Some manga
A retelling of Beauty and the Beast (Belle)--(I love retold fairy tales because I studied fairy tales in one of my Psych classes)
Wild Orchid--which is a retelling of the Ballad of Mulan
Moving Targets and Other Tales of Valdemar (big fan of Mercedes Lackey)
Alcatraz Versus The Evil Librarians (almost entirely because of the title)
Before Midnight--a retelling of Cinderella
I, Q (the first in a series)

@shadow - what manga?
also, the belle, wild orchid, before midnight, etc. i was eying that series, so you must tell me if it's good.
and the alcatraz vs the evil librarians looks amusing. :3

ps.
i just finished the manhwa "president dad" and it was so incredibly weird and wtf-ish.
i was so not expecting it to turn out like it did.
but
OH MY GOD IT WAS SO SAD.
i cried at the end.
that was the cruelest, most evilest, and horrifically upsetting manhwa series i've read.
even boy princess had a happy ending. (but i admit demon diary was a little fucked up.)
...
AUGH. now my brain is messed up from thinking about whatever the hell was going on.
seriously, there was some confusing shit in there. D:
NOW I NEED TO READ NOT-COMICS.

@Shadow: I was also eying the same books as leenie. If you finish them before I buy them, let me know how they are! ^_^

Tireth: I can't get to any of the conventions in the UK because I live in the North and they're always in London or Birmingham. :/

Cherry: Woo, Star Trek fans. My dad has randomly started fanatically following DS9 again so its on in the house all of the time. Q makes everything better. Even Voyager! Some of my parents original series books have ended up in my room so I might have to check them out.

+ My book had been posted I just didn't get the usual notification email. Oh well. I hope the postman still comes in the snow.

I haven't read Catcher in the Rye yet. I've tried to look into it multiple times, but I can never get any kind of a plot from the synopsis other than "a coming of age story." >>
Could someone who's read it tell me a little about it?

@kat - well gallifrey is in california, so it's at least two airplanes for you. :[
upsetting. now i feel kind of bad that there are at least four anime conventions within a five-hour drive of where i live. :/

@catcher in the rye - i always heard that it was a pretty boring book with mary sue characters. :/
someone tell me what the most interesting parts are? |D

Well, i just Finished reading the first of Wilbur Smiths Egyptian novels, 'River God'.

I exaggerate none when i say every page was brilliant. All 662 of them!
Being a massive fan of Egyptology and Ancient history this was the first fiction I've read set in those times, and i think I've found a new love...I've bought 10 similar novels while reading River God...so my list is feeling full hehe.

Next up is book two, 'Seventh Scroll', yaya!

@Cherry: It isn't the Star Trek one, although I know what you're talking about:)
@leenie and Dream: I've liked most of the other books in the series, so I'm hopeful about these.

Cherry:: It was totally good. ^^
I couldn't put it down once I got past the beginning. o.o I stayed up last night reading it like an addict cause I was almost at the end. XD

white text -->
I SO wanted Jennifer to kill John Nike. D< He was such a total and complete bastard. I mean, not only cruel, but like insane- as long as it'd get him what he wanted. D: And she could have done it too, at the end, she could have shoved him over the railing and made it look accidental. >_>;; But that would have been bad I guess. :roll: Still, she's spent the majority of the book stalking him and trying to kill him, I don't get why she took the moral high horse right when she actually could've accomplished the task. =_=
And then in the epilogue, after all the shit he pulled, he only got twelve years in prison. D:
That's less than a year for each person he had capped.

DAMNIT, CHERRY. >:[
YOU MADE ANGEL CALL ME TIRE. ;_;

pffftt what battle royale are you looking at?
624 pages.
also, lol, bn titled it as "vol 1". no more volumes~~

so as of now, it's inkheart, jennifer government, good omens, hhgg, and battle royale.
and i will probably read stories from my anthologies in between for breaks and such.
