@kk - Fahrenheit 451 is very good. I enjoyed it alot.
@Knerd - I've never really enjoyed the textbooks that I've had. At least, not very much.

-checks wikipedia- A book about a crazy place that has
banned books? o__o I went to my cities public library
yesterday and I found a book called 'Inkheart' I decided
to check it out because I saw my friend earlier in the
year reading it, she said it was good. The concept is
similar to Magyk. On another note I found a old kids book
called 'The true story of the three little pigs' even
though its only like 20 pages long its soo funny xD my
friend acted as the 'big bad wolf' in a play we had at our
school earlier in the year.
Oh, and I found a book 'how to become a pirate' I didn't
even look at it though, because i checked it out for my
friend that is crazy about pirates maybe i should of
checked out 'how to survive an robot takeover' too xD.

I've seen the Inkheart book before, but I've never looked at it. What is it about?

Hm, I am not exactly sure myself. The summary is not really a summary at all. Its more like a quote from one
of the pages. Erm. It says it a book within a book. In a
way.
here is a quote
Quote:
For Anna, who even put The Lord of the Rings aside for a while to read this book.
Could anyone ask more of a daughter?
And for Elinor, who lent me her name,
although I didn't use it for an elf queen.

I may end up buying it myself, especially if The Handmaid's Tale doesn't manage to catch my interest. I love the concept for the book, but I'm starting to think Ms. Atwood is having a torrid love affair with commas and run-on sentences. >.<
Or I might get George Orwell's 1984 as I've always meant to read it. Part of that is because I loved Animal Farm, and the other part because as a person born in 1984, it is my duty to read it.

I didn't really enjoy 1984. But, then again, I was in third/fourth grade when I read it.

I've read a few of the tales before but I didn't have time to read them all the last time I had a copy of the book in my hands...
I've never read George Orwell... I haven't read many famous works...

I like the Grimm Fairy Tales.
I didn't really like/or care for any of Goerge Orwells books.

It's never too late to join! Even if you've started too late for your challenge to end next December, you can still go for 12 months. We're not closing anytime soon. =)
I'm not a big fan of Orwell's novels, but I enjoy reading his short stories and essaies. I think that, as an author, his writing is much more pointed and emotional when he can plan it out to 10 or 15 pages. "Shooting an Elephant"is a famous essay of his that always left an impression on me.

I don't know how the Welcome balloons were originally distributed, since that was before my time. I just bought the both of them in the exchange a little while ago.
And yep - I'm purple now. I was green before that, a lighter green before that, and red before that. But I think that I'll be staying this color for a while.

^ I just did a little searching and found out that the Welcome balloons and Welcome t-shirts were gifts to the first 1,000 members, just like Yumeh Hairpin was a gift to the first 10,000 members. Is that what you wanted to know?
