Okay this might be a small problem, but small problems can lead to bigger ones. So here goes:
I'm never a sickly person. My problem is sores on the inside of my lip. They start out small, either they are cuts or just what I get for chewing my lip too much. Then they get bigger, and it's not like they hurt, or are gross and infected [they usually aren't infected either] they just get in the way! I have small enough lips as it is, these sores make me talk like a retard. So when I went on a road trip I got a pretty big one, and my mom got me this chapstick that is for sores. Yeah it helps but yesterday I used it, and it swelled up a bit.
Do you think it swelled because the chapstick, or just something else coincidentally occuring?
What would you suggest I do to prevent it?
Have you had a similar experience?

Are you sure they're sores, and not just swelling from you biting them?
The inside of your mouth is pretty sensitive to biting (a bad place to be sensitive to that, since your teeth are right there. >.<)
I know if I accidentally bite my cheek, bumpy swelling will occur right along where I bit it. And since it swells, it gets bitten again, which causes it get bigger.
Does that sound like what's happening to you?

have you had a doctor to check up on them? that really doesn't sounds normal to me D:
if I bite my lip, it doesn't swell at all usually, and it doesn't make me sound like a retard... xD

Cherry Flavored Antacid: Yeah that sounds about right...
Sagitar: No it happens a lot in the family. My brother and I are similar when it comes to stuff like that. Just for some reason, I've always been the one who gets rid of it quicker. Maybe because I'm younger.

Bodies are odd creations, more so because everyone is different.
I don't have your problem exactly, but sometimes if I eat too much dairy I get random swelling points. Sometimes the swelling comes to my hands, other times my feet. Annoyingly enough, it goes to my lips/cheeks on rare occasions. It's always random though. It doesn't happen every time I eat a piece of cheese or whatnot.
I do know a small bit about mouth sores, and I can think of two options you can try. One is to swish your mouth with a mixture of salt and warm water (warm as to dissolve the salt) twice a day or more. I would suggest brushing your teeth and tongue before swishing. I'm going to guess that your mouth is very sensitive to the bacteria that's normally in everyone's mouths, but I am no doctor.
The second option is for you to go to a doctor. As a child I had mouth sores and canker sores often, and I remember once they gave me some sort of caplet that I had to pull apart. I had to dissolve the powder inside in some warm water and swish with that. It tasted nasty, and I'm too young to remember the exact pill, but I can only assume it was an antibiotic of sorts.
You may also want to look into gargling often with Listerine if the other options aren't something you want. Try experimenting for a bit to see if it might be our natural bacterias in the mouth that are causing you mouth pain. Best of luck!

I also get sores when I chew on my lip but they're more like miniature ulcers and extremely painful so it doesn't sound like what you have. But then again maybe your mouth just reacts differently.
If you're worried, you might want to go to a doctor but I think it's probably just the stress you put on your lip from chewing on it. If you can, I'd suggest just trying to stop doing that but I know that's hard to do if it's a habit. Maybe just cut back a little? I've noticed I usually get the sores when I bite deep enough for it to bleed.

are you sure they aren't canker sores?
Quote:
What are canker sores?
Canker sores are shallow, painful sores in the mouth. They are usually red or may sometimes have a white coating over them. You might get them on the inside of your lips, the insides of your cheeks, the base of your gums or under your tongue. Canker sores are different from fever blisters, which usually are on the outside of your lips or the corners of your mouth.
Anyone can get canker sores, but women and people in their teens and 20s get them more often. Canker sores may run in families, but they aren't contagious. Doctors don't know what causes canker sores, but they may be triggered by stress, poor nutrition, food allergies and menstrual periods.

Chiairen Hoshino: Thanks! I'll try out that first one. And if it continues much more, I'll go for the doctor!
fevertofuture: Yeah I really need to break the habit...
Thanks everyone, I think I've resolved it.
It can be locked. Thanks again n.n

I would definitely go to the doctors.
I usually get bumps in my mouth/tongue from eating lots of fried/unhealthy food. (I don't really know what they are called or if they are the same thing.) Maybe you should try to be more careful to not pop them. Your mouth heals things pretty quickly so maybe giving it another three to five days to see what can happen. If it gets worst then you should really go to the doctors.
