THAT one was pretty damned awesome. Gory a bit though.
This one is like a dark fantasy novel. xP

You should read Speak....
I really love that book. >.<
I remember looking at Speak once and thinking it looked interesting. I'll be sure to look into it again.

Alright, thanks, I'll look into those. :D

I have Wake on a waiting list at my library, I heard it was really good so I'm really interested in reading it.
I mostly read YA books because, well there addicting. I just got reading a book that I've read about 3 times now, its called The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen there's also another one that appeals to me more called Just Listen by the same author.
But it neither of those appeal to you try Impulse by Ellen Hopkins, its different then the first two and slightly...dark.

I actually looked at Impulse last night. ^^
I think I'm going to get Thirteen Reasons Why. But I still love suggestions for future reference.

Yes, I love The Eyes of the Dragon too.
This is the....third?....time I've read it.
I would like to read the entire Dark Tower series, but I never do for some reason. xP
I've got only part way through The Gunslinger more than once, but I always seem to lose interest in it for some reason. >.< I don't know why, really...it isn't as if its a boring book or something...
But besides, I don't think that's the first in the series, is it? o.o;

Cherry:: I really recommend Speak. Its a very good book, in my opinion.
Some others I'd recommend, that are slightly dark like that one, are Crank and Cut.

One I'd like to read is Go Ask Alice. xP

Go Ask Alice.. It sounds vaguely familiar but I can't figure out where I might have seen the title.

What is the book about? o^o

Lura:: Go Ask Alice is a book by an anonymous author, published in 1971, which is presented as the diary of a supposedly real 15-year-old girl who accidentally gets turned on to drugs, then gets totally addicted, and winds up turning into a teenage prostitute, a dealer, and a runaway.
During the course of the "diary", she is sexually abused, raped, and she winds up being in a mental institution after going on a bad LSD trip and attempting to claw her face off. (?)

She apparently does, however, want to get clean, and she apparently really tries, but she fails in the end.

I've wanted to read it since I was 13, but I've never done it, for some reason. :/

Ahh~ The plot doesn't sound familiar, but it does sound like something I'd think interesting to read. @[email protected]

I'm really curious what the diary entries read like closer to the end. 8O

Go Ask Alice is a really good book, I read it a couple of years ago. I can't remember what all happened in it but it was pretty epic in my opinion.

Good to know, makes me more excited to look for the book somewhere and read it! X3

I've got about a fourth of 1984 left to read. The middle went by really fast for me, but I think I've reached a somewhat slow spot again. XD; Still, my interest has been kept high so far, and it's very possible I'll be reading it again a few more times in the future. @[email protected]

Gah...we were talking about Go Ask Alice, and now the song White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane is hopelessly stuck in my head. xD

I haven't read it yet (I have it and want to, though) but my boyfriend has, and he says that the last part is very confusing and hard to follow because Orwell was dying when he wrote it, so he just sort of rushed it out.

< 3 - ! I like how you put ratings next to the books you've read. 8'O I think I'd be too lazy to rate books,
even more lazy to go back and rate the books I've already read because my memory isn't so good for things I feel while I'm reading.. XD;
I just know I either liked it, or didn't like it, haha.

Cherry - Well that's pretty interesting to note, especially since I haven't, or maybe just barely started the last part. 8O

Lura Crane - Ha ha thank you, this isn't completely selfless however because otherwise I forget which ones I did and didn't like and have trouble recommending them to people.
Plus I tend to give books as birthday gifts and it helps to know what's good and what isn't. xD
Not to mention these are all fairly recent reads (last week or so, I have been on a crazed book a night schedule where I will stay up until two a.m. reading. xD) so it's helping me keep track of them. ^-^

@Birdie- The Ugly trilogy is awesome, though Specials wasn't as good as I would have liked, I felt so bad for Zane in it (he was my favorite character in Pretties). Though the new extra book in the seires called..Extra is really really good.

[email protected] Oh I absolutely *loved* Shade's Children! I lost my copy the last time we moved and I keep forgetting to replace it. It's very... different. :) I really don't want to say anything about it until you've read it.

< 3 - Hmm.. that makes me think back and realize I've never given books to people, even as regular/other gifts before. 8O
I can't read a book a night, but I rather frequently stay up to about 4 in the morning reading a book I've gotten really into reading. XD;

Oh, and I just finished 1984! (Minus the appendix about Newspeak.) The ending definitely seemed rushed, and just a bit, it felt cut off, but it was still very much a good read. 83

After finishing the appendix, I think I'll get started on Pride and Prejudice, and maybe Great Expectations after that one. >w>

Your book case is being stalked XD

I'm re-reading "A Prayer for Owen Meany". It's been a few years since I read it, but I remember liking it. At first I thought it was going to be boring, but after the first page I started to get more interested.
