No problem Vitorai! I like helping people when I can, it doesn't happen very often. xD
Also, the post number link will bring up just your post on a separate page, if you don't want all the surrounding posts. I meant to add that before.

I'll have a go at this challenge then, and I will assume this'll be the place where I list everything.
I'll also let Knerd know about this post :)

I am starting of with 'The Hollow People' by Brian Keaney
I'm finding it interesting so far.

actually, it doesn't make up for the rest of the fail.
but it's a start. XD

and let me know how much the hotel is.
you still owe me $15. >:3
and then however much the white fabric i use is.
also, i am going to start on my costume instead of yours first for two reasons:
a) i haven't done any sewing in forever, so if i mess up, i don't want to be killing your unforgiving costume.
b) i have another con coming up in a month, which i am actually hoping to make a completely different costume for, but i'm pretty sure i won't be able to, but still i want to try. D:

so one, maybe two costumes before yours, but that'll mean that i don't have as many accidents. :3

zaniel, you may want to pm knerd with your post permalink, since it's not your first post in the thread. :]

@leenie: I never said all the fail. It's a start.
Go ahead and do yours first. Just don't forget my gloves!! xD Uhm I guess I'll get the hotel, send you your portion then you can minus the $15? If you're done using the muslin by then you can minus that from it as well. ^_^ If not I'll pay you for that when you come up.

what did we agree for your dress?
attached band at the bottom and roby part open?

ps.
i totally want to make this for a-kon since marty will be there, but i am unsure about the whole massive amounts of gold detailing thing.
i may just make a couple edaniel plushies. (one to give to marty, of course.)

Just went to Borders today and got caught by the 'Buy one get one half off' counter -__- That table is always a trap for me and I'm never sure if the books I get are good or bad. I've gotten some pretty dooseys from there.

Anyway, I've got the next 4 books for when I'm done with Wit'ch Star (which should be next week). After getting a bit closer to the end, I started thinking I didn't want to finish it. I'm predicting something really bad happening at the end ;_; I'm worried.

@Iltu: I rather liked Green Angel. Hoffman has a penchant for symbolic metaphors and fantasy realism, so I enjoy her work.

Vitorai- I thought that such a reaction on behalf of Green was natural rather than emo- I can't imagine one would be acting normal or happy or some such thing after their whole family died. Or were you just talking about the plot in general, not Green's behavior?

You know, I actually had a cousin who couldn't finish it because it was so very sad, come to think of it...

Shadowfoot- I'm not great at picking up on symbolism or metaphors, but I whole-heartedly agree with her being a genius at fantasy realism. She really blurs the line, it's almost hard to not beleive that every detail of the story could very potentially happen.

Speaking of sad books, has anyone ever finished Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee?
I can't do it. Honestly I keep trying but I just can't. I talked to one of my professors and he can't finish it either. It's an amazing book, just amazingly sad as well.

I read too many books at once... then forget... then go on a reading spree... then tapper off and forget... again... and remember... and repeat.

Oo~
Suite Scarlett doesn't sound bad -- what's it about?

The Foretelling? That doesn't sound too bad either -- what's that one about?

Side note - I finished the entire House of Night series AS WELL as the Blue Bloods Series~
Now I'm on pins and needles waiting for Oct, when the 4th Blue Bloods novel comes out and the 6th House of Night series to come out~
I've also just begun the Vampire Academy series and will be on pins and needles I'm sure waiting for August when the 4th book comes out once I finish these 3 xD
-sigh-
Summer's going to be filled with book reading~
Not only with the books I already own, but the 6th book of Vampire Kisses comes out in July I believe :3 - I JUST WIKI'ED IT AND IT'S COMING OUT MAY 19TH!!! <3333333

Oh Vampire Kisses!
I don't really like that series that much but I started it, so I feel the need to finish it. xD

Have you tried the Morganville Vampire series? The first one is Glass Houses and they're by Rachel Caine.
They're about this girl Claire Danvers and she's a college freshman who's being horribly mistreated on campus so she moves off campus, and into this imposing old house with two boys and a girl. Her roommates keep to them selves, especially the young musician who is absent in the daylight hours, but they help her when the towns ugly secrets rear their undead heads.

The 6th one is coming out in august. xD That's what reminded me.
Caine also has this really awesome Weather Wardens series. ^_^

Overall I like her writing more then Ellen Schreiber. Schreiber holds to close to the typical "vampire story." I should add that Morganville Vampires deviates from that outline I made. XD

i still want to read the glasshouse series.
and maaaaaybe bluebloods.
and i have the first of the house of night series, but i just... haven't gotten around to reading it yet. D:

and then there's this longing to finish the vampire kisses, but i'll go for that once they're all out.

@massage - i know, i thought it was hysterical. :3

@Dream: Awww!
Really?
I rather liked it!
I mean sure, some parts were a bit cliche and were obvious occurances, but at other times you can really relate the characters 'cause you've been in situations similiar :3

Didn't you reccommend me Glasshouse?
-thought it was by a different author-
Or is this a totallyl different series?
Either way, no -- I haven't read it~
Sounds pretty good though!

I'm going to have to check into these books and get descriptions on Borders :3
-will add them to my list when my computer is charged- (on my mother's at the moment)

Yeah - I agree, she does stay to the typical story~
But when there's so much variety you've read, it's nice to have a little "refresher" of the good old original idea of Vampires :3
Or something close at least xD

@tireth: Blue Bloods is -amazing-~
It's about how based around the whole "Lucifer and his angels fell from the heavens" sort of thing that's in the bible (no disrespect to the bible, I just honestly have no idea what it's verse or whatever is called 'cause I've never been to church / read the bible and this is just what i've come to understand from the book ^.^; ) - and it's how they chose to become Vampires so they could try and redeam themselves in God's eyes and hopefully return back to Heaven~
But in it, there's this thing about Twins and Bonds and it makes the love interest realllyyyyyy complicated and hard to deal with T_T
-is still hoping they'll get together-

As for House of Night - it's -amazing- as well~
-completely- different than anything I've ever read on Vampires before~
However, a lot of the books are based around bloodlust and can be a bit detailed and such -- but over all it's pretty good~

I'm pretty sure the last one is coming out next month -- at least, Wiki didn't mention a 7th or anything~
We'll find out in just a few weeks though!! <3333
I honestly don't think they can do much more with it though - I mean, in this book, Raven's supposed to meet Alexander's family -- and they've kinda been out of the picture the entire series, and all of the other "drama"-type issues have already been talked about, so I think all that's left is this meeting and then it should be over~
I dont' think I could take it if I had to wait for another book :gonk: XD;

Dream- Oh, dear. I do not handle 'sad' well. XD But I'll still end up looking for that book.

Leenie- Good lord. :XD That is pure and epic win. Best depiction of Edward Cullen EVAR!

Except for maybe this.

Yuri- Suite Scarlett is about this girl who's parents own a deadbeat hotel from the 20's, and on their children's 15th birthday, they give them run of a suite in the hotel. Right after Scarlett is assigned the famed but seldom occupied Empire Suite, a long term, eccentric actress checks in and end up getting Scarlett in over her head. The book it's self was good, even though i didn't like the end.

The Fortelling was amazing. And it's very short, so it's no big time risk if someone happens to not like it. It's about ancient warrior women, and the main character is the queen's unwanted daughter Rain, who has every intention to become a powerful warrior and embody everything that her people are suposed to. But then she begins to get visions and encounters people and situations that cause her to question the way she lives, and these hesitations cause her people to start alienating her. It was a wonderful book, but also terribly sad.

@Iltu: I love the box part with James. XD
"How do I get out of here?!?" XD

@Yumi: Uhm... Did I recommend that to you before? I probably mentioned it during my last rant about vampire books. I don't think I went into detail though.

I guess I don't like Vampire Kisses because in school I was made fun of kind of like the main character but I don't like her so I don't like how she handles any of the situations she's in. Actually yeah, it's probably that I dislike her more then the series itself.
The problem with the cliches are, where's the originality? I like reading different books by different authors to get spins on the same subject. Though I do like that she used the soil bit. A lot of authors forget about that or just excluded it.
