I read a lot of R.A. Salvatore when I was younger because I was interested in the Forgotten Realms universe. Mounds of Dragonlance books too. The Chronicles Trilogy is sitting on my bookshelf wondering why I brought it all the way from home if I wasn't going to get around to rereading it any time soon. >.<

Go Reeny!
I find it funny that the book I'm reading has a sticker on it that says "The next Steig Larsson" when so far, after just finishing a Wallander book, I can't help but notice the similarity between the Nordic police workers who have issues with alcohol, enjoy listening to music and have separated from a partner. XD

Woohoo! I found a stray wireless connection wandering around! Don't know how long that means I'll be on though.
@ Carn: So, how're you liking Kyrain and Amanda?
And I've finished The Fire Eternal by Chris D'Lacey. Excellent series, all I have to say.

I just finished listening to Terry Prachett's Small Gods on audio book. I've been doing so much driving lately that I breezed right through it.
If anyone else has read the Discworld series, I'd love a recommendation on which book I should start next!

My dad was borrowing my copy of Small Gods, I'll have to ask him if he finished it. It's been ages since I listened to any of the audiobooks. Nigel Planer. <3
My favourite series is the Guards so I would recommend Guards! Guards! if you haven't read it yet. ^^

Small Gods is the only one I've encountered so far, so I'm up for just about anything else.
And Nigel Planer was amazing! I'm pretty particular about audiobooks, but his different voices and emotions were perfectly fit to the story. It's not often that the reader matches up with the book's tone so well.

The Discworld books are so high on my 'to read list' but, that list is growing and growing and I'm not putting much of a dent in it. :gonk: Eventually, eventually... I've heard nothing but good, though! And I really liked the one book by Terry Pratchett that I've read. Nation was a great read.
What I'm currently reading has gotten so discombobulated for a lot of reasons, so I'm reading Five Odd Honors by Jane Lindskold, Brother Odd by Dean Koontz, American Gods by Neil Gaiman, The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Complete works of Lewis Carroll, The Complete Worst Case Scenario Survival Guide, and The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner. My plan is to use my Thanksgiving break to just finish Brother Odd and Five Odd Honors, get a chunk of The Sound and the Fury done, and try to knock out a chunk of either Lord of the Rings or the Complete works of Carroll as well.

I'm still on my first read, but I absolutely love it!
Whenever people ask me for my favorite books, I have a huge long list to spout at them, but when they say, "Okay. Seriously. One favorite or I will kill your family," I reluctantly say my favorite book is The Once and Future King by T.H. White. By the time I'm done with the Lord of the Rings, though, I'm pretty sure I'll have a huge conflict picking between the two. I'm a sucker for fantasy epics with excellent character development, what can I say?

Finished 50, and now on to #51!!!
Itu, I'm curious as to what you'll think about the Works of Lewis Carroll. I read the whole thing a few years back, and man! I thought Alice in Wonderland trippy, but his other stuff is JUST as strange!!!! I don't know if I will ever read it again. *LOL*
You know, as much as I LOVE fantasy, I don't think I've read The Once and Future King -- how sad is that?! I should add to the list!
And, if you like epic fantasy with great characters, if you haven't already, pick up The Wheel of Time. The last one's almost out, so it's a great time to start. (Because goodness knows I've invested almost 20 years of my life into that series!!! *LOL*)

I meant to read like fifty pages of Brother Odd last night, but it was so good I ended up finishing. <3 I think it miiight be my favorite of the Odd Thomas books so far. Staying up that late was a bad choice though, since I got up before seven to go to Half-Price Books. ;a; Got six books, headphones, and a DVD for $27, though, so it was worth braving Black Friday!
Reeny- Congrats on finishing! :D
I wasn't a fan of Alice in Wonderland, I liked Through the Looking Glass, LOVED Sylvie and Bruno, and couldn't stand Sylvie and Bruno Concluded. :XD Now its time to start the short stories and poems and puzzles and whatnot. ...Has been for a long while, actually...
Well, there's so much fantasy out there, you can hardly expect to get all the classics in! But The Once and Future King is definitely worth it. It's such an excellent book. <3
I've heard of those, never read them, though. Who's the author? I'll keep an eye out!

The Wheel of Time is written by Robert Jordan. Sadly, he died several years ago, but left very detailed notes. Brandon Sanderson was hand picked to finish the series. His first one was last year, the second to last just came out, and the last one should be coming out next year, or early 2010. But, just look for Robert Jordan. His world-building skills and characters are impressive!
