Melissa - Wow, that's a lot of books.
I used to read a ton when I was a preteen. I read so much and so quickly that I tended to forget the books a few weeks after I read them, though. Then I just got out of reading for a few years and only picked up a book here and there.
I'm back into it now, but I'm being careful to take my time so I can actually enjoy and process the books I'm reading.

Cherry, Hahah yeah. I like reading, always have. I carry a book with me everywhere. I seem to have the same problem that you had when you were younger. I forget books easily because I read so many. I tend to reread books months later just to get a refresher and to remember the plot. And character names...I can never remember names after I've read the book (unless it's a long book series with the same characters).

Aha, I finally found 1984 on one of my book trading sites! So I can read it at places aside from the computer. :D
And I also got Great Expectations today. Add that to the mountain of books that I need to read. o_o
This is a late comment, but I smiled reading this cuz I bought 1984 and Great Expectations in the same bookstore trip. XD

I'm reading 1984 right now. It took me a while to get through the beginning, but it's going by pretty well now. >w>
I still have about half of the pages left to read, and then I'm thinking whether to move on to Ender's Game or Great Expectations next~

I've heard recommendations of it from a couple people, so I felt like I should really try it sometime. 8'D
Plots, descriptions, and summaries and such all sound really interesting, so I'm excited!

Have you read all the books from the series, Skrae? 8O

Almost.
I think there's only one I've not read, and that's because I started another series by the author and got a wee bit sidetracked.
^^;;

Haha, I think that's understandable though.
It happens to me too, though mostly because I haven't gotten my hands on a copy of the next book (yet). XD;

What series was that, if you don't mind me asking?

Definitely XD;

I liked Great Expectations, but the first half caught my attention more. I started hating Pip when he started doing the things he started doing 8D;

Yeah. My advice would be to slow down a bit, then. Definitely still read a lot, but try not to read for like, four hours straight. XD I found that I retained things well if I still read a lot, but only read for two hours or less at a time. Then I have time to process everything I've read.
And I normally take a few days to week off between books. But you don't have to do that.

This is amazing. I've read fifty books now! I'm surprised it took me this long, but then, some of the books were kind of boring, or would get lost, or I was packing/traveling... But I've read over fifty books now! Yay!

You're welcome, Cherry. :]

Now I'm reading The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King.

Oooh, King. ^^
I've only actually ever read a few of his books, and never made it through one of them, but he's pretty good.
Cujo and Misery were really good. It drug on forever, though. D: And the characters blended together. I'll try it again eventually, though, because it seemed interesting. Just hard to follow.

Somewhere between Dickens, Orwell, and Austen, I feel like reading a young adult book. So I'm looking through some ones and here's the ones I've found that look like they could be good (some looked absolutely horrible XD)
Lost It
Two-Way Street
Thirteen Reasons Why (Especially this one. Seriously considering this one)
Wake
Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac

Anyone read any of these? Or have any other suggestions?
I'm looking for a young adult and/or coming of age novel. Nothing hokey, cliched, or for middle schoolers or dumbed down highschoolers.

The only ones I've really read by him are this one and Rose Madder.
THAT one was pretty damned awesome. Gory a bit though.
This one is like a dark fantasy novel. xP

You should read Speak....
I really love that book. >.<

There's only one YA novel that I'd really recommend:
Born Confused by Tanija Desai Hidier.

But if that one doesn't appeal to you, try to read something from PUSH Fiction. It's a great publishing company that centers around books for teens by teens.

Edit:
And congrats to Canna!
I've added your name to the front page.

Ooo. Eyes of the Dragon is one of the best king books, in my humble opinion. It's what I recommend for people to start reading with and then dive into more of his horror genre. Then again, I'm a huge fan of the Dark Tower series.
