one was an April Fools joke that nearly made me

I must apologize for what I am about to say. I know it sounds a bit harsh, as well as lacking a motive. But hear me out. You've asked "what's wrong" with me several times today. I should have told you then, or any time in school thereafter, but I couldn't make it sound right. Therefore, I am only going to tell you right now, the entire truth: I had a dream last night, one that I think is important to my future. In my dream, I saw two distinct timelines: one where I am happy, and one where I am unhappy. In the latter part of the dream, I saw me, as I am everyday: full of contempt and jealousy. This vision told me that, if I were to continuously foster dreams of us, together, I would continue to grow contemptuous, jealous of the other people you would date. In my "happy" part of the dream, I saw myself giving up on you, seeing that, as "fickle" as you are, I would never hold your interest for long. Therefore, I wish only this: you speak to me only if necessary. I'd rather be happy in the future, rather than jealous of your various partners, and I'm sure you'd feel a bit more comfortable if I didn't matter to you as much, or if I didn't care about you as much. If you do elect to speak to me, for the sake of idle chatter, I will ignore you, utterly and completely, and go about my business as if you never existed. It would be a lot easier for me, and probably for you as well, if we were to go "our separate ways". I am sorry, but I don't love you. I now realize my vision of "love" was misguided, and false.
