Jacob. Grr. I'm indecisive at the moment as to whether I hate him or not. That certain COMMENT he made at Bella...in Eclipse...about how he'd rather her be dead than a vampire...D< I could have KILLED HIM.
He did apologize, but that's immaterial, as he should have never opened his moronic doggy mouth in the first place. -continues ranting-

No, no, call it BRONZE. So you can be like Edward.
EDWARD HAIR.
Ahh, yes, Jake is an ass in Eclipse. He does even more jerkish stuff. But don't worry, he's better later on.

I just finished reading Breaking Dawn. [SPOILER ALERT!]
I didn't dislike the ending, but I wasn't amazed either. The whole book, I was waiting for a huge epic vampire war, and I was a little disappointed that the Volturi just gave up. I mean, for Renesme, Edward, and Bella's sake, I'm glad that there wasn't a fight, but the book seemed to be lacking a climax.
I was very pleased with the beginning, I've wanted Edward and Bella to have sex and get married since book one, and I'm glad they did. I was so shocked when i found out she was pregnant!
I loved reading from Jacob's point of view. I wish more of the book was told from his perspective. After Bella became a vampire, the book went downhill for me. There just wasn't enough action.
I guess I was just expecting MORE.
All in all, Eclipse is by far my favorite book, and I can't wait for Midnight Sun!
After reading from Jake's perspective, I have a newfound respect for Jacob. I was furious with him after New Moon, and not to thrilled with him during Eclipse. Edward and Bella just belong together. It shouldn't be any other way. I'm glad Stephenie Meyer played that out the way she did.
The ending was left a little open, and I wouldn't be surprised if she wrote another book. After all, I would like to hear about Renesmee when she's reached maturity, and see how her relationship with Jacob plays out, especially since there's already someone else interested in her!
End of spoiler!
And I still can't finish The Host. It's just not that interesting. I feel bad for not liking it. =/

You're a horrible person. D:
I can't stand knowing what's going to happen. it just ruins the whole book for me.
Like when i know there's X more books in a series, and the main character faces some sort of peril, I just can't take it seriously, because in my head I just keep thinking "Well, there's X more books, so he can't die..."
That's why I like staying on top of things.

You... you... skipped to the last page? :o
You... I... There are no words. XD
Padfootsy - Yes, I'm so glad they finally sexed. XD
EDIT: And yeah, I'm the same way.
Like the ballet studio in the first book. I was like "...I know she doesn't die." So it wasn't really that suspenseful for me. XD I just wanted to see HOW things worked out, not IF they would.

Well I was in the middle of the second book untill I lost it. I'm the kind of person when reading a series if I lose my place or don't pick it up for a while I have to start all over again..and i didn't want to do that so yes, I cheated.
It's the same reason why I never got past book six in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series..same goes for the Frank Herbert's Dune series.
Shame on me.
I would also carefully unwrap my Christmas presents as a child and take a peek at what I was getting and then reseal them. It worked for a while until my parents started to change the boxes around on me. :P

@Cherry - After reading the first part of the book before I knew Bella was pregnant, I was so content with the series of events that I seriously considered not reading the rest so that I wouldn't be disappointed! Because the ONLY 2 things I wanted to happen in the book happened in the first few chapters! It was like immediate gratification!
@Teacupmouse - the only reason I didn't put the second book down was because [slight spoiler if you haven't started New Moon] I was waiting for Edward to come back. I hated most of the second book, and I despised Jacob. Also, I read the entire book on a plane on the way back from Florida, so there was nothing else I could do.

 I CAN'T.
Believe me, it was TOTALLY part of my motivation in dying it this way, after starting Twilight, to have EDWARD HAIR. But its kind of reddish copper. It isn't like Edward. But I still love it so much and everyone loves it on me. ^^

I bought more!
A Choice of Kipling's Verse by Rudyard Kipling
I, Claudius by Robert Graves
A Room of One's Own by Virginia Woolf
The Ogre by Tournier
Slammerkin by Emma Donoghue
Hiroshima by John Hersey
Monkey, a Chinese Folk Tale
The Return of the King by Tolkein (Now I finally have the whole series in the same publication!!)
Old Master Paintings from Sotheby's
In other news - I finished reading Shade's Children by Garth Nix.
It was your average YA fantasy novel. Nothing out of the ordinary. The characters weren't as developed as they should be, the plot was pretty predictable, but it was a very entertaining read. I would have appreciated it more if I had picked it up a few years ago. It just isn't aimed towards my age group, so of course I can't completely enjoy it. But I'd recommend it to younger readers.
I don't think I'm going to keep my copy of the book - I don't see myself ever rereading it. I'm going to donate it to the library the next time I drive into town.

Oh, yeah, it's such a pain when you discover a nice story, but it's sort of "below you." Makes you wish you could send a letter to yourself in the past and tell yourself to read it. XD

I usually recommend them to my little brother, or at least try, but he's not a big reader, so my attempts almost always fail. -__-

How does he feel about comic books? Or books based on tv shows and movies that he's seen?
Things like that tend to interest boys a bit more than 'regular' books would.

I just finished Rebekah by Orson Scott Card a little bit ago and I enjoyed it but then again I also hadn't read anything in a while. I'm sure anyone could appreciate the story but unless the reader believed in God they probably wouldn't like it quite as much. But I definitely wants to read the others in this particular series based off of the lives of Biblical women. There's Sarah and Rachel. It's obviously a work of fiction but it's nice to see personality and story added to facts.
But tonight I'll start Daughter of the Forest since I've been wanting to read something by Juliet Marillier again.

Knerd:: He likes manga A LOT.
And he likes the comics that V for Vendetta was based on. I did get him into that with my obsession with the movie. xD
I think he reads science books, and I know he's been reading books about wrestlers that he idolizes.
I dunno what exactly his tastes are anymore, he's pretty secretive. But he's almost fifteen and he's starting to become his own person, so I guess that's to be expected. -sighsigh-

Tell him that some random lady on the Internet suggested these graphic novels:
'Jimmy Corrigan: the Smartest Kid on Earth' by Chris Ware
'In the Shadow of No Towers' by Art Spiegelman
'Watchmen' by Alan Moore
'Black Hole' by Charles Burns
'Ghost World' by Daniel Clowes
'From Hell' by Alan Moore
'The Mythology Class' by Arnold Arre
'Dead Memory' by Marc-Antoine Mathieu
'Heavy Liquid' by Paul Pope
'Epileptic' by David B
'Complete Optic Nerve' by Adrian Tomire
They're not manga, but those authors are incredibly important to the development of graphic novels as an art form. I know a lot of people who really consider these to be literature. If any of the titles interest him, they might help him expand his tastes.

Oh man. I love reading but for the past three years I've had severe migraines and reading only irritates them. This is something I would adore to do but I think it'll have to wait :) It's fun to see so many people doing it though! It sounds wonderful.
