I love the HarperHall series too, I honestly think she totally nailed the whole fantasy world/novel concept with the Pern books of that time period, Dragonsong, Dragonsinger, Dragondrums and Dragonquest. The rest were a bit disjointed and dry. I do however also really like her novel Moreta -- which got horrible reviews for some reason. (She did mess up a bit with the medical information, but I thought it was entertaining fiction, otherwise.)

Anne McCaffrey also didn't seem to know what to do with her characters once they uh, "got some". As soon as her characters became non-virginal (boys included) they were dull as dirt. Which is so weird, because her novel Crystal Singer has a main character who is aware of her sexuality and it is a strong novel. (My favorite out of all Anne's work.) Ah well.

Guivre - I completely agree with you on Anne McCaffrey. A lot of Anne's books are very dry. I haven't read Moreta but you reminded me that I do own it. XD I own a bunch of her books and I can't remember which ones I do have half the time.

I've read most of them, I just don't remember much from them except the Harper Hall books. Which goes to show how much I loved those books (and there's the fact I've read them 3 or 4 times...).

lol, the harper hall books were the first ones I read as well XD that was...omg....5 years ago lol. Well, then I kind of drifted off Anne McCaffrey into the sci-fi and fantasy books XD

Yeee! We're reading Macbeth in English classhat's only my favorite play EVER! *does a dance* I'm glad to have an excuse to read it again.

Best of luck, Ember and Ljos!

Ember- OH MY GOSH. You suck and Bite Me! I love those books. Christopher Moore is hilarious. :XD Have you read Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal? That's probably my favorite by him.
Also, that first book on your liat: the title is fascinating, did you like the book?

Iltu: Lamb is Moore's masterpiece! It's amazingly funny and very well done I think. I really love Dirty Job, too. Some of his earlier stuff is just kinda alright though. And yes I did like the Flora book, quite a bit. It's YA fantasy, so you have to like that genre to be into it, but I thought the author created a fantastic world to play inside and the main character (Flora, of course) is well-developed. I intend to read the sequel soon.

I finished another book yesterday called -

Chew : Taster's Choice - John Layman & Rob Guillory

It was an interesting graphic novel and I loved the art. I just don't know if I'll read the rest of the series when the books come out because the story creeped me out. XD

I'm reading The Carnivorous Carnival from "A Series of Unfortunate Events" by Lemony Snicket

The series is fun (for me). I wonder when I can finish the whole series. I've only finished 6/13 books from the series. I'm a really slow reader!

@Siti: I've only read the first four of that series as well. Mainly because the stores around here don't carry the rest and when I buy online there's usually something more important to buy. xD I need to get onto buying those.

lmao, omg, I never really got into the series and it's not that it isn't good, it's just the part that the little baby is also called sunny just kind of makes me look away.....(since my name's sunny as well)

XD , it is weird to read a book with your name in it, I just read one where the character that had my name was brutally murdered  It's a bit hard to go on reading after that XD

I'd be okay if my character was just a baby/biter

I have Dirty Job on my bookshelf, but I've yet to read it! :gonk: You're not the first person to tell me it's good, though. I've read a lot less YA books recently, but I like it when it's well-done. Fantasy remains my favorite genre, so I will look for that book! It sounds so cute, and excellent characters are a selling point for me.

Ditachan- AHMAHGAWD VAMPIRE ACADEMY. I LOVE Richelle Mead. <3 Those aren't my favorite books by her, but I enjoy them anyway.
Good luck with your list!

I can wait until the next vampire academy book comes out. I have read all those. I am kind of mad now because I have to be patient and wait for the new one. I might start the House of Night series until then.

@ Christopher Moore discussion

my old roommate was in love with his books. They were the only books she could ever read all the way through. She kept trying to get me to read Dirty Job but I always had other books I was busy with. The whole time she was reading Stupidest Angel we kept making jokes at a friend of ours whose name happened to be Angel. He hated Christopher Moore for that title.

@ Series of Unfortunate Events

I really wanted to read those books and I tried reading the first one a few years ago...but the writing was killing me. I can understand writing for kids...but those books were too dumbed down even for me. He would write a word...and then explain it's meaning it became very aggravating....XD

At some point in the near future, I am going to make my new book list because I uber failed last year.

This year, though, I've nearly finished my second book already. ^^
