Like a lot of people, I thought it was a lot like Gaia. *--* I quickly realized that it wasn't and saw that there was no spamming and stuff.

...It was wonderful. xD

I was a little afraid of the moderators because everyone kept saying they were evil and would yell at you if you did one little thing wrong. :0 And the people who hated everyone from Gaia scared me as well/discouraged me a bit.

I thought that it was a cute site with cute avatars. =3 I liked the island theme to it, since I love the ocean, and I just thought it was, well... cute. xD

My first impression was- Wow...this place is slooow compared to Gaia. xDD

I left for a long time. But after I came back I realized how literate and nice people were and decided to stick around ^^

So I suppose it was good.

@ clockwork; I was scared of the mods too! But then I realized they were actually very kind. Isn't it good how the mods and NPCs interact with us, unlike on Gaia?

Don't hate me, but... my first impression of Menewsha was bad. I'm one of the first few hundreds to join here.
I just joined, introduced myself (if I remember it right) and then disappeared. Considering the default gold we have that time (I think it was 150g), how hard it is to obtain money to buy some decent clothing, and how uh... unappealing the first items were, I decided to leave.

But when I decided to drop by few months ago, I was surprised to see the improvement---from the site activity to the items available for our avatars.

My first thought was how pretty the avatars were.

Then massive joy basically, because there was NO SPAM, not a BUMP in sight, and hardly any chatspeak.

and because it was so small when I joined, I loved how cosy it felt, and how you got to recognise just about everyone, I kind of miss that now, because numbers have grown.

There was a time, up until the last time the referrals were run and the Tektek ad I suppose, when I could look at the 'Who's online' section, and recognise every single name, now I don't know who anyone is so much, and there's a lot more spammy people about ._.

My first thoughts, and you'll have to pardon me for not having many posts under my belt. I'm a bit of a lurker, were: "oh, so thats what Gaia was -supposed- to be like, once upon a time."
Seriously, in spite of the slow pace I'll be earning gold? This place is so much better. I'd rather earn gold little slower than put up with some of the other drek.
My other thought was to have a chuckle over the name, which is cute. I can see a lot of word play in it.

Like many, I did compare this to Gaiaonline at first, but not "omgwtfgaiaripofflolz" I just thought it was another avatar community, and since there wasn't a lot of members at the time. (A huge amount of mules were created during march, not many people were there.) I signed up, got a long with almost everyone, then I kept this as my home. I do have to admit the front page was kind of cluttered, the fact that there was no banners representing the new items in June/July, and the first items were really expensive and not really appealing to be honest. It was pretty rough to earn gold back then as not many people were on, so I would greet newbies to the site and so on. I do like how the site evolved, in a good way.

Well I saw my sister play this alot and my first total thoughts of this was "wow that must be boring, how can someone just sit there and type all day its soo boring!"

But now that I actually am on it, I feel that it's actually fun voicing your own opinion about things and meeting new people :)

my first impression was that it was a lot like roliana. and I didn't like the gold system. then I started to go to the GD and saw that people can actually be civilized and talk in a semi intelligent way. I can actually type out more then a paragraph and people will read it all the way through. I love mene. I've even been on here more then gaia or zan to be honest. I also love the avis items.

I like the site i think its cute and i like to watch how sites grow. my only thing is because of the slow pace in which things move here it doesnt really keep my attentions as say a faster site would. im not a fan of the gold system only casue im an avatar shop o holic. luckally not one in real life. I never seem to post enough to make money. I would like it to be easier to get clothes.

Well... I think it was something about:

My first impression was really good. From first time I saw those beautiful avatars here, I fell in love. Quick look at shops told me that all clothes also are pretty nice.
Then I quickly read the rules and started looking aroudn in GD. I was really impressed. No spam, no bumping, just normal conversations - how different from boring and annoying - for me - Gaia! Yep, all these differents from Gaia for me was only positive things.
But I gold system was killing me xD I loved idea of getting money mostly for posting, but it was really hard for me - typical lurker with no friends here (argh, I'm still like that -_-). From time to time I posted something, but mostly I was lurking, lurking and lurking. But still I liked Menewsha for its atmoshpere, no spamming etc.
So first impression? Menewsha! Oh, such a wonderful place!

Well, my first thoughts of Menewsha was...

*Oooo, so new!~* and then the thought change to...

*Gold is so hard to get* and that was because I didn't
talk much. Well, I still don't, but more then before. xD

I'm still kind of on the fence about it. I joined just in time to miss the halloween event, and kind of felt like I was on my own. No starting money, not even rags or *something* to wear. People are nice, but I dunno, it kind of feels cold sometimes, it's a small community and people kind of cling to eachother, and ignore everyone else. Makes it a little hard to find a place on the site.

It still kind of bothers me that gold is so difficult to earn in comparison to how expensive the majority of the items are. I really feel like there should be some alternate ways to earn gold. I understand the emphasis on community, but sometimes it's nice just to screw around on the site and play games that don't require a huge investment of gold to make any money off of, or the chance of losing everything you bet :\

I have a better opinion of it than I did before, but there is still a lot of room for improvement.

I thought the avatars were very impressive, and there were like NO noobs in the forums, unlike Gaia. It was a refreshing shift from the chaotic cesspool of Gaia to the chill and friendly Mene. I thought that the gold system was very unfair at first, but I'm very glad it's there. If it wasn't the way it was now, this place would be crawling with noobs and bots.

I remember thinking, "...this looks kind of interesting."
I find the avvies cute. And it took me awhile, but I found some stuff in the shops that I like and want.

At first it seemed a little confusing, but I caught on pretty quick and I really like that. If it takes too long to figure something out or things are just too complicated, I generally give up on the site.

But I've been here about 2 days, and I'm loving it so far-my boyfriend, however, is NOT. :D

Well, since I'm still new being only 3 days old I guess I can give you my first thoughts of Menewsha. I love the avatars!! And what I have seen of the clothes so far I love!! I am a little nervous about earning gold because it seems like you have to be on here all day long doing nothing but typing to earn any, but I'll give it a shot. It will be a lot easier here than a lot of other places because the people here seem to be of a little higher intellect and there isn't all of that abbreviation stuff (which I can't understand a lot of). The Valentine's event has been fun so far. The people have been very, very nice. And that's about all so far.

My first impression of Menewsha was that it was very cliquey because it was such a small site. I was nervous to join in conversations because i felt there was more people here who, because they claim to be into 'literate' discussion would confront me for not having the same posting style as them.

Don't get me wrong, i'm intelligent & i can hold an interesting conversation, i just don't like feeling like my posts have to be gramatically perfect all the time, for people to accept me.

I don't think thats so much the case anymore, but i still think there are different cliques on Menewsha, and that although the members are helpful and generally friendly that it can be a hard site to fit into when you join.

I found Menewsha from a Gaia thread
and when i came here, i singed up 'cos i like signing up to things
had a look around for a little while and almost instantly thought
'This Looks a lot Better than Gaia'
'cos really, I think Gaia's pixel art and items are half-arsed.
That and they're running out of ideas for new items and are just ripping off other things and urgh, they're starting to annoy me so much now.

so yah, when i first came I thought Mene=better than gaia

Still think the same

(AND things are so damned expensive on Gaia 'cos everyone's greedy and stuff)

Well I'm really new to Menewsha and my first thoughts of the place so far, is that it is a nice community of civil and happy people. ^__^ People seem intelligent enough to hold real conversations on here too. So plus!

I really like the clothes too, everything is so cute! It's hard to pick which item I want to buy first.
