*sigh* Well apparently we're our own worst critics right? Well I'm trying to work out if Im my own worst critic or if I should just jack in avatar art. Quit.

See I love my cute animal and teddy bears, but people? I don't know, I just don't love the outcomes. My friends have told me that they like my art, but friends do that don't they? And I am working on a commission I got offered over a thousand for, but maybe thats just a fluke? So I'm asking for impartial views. Should I continue? Should I stop it. Should I open a shop?

Some avatar art

Funny, I thought I had more on this computer. Apparently not.

Most people seem to avoid these threads like the plague because they don't ever want to seem mean, but I've finally decided to answer one, so here it goes, and I hope you take no offense to my words. They are not meant to be mean but to help, and I hope they do, so here goes.

Well to be completely honest, you aren't yet ready to open a shop seeing as their is room for improvement.

If it's something you enjoy doing then by no means should you quit. Never do you quit something because you can't do it perfectly. Just practice, and try to find tutorials that'll help with whatever you feel you need work in; shading, anatomy (male or female), clothing, facial features/ expressions. Just keep at it, until you can look back and truly say you've improved, and even then keep on trying.
