Well, there's a LOT of POTC fan business going on around here, and Sweeney Todd as well. I just wanna know if people know about the "musical" Johnny Depp was in.

I watched Cry Baby as a kid and it was really funny. Reminds me of the musical/movie, Zombie Prom, but also has its differences.

Note: Johnny Depp and Amy Locane (Cry Baby & Allison Vernon-Williams) don't really sing here...their songs are voiced by other people. I still like this musical though.

The movie takes place in the 1950s, where Cry Baby and Allison, both orphans, meet at their school. Allison is a "square," a well-bred rich girl who's tired of being good. Cry Baby is a "drape," raised to be the leader of his own gang and avenges the death of his parents by doing something rotten every day. He has the ability to drive girls wild by shedding one single solitary tear.

Seriously, this movie was amazing.
Freaking loved it..even if it was hella corny.

Johnny Depp never looked so good <3

I really wish I had the movie, but sadly I don't.

You can get it at Circuit City for like, 10 bucks. IT WAS TOO CORNY BUT THE "FRENCH KISSING" SCENE (which was just gross...unlike normal French kissing) MADE ME LOSE MY APPETITE! UUUUGH >.< Too damn intense and gross for me.

Yeah, we don't have one of those here. Sad D;

Yeah..especially with the old people. The kid switching lolly pops was cute though.

I absolutely hated that one girl's bangs though..ugh they bugged me so much.

That sounds familiar, but I can't say for certain.

Which one?? LOL they all had bangs XD and yes the kids switching lollipops were cute though.

Allison's boyfriend (Baldwin) was such an ass though...you know he tries to act all hard and stuff but he's really a geek. "Allison, come home with me! They beat me and kicked me..." It sounds like a guy in some video on Youtube I saw. He just wants her to be his little suburban wife to do anything for him.

Oh jeeze..I can't remember her name. The one that was replaced with that Helga girl or whatever and was going to be sent off. The bus drivers daughter. You're right though..all of their bangs were horrible xD

Crybaby had some sweet hair though. The sexy beast.

Yeah, Baldwin annoyed me. I mean..even his name is annoying. "Baldwin". Gah! I seriously wanted to just punch him in the face...but I suppose thats how guys just acted back then. Wanting the "perfect" wife.

Cry Baby was a very funny movie. They wanted to make it as cheesy as possible and it had really good actors with hilarious roles.

wow, i have not seen this movie in awhile xD
i remember when i first saw it, i immediately loved the music, and the story, and it all seemed to fit together.

it didn't hurt that johnny depp or ricki lake was in it, i was like, hey, it's edward scissorhands, since this film was WAY before the potc craze xD

but i love this movie, like most john water films, it's the best.

I use to watch this movie non-stop. Annoyed the hell out of my mom and brothers xD I still think it is an amazing movie but not my favorite ^^; It's amusing for a parody and has some pretty good acting, in my opinion.

Cable Induced Coma: Oh I know who you're talking about. That's Wanda. I found it rather funny when she was "talking" to Inga/Helga/whatever her name is about how girls in America love HOT BOYS and all the transfer girl can say is "ja" the whole time, not understanding a word being said.

It's Johnny Depp and his hair, what can you expect?

PrettyKitty: It's rare that it would actually be played on TV...it just so happened that it did last week, in like, a lot of years.

ziggida: Yes, it was VERY cheesy...especially for the hillbillies vs. rich people thing!!

Eileanora: Ricki Lake is cool XD I loved her in the original Hairspray movie, but that's a different story. She was a fitting sister for Johnny Depp though!!

secretdae: I don't think my mom's EVER seen the movie. Not that I'd want her to either.

yeah, ricki lake did such a great job in both movies, i use to watch her talk show all the time on channel 13 as well xD

lately? Johnny Depp has always done dark movies, christ, the movie that really kind of put him on the radar was Edward Scissorhands. He's got a huge amount of depth, and has done a lot of none dark roles, but for years he was every goth girl's dream boy. I should know.

now, he's every 12 year old's dream boy... which is just weird and uncomfortable :|

anyway, back to the topic, Crybaby is a fantastic movie. It's stuck with me for years, I've never been able to get the scene where she's crying and collecting her tears in a mason jar out of my head. Anytime that movie is mentioned, it's the first thing that pops into my head.

John Waters is such a fantastic director <3 but, as much as I love hairspray and crybaby, and all his other work, my favorite movie is Cecil B. Demented. I want to be a renegade movie girl ><

Well yeah I'm just saying it's different from everything else of his I've seen (except POTC isn't really dark...so that doesn't count.)

The mason jar thingie was like...gross. I hope that was actual water instead of tears.

I loved Cry Baby and still do to this day. I think that is when I fell in love with Johnny Depp as well. I loved the characters and I have always loved the 50s-60s era. I am not sure why.. maybe it was the pony tails and poodle skirts or the guys from that era.

My favorite part is in the end when she is singing that please Mister Jailer song. I just loved that and the rat that laughed at him while he was trying to break out lol.
