So my sister was washing my hair in the sink earlier today and my mom called up if I wanted princess stars for breakfast... I only eat them because they're princess stars. Well it led to a conversation about my wierd cravings for American food that just isnt sold in England...
Well my sisters friend in Scotland found a site that ships American food to England. So I get online and do a google search for it. *dies of happiness*
Only its pretty expensive, and I dont get paid until either the 30th or 31st. *sob sob* But shipping is pretty good, so I'm going to order as much as I can on that shipping price. Get value for my money.
*prays that pay day hurries up.*
Only I don't know what I like in American food. And what is this wierd obsession with peanut butter and chocolate? Both things are tastey, but together they actually make me ill!
So far on my list I have:
Lucky Charms (ZOMG *dies of happiness*
Some Hersheys. Cookies and cream and milk chocolate
Plus pop tart, which although you can get in England, I have never heard of pop tarts smores before! *wonders what on Earth a smore is*
Marshmellow fluff (no idea what that is, but it's the reason sisters friend found this site)
So discussion:
What are some of these things I'm ordering without really knowing what they are?
Do you order things not knowing what they are?
Ever ordered food from another country?
What would you recomend I try?
Americas wierd obsession with Chocolate AND peanut butter.
Anything else you can think of.

You say you live in England, but why did you spell mum as "mom"?
Well, I like 'mentos' which are sweets not commonly sold here... they're more common elsewhere in Europe.
I don't like American food much. It's kinda bland - or really sweet or salty - and just comes in humungous portions. Oreoes are gross too, and beef jerky looks like a dog's innards.

It's just easier. *shrugs* As a roleplayer I got a lot of hassle on Gaia for claiming to be literate and having taken English in College and yet not being able to spell something as simple as mom. I gave up and now online I write in American English.

Pearl: I'm in Canada, we get a lot of the American ..... stuff.... and I have to agree with you, most of it IS gross.
Which is why I'm surprised that the country isn't starving to death ><
Oh well.
Jayms: Lucky Charms.. Haven't had that in awhile XD My siblings usually eat it all up before I can get some myself.. ><
A Smore is when you take two grahm crackers, and smush Chocolate and Marshmellow between them. Rather yummy if that's your thing.
Marshmellow fluff, I can't help you on that one ^^;;; I"m guessing... a marshmellow Candy? XD Lol.

Yes, but just point out to them that we're the original speakers of English, it was mum before mom and if anything they're spelling it wrong.
And if you just say "I'm English, and that's how it's spelt in England" then they'll shut up because you're not incorrect.

A lot of the food is gross, but Im addicted to some things. Like Hersheys and Lucky Charms. I have an insane sweet tooth and well, Hersheys just tastes wierd. I'm not even sure its real chocolate, but I like it anyways... so long as there's no wierd peanut butter concoction in it... *looks dubious*
Ooooh, Grahm craker I've never heard of but I do like marshmellow. *shrugs* I shall just order the one box.
Yeah, but as to what kind of marshmellow candy? *looks dubious again*
Oh well, its just like shopping in the Chinese store I go to I guess, Just without the chace to poke and sniff it before buying.
You would have thought that would be easy...but its not. It's much easier to just use their spellings. Believe me.

I don't use their spellings.
Anyway, leaving out 'u's makes me feel dumb, and the way they litter apostrophes everywhere annoys me.
I'm still not sure if it's grammatically correct for them to use apostrophes for every plural word...
(e.g cake's ... *twitch*)

And go figure, I misspell Graham XD lol.
Anyway, Hmmm, graham crackers are generally used in the bottom of a cheesecake (yum-O). And s'more's are usually eaten around a campfire. Don't ask why, I have no idea XD
Lol.
If I were to guess, the Marshmellow fluff is just a marshmellow thing that is in the shape of something .... or something. Honestly, I'm not sure. When I hear it, I think of like.. the chocolate covered Marshmellow Snowmen and whatnot around Christmas time, or bunnies for easter, or chicks for easter or... well I'm sure you get the point.
And how can Hershey's not be real chocolate? XD lol. Personally I find it... plain. Just a plain Hershey's bar? Blah.
I <3 Cookie's and Cream though (And Twix.)
And lol'z. I know what you mean. You can't poke at it or sniff it first ><
Pearl: Oh!! Ooh!! here in Canada we use the 'u's =33
Words look better xD lol.
anyway, as for the "Cake's"... I'm pretty sure it would be just "cakes" ..... >< But then again, American's (At least the good chunk of them) are stupid and can't spell (I'm not tyring to flame or anything of the sort, in my experiences, about 90% of them are illiterate ... I mean come on... they think... that Canadians... live in IGLOOS!? >< )

Please dont double post, just add onto your origional post if no one has replied and I am not going to talk about Americans bad English.
Hersheys tastes nothing like chocolate over here. So I'm not convinced it is :P See chocolate isn't meant to taste so bland...
Marshmellow fluff is pictured as pink or white in a tub. The picture doesnt really elabourate, nor did the description. Oh well Im adventurous.

I've heard nothing but good about the English Chocolate, and it makes me REALLY want to try it. Too bad I live on a different continent ><

Well cadburies is available in America Ive heard. It's classed as something called family chocolate...? My favourite is Thorntons which you won't be able to get over there. It is absolutely gorgeous. But American chocolate is more bitter than British. *shrugs* At least what I've tasted. That reminds me... I owe my sister a box of Thorntons >_< Shes gonna kill me for forgetting.
I'd send you some, but Thorntons is kinda expensive and I dont know you :P I'd send you some Cadburies though.

Mmmmm Cream eggs. The toothache is SO worth it! They're already out here. Have been for ages where I am, although where Jayms is theyre seasonal.... *shrugs* I love being able to eat them all year round.
I used to be addicted to chocolate, now Im not. I've gone off of cadburies a lot (Didn't stop me from collecting the free samples and buying a load when we toured the factory though) Now I'm more likely to have a galaxy ripple or Thorntons. I don't know if Galaxy is British, but it is so nice!
I think if you only have small doses you'll be fine.

Smores angel are these campfire treats.
You know how we see everyone on the movies and TV roasting marshmellows over a fire.
Well you add graham crackers (how they differ to regualar crackers I don't know), and something else, I'm not sure but I think it's chocolate.
