edward because 1) He's waaaaay too protective. 2) He's annoying. He's hundreds of years old and still acts like a small child. 3) He's got no personality. He would have made an okay background character, but as a main character, he is severely lacking.
XD I locked myself in my bedroom for half the day finishing the second and third one. It was so weird when I came out...my eyes hurt and I couldn't look at bright lights. The first thing I said was, "This is what babies must feel like!" My dad looked at me like I was nuts. XD
On a totally unrelated note, I've often wondered why people talk in chat speak on sites like this where you earn more gold for posting longer messages. I mean, I will deliberately type out words I normally put into acronyms for the simple reason that I get more gold that way. Do you think they fail to realize this? It seems pretty obvious to me.

I have no idea about the chatspeak users and I have to admit that I'm guilty of immediately thinking someone to be stupid when they use it. Stupid or lazy. I make it a point to spell out words and while I'm prone to typos I at least make an effort and it's downright silly how on some sites and in some games my english is far better than some of the native english speakers english *facepalms*
And I think Edward lost his personality when he fell in love with Bella. He thinks, lives and breathes Bella at the expanse of losing his individuality. It's tragic really. Poor sod.

XD Oh, God, I know what you mean. His and Bella's relationship is not healthy. I liked him better in the begining, when he was an ass.
I'm guilty of the same thing. I'm definitely less likely to take someone seriously when they're typing in chat speak/using poor grammar. One that really gets to me...typos in RP requests. I understand that typos are going to happen (I make them constantly), but the edit button is right there. It's not hard to reread your posts and edit them if necessary.
I can't stand typos. I always edit my posts if I spot one.

It's even worse on e-mail or PMs. D: I always want to message the person again with the little correction.

@... you know... you guys:
Ah, chatspeak. I try to avoid it like the plague, and I claim it's because I love English. In part, it is. But it's also because I'm just not very good at chatspeak. The first time I ever read it, I saw "LMAO" and thought, "Llama? What?"
Now I get the basic ones, though. :P
Half of the time, I forget about the gold-bit of Menewsha. It just... shows up. Because I talk too much. I wish real life were like that-- someone paying me to be easily distracted.
Yay, Ehnvy, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I confess to violently disliking Edward. But, look at it this way-- at least he's dead?
I also confess that I too spent huge chunks of hours reading the books when I should have been studying for A.P. U.S. History. Alexander Hamilton would be ashamed. And imagining the founding fathers reading Twilight gives me a huge case of the giggles.
Midnight Sun is the Edward Perspective Book. And it is Evil. But that's okay, because Meyer has decided to never publish it.

Oh and do you happen to know which store sells the Panda Headphones? I'm playing around with the MAC thingy and the headphones are just made of awesome xD
