I'd like to read The Host, eventually.
But right now, I've got a stack of other books waiting for me.

I've tried reading the host, I got to the part where Wanda/Meline (?) ran out of food in the desert. Very close to the begining, but it was already a weel over due at the library and I wasnt really into it. I'll probley reread it again later on when it's not requested as much at the library.

@Skrae- What series is And Less Than Kind in? I have read a lot of her books and don't recognize this one?

@Kearin- I have been wanting to read The Host but I'm not huge on alien books.
Do you think I would still like it though?

I don't have much interest in Stephenie Meyer, so I can't see myself ever reading The Host. I think I've officially moved past the realm of YA fiction.

Lilith - From what I gather, it's more of a romantic sci fi than an "alien book."

Knerd - I think I have too. XD I just make an exception for Twilight, apparently.
But I mean, right now I'm more interested in Orwell and Austen than I am in Meg Cabot and JK Rowling.

Lilith: I agree with Cherry Flavored Antacid, it's far more of a romance than an alien book. If you liked Twilight I'm pretty sure you'll like this one. :)

I just started reading Great Expectations. Good so far, but this book is a big undertaking, it looks like. The pages are SO thin, and the text is tiny.
I've got Sense and Sensibility to read, too, but I don't think I'm going to read that immediately after Great Expectations. That'd be too much. XD So I think I'm going to put One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest or The Bell Jar between them just to give myself a break.

Oh, and earlier I was taking a picture of my stack of books to show my boyfriend, and I thought it might be relevant to show here, too.
The books I've read lately (It looks like it cuts off the top of the stack, but the book at the top, the light blue one, is actually the last book on the stack)
A few other books (Twilight and Kurt Cobain.... What a mix.)
Ignore how ugly the flash on my camera makes everything look. My room looks prettier than that, I swear.

Ok, then I'll have to read it. I did really like Twilight.

I used to read more adult books but now I have less time to read. So I have been reading more YA books as they are faster for me to read.

@ Cherry: I read Great Expectations freshmen year, it's a very intimidating book. I didn't like it much at first but after a while I was hooked, I felt bad for the main character at the end though. The small writing was also killer on my eyes. XD It's a good book though, have you read it before?

Oh thank you for fixing my post Knerd, sorry 'bout that.

When we add books to our list do we go back and edit our post with the list or do we quote the list and add the new books below the quote? I just wanted to be sure before I did anything.

No, this is my first time reading it.
I'm vaguely familiar with a story because a show I watched did an episode that spoofed it. But I doubt a 30 minute show could sum up everything in the book - plus, they were being silly. So I know it wasn't very accurate.

@ Cherry: Ah, yeah I've watched a movie that was on HBO that was based off the book but it was to modern day and didn't have the right feel about it. I hope you like it, it's confusing in parts but a good read nether-the-less. (You're making me want to pick up my copy that I have now XD)

Yeah, big old books like this can be confusing at times. I normally figure it out if I read the sentence/paragraph a few times, though.

Yes, pick it up! Read with me! :D

Yeah, its nice in VA but where I live its like 20 or more minutes to get to where everything is. XD and always smells like skunk.
I'm on Vacation with my family visiting my dad's family, unfortunately my pale self is sunburned T_T on the plus side, I'm getting a lot of reading done so that's good (even if they are book's I've read already)

Shakespeare's:
Romeo & Juliet

A Midsummer Night's Dream
King Lear
Othello

Almost all of these books are in my possession.

What I recommend:

If you're into deeply woven plots read books by the following authors: Dan Brown, Robert Ludlum, Gregory Maguire, and Stephen Hunter. What are these authors famous for? Dan Brown came up with The DaVinci Code, Robert Ludlum wrote the original Bourne Series, Gregory Maguire created Wicked (now a hit Broadway show) and Stephen Hunter wrote the novel "Point of Impact" which inspired the movie Shooter with Mark Wahlberg.

If you're into a fun story that will make you laugh read books by the following authors: Sophie Kinsella, Lauren Weisberger, Emma McLaughlin/Nicola Kraus. Sophie Kinsella created the Shopaholic series, Lauren invented the Devil Wears Prada while Emma/Nicola created The Nanny Diaries. Fun books to read and ones that will certainly leave you laughing out loud.

If you're into love stories and easy reads read books by the following authors: Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series and Cecelia Ahern who came up with the hit novel and now film PS I Love you.
