They won't heal correctly though. And it also depends on how long he has them in. There've been a lot of people who had them big and they never totally heal back, so the end up having saggy, scarred, deformed holes in their ear lobes

I think that might have been what has happened to my friend's ear it's gone like a sideways slit and my other friend who had a stretcher in ended up taking it out because it kept getting infected.

Yea. When it's small, it might have a deformed scar, but the more skin gets stretched out, the harder it is for it to shrink back to it's normal size.

It happens to a lot of women who don't bother to take out their belly ring and allow the hole to completely heal before they get pregnant >.>.

Know a way to never even have to worry about holes closing up? Get your ears pierced as a baby. I was a few months old when my mom pierced my ears (spanish tradition mostly), and i can go years without wearing earrings and the holes don't close ^^

My friend who has the side ways like split in her ear it's still going back she can put normal earrings in but the hole is still big and my other friend who had to take her's out because it got infected has a scar on her ear now where it got the most infected because it was worse on one side than the other.

MMm I myself would Never do that to my ears cause i dont like it...however it dose look good on most people...but I mainly just like the smaller ones...the larger ones scare me.

I had 0g plugs for a long while, but decided they were too big after a period of time, and let them shrink back to 2g's. And I took those out after a while and they're now back to about an 8g, and they will not go back any further than that. I don't normally wear jewelry in them now, but every now and again I stick my plugs in. :D I still like them, so I'm fine with it, but for anyone who wants to get plugs, just know that they DO NOT grow back after you've stretched them to a certain point.

But my lobes aren't all odd-looking. I just have slits for holes instead of tiny holes. Doesn't bug me any, and no one else really can tell they were stretched. It looks like I wore heavy dangling earrings for too many years...

I think plugs are hot, sooo yeah. XP But I'm not easily grossed-out either. :D

I must say the worst pain was going from a 2g to a 0g. I had that stretch done professionally with a taper, but I did the rest all by myself, from my tiny 18g holes all the way to 2g. Always after a shower. That's by far the best time to gauge your ears.

I wouldn't have it done myself, but I have no problem with them :) Small ones look quite cool, they're different to just your ordinary earrings. There was one girl who I used to know who stretched her ears to 24mm or more, they were huge and just looked wrong :?

I have many friends and a sister that have their ears gauged, I find it horrible. My uncle had his gauged to a 4 at one point in time, and he had to take them out for a new job, and they did not close up even the slightest bit and had to spend a good amount of money to get them sewn up.

Ive been trying to stretch my ear also
i went from a normal peircing to a 1.8 straight away and damn yes it hurt
i now want to go to a 2, but thats gonna hurt alot more than the 1.8
i also want to get a peircing at the top of my ear on the cartilage but that is also going to hurt x.x
anyways i guess im wierd because pain is a turn on for me and i like it :D

Just thinking about them is making me squirm... u__u;; I don't mind the smallest ones. I think it can look alrigt on the right person... but gosh, when your lobe is stretched so i could almost stick my hand through the hole... IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK. Besides... when you get old that's just going to be even more disgusting. X___X;

I think the small ones look okay, but my personal preference is that when you can start sticking fingers into them, they're too big. xD I just don't like how they look at that point. I don't think I'd ever do it to my own ears either.

...There's a smell? o_O I never knew that. Why does stretching them make them smell?

I actually really like most piercings and tattoos, so long as you don't go overboard with them. As for myself, I've only got my ears pierced, but I have three tattoos. Love 'em. Seriously though, what's up with the 'They'll look bad when you're old!' thing? What, are 70 year olds supposed to be winning modeling contests or something? Face it guys, very few people look good when they're old no matter what they do or don't do to their bodies. A piercing or tattoo is not going to change that. =/

ehh i think the small ones are fine but when it comes down to something like 1 gauge then itss just rediculous..
i have an industrial, my belly button, my tongue pierced and a tongue ring in my cartilage..
the industrial was the worst pain ever but ehh it took forever to heal like almost a year!
hmm i have a tattoo on my lower backk that took 2 and a half hourss!
it wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be but yehh!<3

I think I've seen some native Africans with gauged ears. Man, does that look horrible. I mean, how could do something like that to their ears? But yes, small ones can look cool, I've met a guy with rather small holes once- wasn't really an eyesore. But I dun wanna have drropy ears when I become a haggard crone.
As for the smell... Well, I've heard of no such thing.

What do i think about gauged ears?well i can't say i don't like them but they do smell badly ( my friend has that:P) but anyways, i would never gauge my ears i don't think it look nice on me. i have a nose Piercing, eyebrow, ears peirced, and a lip pierced the lip hurt the most. i do have a couple of tattoos i have a heart with wings on my lower back with my boyfriend name on it where getting married :). i also have one on my arm and its a butterfly don't ask i like butterflys and then on my back i have a skull and under my name.

I might get one someday. I haven't decided yet. They're really cool looking, but they do smell terrible. Does anybody know what causes the smell?

I think that the smell only goes away when their large enough to heal in the inside.
Like I had a friend that had pretty big ones, but the inside was completely healed, like just completely skinned over, but any smaller, i think they can't heal inside and stay sorta raw.

I'm pretty sure they smell though because of getting like soap in there and it ends up smelling.
It's sorta like when you have normal sized piercings, and when you don't wear earrings for a while, you can press on them and white goo comes out. ICK
But with stretchers, it's like that, just 5x the goo xD

I don't really like how guaged ears look at all. On some people, small ones looks all right, but on most people it just looks gross when they're really big. And I've never smelled them. >__<

Mmmm... gauging. I am really one of those folks who says whatever floats your boat, go for it. But I would not gauge my ears myself. It just is not my thing.

Now tats on the other hand, I adore those. I have two myself. One of a baby wolf cub howling at the moon upon my arm, and one of a gryphon cub on my leg. I have more tat ideas in my head as well, but I do not have a solid plan for them as of yet! *laughs*
