I'm like that as well, sometimes I can type without looking at the keyboard. Although I use the wrong fingering it works for me so I don't bother trying to change the way I type.

Wow, it's been years and years since I learned to type without looking at the keyboard, haha. I've been on computers basically my entire life, though, so by this time it's become more natural to me than actually writing things out with a pen or something. The one thing I actually can't do is to type while looking at the keyboard, because then I'm thinking about the keys rather than just knowing where they are. Most of my friends are the same way. x3

We learned typing back when I was in middle school, somewhere around 4th though 6th grade, I can't really remember exactly which one. I was pretty good at doing it and could type without looking but then they kept making us do the exercises faster and faster until you just couldn't do them anymore without looking so I succumbed and then ended up watching the keyboard whenever I typed until 10th grade when I took typing. That got me off of my kick pretty fast and since then I've been typing without watching the keyboard ever since. I get some typeos and stuff but you catch them as soon as you type it because you can watch what you're typing on the screen.

Yep, I can type without looking at my keyboard. I usually do, anyway. xD
I have one of those tables with a board underneath that you can scroll out for the keyboard and mouse, but it usually takes up too much room if I scroll it out... so I reach underneath and type.
When I was in fourth or fifth grade, my dad usually picked out like two pages of text for me to type on the computer... so I knew how to type from 9 or 10 years old. It's not surprising that I can type really quickly without making any mistakes. xD
My cousin is this way, too. The first time he saw the keyboard, there were letters and numbers indicated on each key. Second time, however, it was all blank. Soooo... he had to just blindly grope out the letters and stuff. We both can type really fast without looking at the keyboard. xD

lol. I took a keyboarding class....well actually I took two of them so I know how to type really fast, while talking to someone else (which is pretty difficult) while NOT looking at the keyboard. ^^
It just takes practice.

I used to be the same way. I used to peck and hunt for the keys, and I was really reliant on looking at the keyboard because I wasn't familiar with it.
Eventually, and after a while, I naturally began to teach myself the "home row" fashion of typing, and it was slow starting at first, however, it progressed to the point that I got to be fast, but I was still looking at the keys.
Now it's gotten to the point (for about five years now) that I'm capable of looking at the screen and not even bothering to stare at the keyboard. I type about 120 words per minute, and all that without staring at the keys.
I think it takes practice, and just a lot of involvement in typing. It's really not so hard once you get used to it.

I started taking typing classes in elementary school so I’ve been typing for quite a while. I could type without looking at the key bored but I was extremely slow and sometimes put my fingers on the wrong keys. Past few years my typing has increased dramatically from all the role-playing I do.
I can now type a paragraph in a matter of minutes in what used to take me nearly half and hour. When I’m having an off day though my typing goes down the drain and I can’t remember where anything is and have to keep looking at the key bored to find the write keys so I don’t throw the key bored.

I've been using the computer for years, so I type fast and don't look at the keyboard. I always look at the screen when I type. It is actually much easier to be able to do so, because you can see when you make a typo and fix it right away. I don't know how long I've been able to do this, but at least for several years. I also type the correct way, with my fingers on the home keys. A lot of people don't seem to bother doing this, but it really does make typing faster and easier, especially if you don't want to have to look at the keys. On my keyboard, a lot of the letters have rubbed off. I guess it's just from being used so much. So many of the keys are missing parts of the letter or even the whole letter entirely. It doesn't bother me because I know where every letter is so I don't need the letters printed on the keys to know, but when other people want to use my computer it's always amusing to watch them get confused by the lack of so many letters. And they ask me where the letters are and get frustrated. XD

Oh god, I remember that day as if were yesterday! I was typing when I finally realized that I hadn't looked at the keyboard once since I had started. It was one of the freakyest things I think ever happened to me!

The funny thing is, I took a keyboard class in middle school xD And I didn't learn how to type half as fast as I've been able to on my own in the same amount of time xD *shrugs* It probably is a natural thing :3 Like, you want to keep up with conversations online in chat forums and everything? You better learn how to type xD I used to hang around really active forums, where you'd just find yourself in the dust if you weren't refreshing twenty times a second and typing like hell xD; It's kind of difficult in that sense -- especially since I used dial-up back then >.> But that's beside the point xD
It was kind of interesting for me when I discovered that I don't need to look at the keyboard to type <3 I was really excited <3 (I sometimes need to look when I'm using a key I don't use often, like the semicolon) -- But other than that, it's pretty good ^__^ I don't hold my hands in the classic position or anything -- my hands are all over the keyboard xD;
... Which makes it so much easier to become just one key off and start typing in gibberish xD Which is always fun >.>
If you practice, it'll come a lot faster too <3 So that's cool for you :3 It's easier to multitask too xD I had a conversation with my mother once, keeping eye contact while I was chatting with a friend xD (Actually, my mom was telling me information I had to give the friend, so it was just being insta-transferred xD ) -- Kind of a cool skill to have :3 *nod nod* ;3

Back in 5th grade we were forced to do typing classes by the program named PAWS *I can't remember what the letters stood for* which taught us to not only type faster but type without looking at the keyboard. If our teacher caught us looking at the keyboard the whole time they would make us redo the step. ><; Eventually it was banged into my head so much that ever since 7th grade I haven't had to look at the keyboard to see what letters were where. The program was a success I will say but man it was really annoying starting out. ><; I dunno if your school made you do that but it helps whether or not it seems really tedious.

Its easier for me to type without looking at the keyboard, so I can look at the screen to find and fix my errors. Since I seem to type too fast than is good for me, that's helpful.

Well I usually glance at the keyboard for less than a second before I type and then just continue typing without looking at it after.
I also had to go through typing classes, but by that time I had already developed my own way of typing. I don't have my fingers in the correct positions when I type because I learned by chatting on MSN xDxD
When I used to play the piano I noticed that my fingers seemed like machines. If I thought about the piece I was playing too much I would start to make mistakes. I would actually play better if I just let my fingers go freely!
