All you wolf people, you ought to read Jane Lindskold's Firekeeper saga, which starts with Through Wolf's Eyes. Along with the Sight, those are my favorite wolf-centered books. <3

@Aislin: Haha no problem. Don't you love it when you find out an author you like wrote other books that you might really like. xD
@Iltu: That looks really good, I think I'll pick it up at the library... I think I heard DB talking about adapting that. xD

@Blaze and Dream: Gambit is my favorite. When I found out he was in this movie I ran around screaming and scared my cat. LOL
@Aislin: I don't mind. Bare in mind, I wrote these a few years ago usually for specific people who requested certain things... just a warning, the second link is a slash archive, so if you don't like that, you might want to avoid: fanfiction.net, thehexfiles

@Shadow: At Otakon this year my friend is going as Gambit. XD
He's my favorite as well, though DayTripper does kick some major, as-pirations... She had great aspirations in ruling Limbo. xD

The DB movie was actually good, granted I'm not a fan and don't really remember anything of the cartoon. But the people I went with are huge fans and they enjoyed it a lot. It's worth a watch.
Aislin & Ithu:: *Gasp* O.o people that have actually read the book that are not in my English class! Yeah I've heard it is a really emotional book, everyone that I've talked to has said that it made them cry like babies. XD

@cherry - goodness, you are rainbow-y. :3
@shadow - it's the same sort of reason i had to watch the t*witches movie(s); i knew they were going to kill the books and be generally awful, but i was just too curious to see where they went.
@blaze - can anyone else play wolverine now?
except for, you know, if they want to make more x-men movies a few decades from now. XD
@kat - it was either that or hexwood. (but i think it was time of the ghost because hexwood doesn't have ghosts. XD)
@aislin - i've seen baloney, but haven't read it. :[
math curse is one of my favourite books, but i have yet to read the science one. D:
well i grew up on them as well, but i was thinking really early childhood. under 10. XD
@dani - but... april fool's is fish-slappin' day.
well. just make sure it doesn't have spikes.
PARTIALLY NAKED HUGH JACKMAN?? <333333
and. and. and. gambit is in it?
teeheeheeheehee.
DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU AND KIM DID TO ME???
@iltu - it's in my blood to travel. and all of them were domestic flights. @[email protected]
of course i enjoyed seeing the places. one was coming down to where we live now to check out houses, another was going back up to where we used to live to visit friends and go to a convention, then a few months later, i went again to visit them again, there was the two-legged one-way trip i told you about earlier while we were moving down here, and the last round trip... i forget. mom told me last night. D:
southwest is my favourite airline our of the major ones, mostly because they are fun and just in general, they are better.
ps.
ohmahgawdddd.
i am watching the newer star wars trilogy and it gets more ridiculous the more i watch.
well. the first trilogy was ridiculous, too, but we can pass that off on insane 70s silliness. XD

Shadowfoot:  I'm an old pro when it comes to thehexfiles, actually. Although I did eventually abandon it in favour of lomonaaeren's lj. If you've free time and are browsing around hex, my favorite story therein was "Draco's Boy." It's AU, which I usually cannot abide by (why is everyone so obsessed with transforming Draco Malfoy into some kind of new Billy Idol?), but it's beautifully well-written and kind of all around heart breaking.
We should trade recs.
I'm adding your author pages to my bookmarks.
EDIT: Whooo! You've read it! And a thousand others which I love yay! :glomp: (your fave list :P )
Dream: Very true! Although I always feel a little silly, too, for taking so long to notice that, "Hey! That's the same author!" Usually those epiphanies happen verbally, in bookstores, with a cadre of people on hand to roll their eyes at me. I ain't the brightest crayon, y'know?
I'll let you know when I finish the series! I'm going to look for it in my school library next week.
@Stormy: Not only did it make me cry like a baby, it made me cry like a baby who had just stubbed her toe after watching her mother die. :(
And, yet, I loved the book.
Really, really tearfully loved the stupid evil wonderful book that made me cry like a little girl. You could say it's emotionally taxing. Let me know when you've finished!
Text in white, for those who have finished A Thousand Splendid Suns --> I LOVED Miriam, and reading the ending... agh. That tore me in two. There is a movie scheduled to be made, and I don't think I'll be able to actually watch it.
@Leenie: :glomp: How has the bookstore been, of late? And life? And your reading habits? And general state of happiness?
Heee... oh, it gets worse as you go along... wait until Padame gets to her, "You're breaking my heart!" line.
I laughed... gleefully and with a relish.
Still fun to watch.
@Everyone in general: Woot! I saw the XMen trailer when I went to see State of Play tonight!
And the final Harry Potter HBP trailer is out! :boogie:

Actually... I'm really not sure they did. This one has more content, whereas the last one had more straightforward humor.
But I'm impatient for the movie... July 17!
You can find the trailer and a rundown of what it includes on Leaky.

I kinda liked the trailer.
My imagination is pretty bad with battle scenes, which is probably the only somewhat solid reason for me to see the Harry Potter movies.
I watched the trailer without sound (because I'm too lazy to get headphones) and it looks somewhat alright.
A fair amount of Draco there (^^) (he's one of my favorite characters)

Dream- they really are fantastic books! I read the first five last year, and I own all six, but I don't want it to end! DX I'm going to reread them all and finish the last one *sad sigh* this summer.
And in addition to owning them all in paperback, I own two in hardback... I'm not obsessed at all...
Jane Lindskold is a really fantastic author. I'm trying to read all of her books. I've read all but one of the Firekeeper saga, Child of a Rainless year, the Buried Pyramid, and Thirteen Orphans, the first book in the Breaking the Wall series. I am SO excited for the next book to come out in August! <3 But she has like, nineteen books or something, so I still have a fair ways to go. :gonk:
Stormy- Yeah, it is very emotional, and I'm fairly sure I did cry! I need to read Kite Runner soon... Two of my friends have told me it's really good, but they like A Thousand Splendid Suns better. Then again, they're both girls, and A Thousand Splendid Suns is more about the struggle of women before anything else, so perhaps that's why? Plus, it's just a really great book.
Leenie- That sounds fantastic! I wish I could travel more, but that's not an open option to me. DX Curse it!
I've only even been on Southwest and Delta, but I do like Southwest better. Even though they delayed our flight and didn't explain why. o_o And also didn't tell us we weren't going to be on a direct flight.
Augh, HBP trailer? D: I hate the Harry potter movies. ;_; The first two were good, but since then... Bleh! And still I will go see it. XD

Question in white text (highlight it to read-- I didn't want to spoil anything for anyone)...
--> Does anyone think that they will cry at the end of this movie? I sobbed like a little girl at the end of Book 6.
I'm no great fan of Gambon's, so I'm worried about how his portrayal of Dumbledore will be... And I'm curious to see whether Rickman will add any nuance to the way that he portrays Snape's character, given his role at the end of the movie.
I wonder if they'll have the scene from Spinner's End, with the Unbreakable Vow? It seems too important to leave out... but then again, I thought the Marauders were pretty important to Prisoner of Azkaban.

Answer to Aislin: Highlight (I'm not sure if I'll include spoilers so yea... )
Um. I probably will cry.
I'm pretty okay with Dumbledor's actor. If he doesn't portray his death well... then I don't know. It'll just be another thing that makes the book so much better. Wait, this is the book/movie where he dies, right?
I rather like Snape's actor. I think he'll do very well. (^^)
They do seem to leave a lot out and a lot of the time it seems important.
I don't think they'll leave the vow out but they've surprised me before.
I think. I haven't read the books or seen the movies in a while.
I will be reading and watching before the movie comes out.

:P  Yep! Then you add in the essays and reviews you have to write and the T-shirts you feel compelled to buy... it gets messy.
To Fan is To Be... really OCD, I think. But I like it.
At least the movies usually come out in the summer, Sinister! That way, when you're in the theatre, part of the money you pay to see the film is well spent on theatre air-conditioning. :)
@Massage: (highlight)
I like Alan Rickman too... and, judging from everything I've seen him in, he'll do really well with the final scene. He's a pretty dynamic performer.
I'll probably do a movie-marathon beforehand, too. Actually, ABC is airing the movies, in order, every Saturday starting tonight-- Sorceror's Stone will be playing at 8.00 o'clock Eastern, according to the Leaky Cauldron. :)

Aislin- (Hilight to read, just incase.)
I cried for half an hour at the end of HBP, enough so that my mom, who doesn't read Harry Potter, got pissed at JKR for what she did. But I don't like what's-his-face wither, so the movie verson will likely not effect me.
I ADORE Alan Rickman, so I'm sure he'll do a fantastic job. And I'll be very angry if they leave out the Unbreakable Vow! They always leave out the good stuff.

@ Aislin, Iltu, and Dream_and_Die: (in white, just in case..) I cried during OotP (Sirius) and I absolutely bawled during the events in question. I'm not usually a crier, but my heart absolutely broke for Harry.
Alan Rickman is amazing...it took a lot of skill to get me to do a 180 like I did on Snape.
I'd better get a move on with my 50 book challenge; I'm only in the 30s and I only have four months left to go!
Is anyone getting close to, or have already met, their goal? Has anyone surpassed their goal?
