I couldn't really tell it so much at first, but that's more because the pale skin isn't pale enough. I swear, if this were gaia, you could use the clown makeup and the blue tie...but nuuuu mene doesn't have em. xP Lmao.
Anyways. I'm more liking the first one theme-wise because it shows off the upper part of the costume better than the handkerchief which hides it. But the handkerchief helps distribute more of the color. x.x;
