White- I was thinking about the banners while I was unable to sleep last night (lol)

And I was thinking if you could draw the avi's as little chibis and have them holding up the banner with the name of the topic etc it would be really cute. and it would be totally different then any of the previous banners the site has had for any event. (if my wording doesn't make sense let me know and I will doodle you up a concept)

I think I will be making my avi today <3 Intoxicating already sent me hers, would you like me to send them as I get them or just all at once?

Well, I think whatever we come up with next will be very cool to see what happens with it.

Okay. I finally sent out the PMs with the Prizes info (yes, I know, took me long enough XD). Also, Intoxicating, I mentioned our thread in your PM.

Intoxicating- I look forward to earth day events in the future as well. If we can keep changing it up and keeping it fresh it would be a load of fun!! <3

I think we should do nature horns for one of the lotto prizes, as well as anything else we still have sitting around Tree Hugger's inventory. I know we've gotten some more donations since we wrote the prizes up.

oks oks now i have a question, should they be able to enter both category's (i think yes but only once for each category) and if they could enter both category's should they be able to win more than once? (i want to say no)

I hope none of you mind but I would prefer that I be given artistic freedom in the planning of the banners. ^^;

Although suggestions are welcomed and such, it's no guarantee that it'll be executed in the final product. Since I also have to take into consideration the limitations of my skill and how confident I am about using it.

Since if you must know, I am not very confident about drawing chibis. As a matter of fact, I do not even peddle my art in chibi style. I only give it away since I don't think it's gold worthy enough Mene or Gaia wise.

...This is how I feel about my skills now. Sure people will go 'No white! You draw well! Don't say that! It's okay.' or something along those lines. Thing is, I want to keep this my pace and go along the progress line when I get there. When I'm ready.

I'm not ready yet to venture into chibi.

And even back when I did commissions, I was never told how it should be done. ^^; I only asked for references and then told them to just trust me, leave it up to me. I was tired of being told, do this...do that. Make my gold count since I'm paying you.

Hence I said I don't like talking about the gold part and why I never bothered to open a shop here on Menewsha. I don't want a repeat of Gaia's 'make my gold count since I'm paying you' and/or the 'do this do that' feeling.

I trust you will make something pretty regardless. It was just an idea. <3 (that and I'm trying to stray away from the drama at the winter event of how they had 'copied' other peoples banners etc. >.<)

Vadeil- I think they should be able to enter both categories, and if they are good enough, sure they can win both, the best entry after all should be the winner. But as it is your contest it is totally up to you XD <3

People would be unhappy if one person won both though. XD

Question. When is the deadline for entries, and when do we plan to announce winners? I think it would be cool to announce winners on the last day of the event, but then we'd have to have the deadline like the day before or something. And then people won't read the instructions, and will think they have the whole event, and get angry when their entry isn't in on time

A recently concluded contest in our university received a lot of controversy because the rules did not specify that it was okay to submit more than once and even win two places in the contest.

People complained that their art was better and that the rules were weak. Then that the judges were biased. All sorts of complaints you could think of were being thrown left and right.

I didn't like it. It didn't help I had some doing in the writing of the rules---indirectly. At any rate, it would be good to be very, very direct with them.

So let's be specific.

How long will the Earth Day celebration be now specifically? A week/five days or three? I'm confused. I back read and found some work regarding extensions?

it was originally 3 days, the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd.
but it is now the 19th to the 23rd

Tori and I already decided on that in the rules, we will be allowing entries up until midnight on the 22nd, either EST or CST. entries that come in after that will not be eligible to participate.
Perhaps we could make it that way for all of the contests?
I would like to announce all winners on the last day of the event.

also what time is the event ending? I think a set time would help as well for that. (:

Melody: Yeah, let's keep it the same for all. So, let's say all entries must be in by midnight CMT, since that's in the middle, and all winners announced sometime on the 23rd. Do we want a set time on the 23rd?

I think as long as it is before the event ends on the 23rd we should be ok. I don't want to rush judging. >.<

What's the final hour of the event? Perhaps an hour or two before it actually ends, the judges should have already made a decision?

Since we have the entries ahead of time, I suppose the judges will be able to make a sound decision already within twelve hours or so including the judges squabbling and deciding which this and that, that and this.

And if there are problems regarding the decision, well they can always raise it up while the event's on going via PM than cause an uproar on a thread.

Also, if changes need be done and such, they can be made through a supplementary post event thread for clarifications. That aside, I'm for a post event thread in case for entrants who want a summary report of the event that has passed with the winners and entries for it.
