I don't think I have road rage...but ZOMG!!!...WHY DO PEOPLE NEVER USE THEIR BLINKERS?!!! Do they think it's just an orament?!

Why on earth do people not use their blinkers when they're switching lanes on the highway going 75 miles an hour?!

Does this happen to anyone else????? Or am I just lucky? I mean, I ALMOST DIED cause some idiot decided to randomly switch lanes without giving me a headsup of any sort! They have NO RIGHT OF WAY on the highway if they're coming in from a different lane...wtf?!

How did these people EVER pass any driving school????

if someone is comming off a ramp and trying to merge into traffick, they do have the right of way since the lane ends.

or if you mean they change lanes without using a blinker, then, that's what most (not me) everyone does. they think they're moving fast enough that if they move over, they wont hit anyone. others are just dumb

Not all states require you to take a driving course.

It annoys me that people don't use their turn signals when changing lanes, but that's something that I've just come to live with really. I know it's not going to happen all the time and I'm fine with that. I know that I personally signal every time I have to turn or I decide to merge into another lane.

This actually belongs more in the General Discussion forum though, not the debates. You only gave one stand to discuss.

Oh, sorry, clarifying:
They weren't coming off a ramp. Just on inner but non-carpooling lanes.

And on where it belongs...er, oops. o.o' So do I close this and post it there or what should I do? ^^'''

I'll admit, I've been guilty of not turning on my blinker, but only when there's no one around me. Like my little road going home, it's rare that someone is driving through it, so when I check the mirror and no one is around I just don't turn it on before I turn. Mom always yells at me for it. xD I probably should get into the habit of always turning it on though. However, I do make sure to turn it on when there are people around, if only because I know how much it annoys me. Another thing that annoys me is when they turn it on after they've switched lanes. What's up with that?

Yeah..for me that confuses me too..when people have their blinkers on but they're not actually turning, it's just stuck or something, and then I'm really paranoid about when they're turning vs. not and I make random abrupt semi-stops because I think they're about to turn. x.x'

But for me, the blinkers on are less of a pet peeve. Or maybe, it's that the blinkers on are a pet peeve, but the no-blinkers-while-switching-lanes thing is just flat out scary. o_o'

OMG, I hate when people don't use their turn signals for a close merge~ like if theres an empty lane, sure people might not mind if you decide on not using the signals, but if you wanna squeeze in front of me use your Fing lights~! Its like they expect people to be able to read their minds or something~! I don't know what your doing, why are you getting so close to me? Gosh maybe I should stop letting people shove me around, next time, I'm soo honking ._. like go back to school dude :?

I don't even mind if people squeeze in front of me--hell I'll give em the space if I know they're trying to get in...But it's when I have not a clue what they're doing and they miss me by like 2 inches that it freaks me out bigtime.

I hate that too. There's no reason to make driving more stressful than it already is and that's what happens when people don't use their turn signals. It really doesn't take that much time and effort to use them either.

I have issues with driving because whenever I'm stressed in life I tend to take it out on the road. I don't actually do anything like road rage, I just get really stressed over simple things like people riding way to close to me.

When my dad and stepmom visited California...I don't know where they went specifically, but apparently no one used turn signals and the drivers were so aggressive that if someone put on a turn signal others would speed up so that they couldn't change lanes.

I hate when people do that too. Actually on the freeway when the lane ends, people are supposed to wait for traffic to be clear before merging that way they're not disrupting traffic flow. People don't seem to get that. Merging lanes don't give you the right of way, the incoming traffic has the right of way. It works the same as a yield sign.

Anyway, besides people not turning on their turn signals, another thing that really bothers me is when people cut me off or stop too close to my car. I'm really paranoid about people getting too close to my car since I had someone rear end me before from behind when stopping.

That kind of always happens here and I mean, always. People don't seem to care at all about their cars even though in the US if you hit a car your car gets fixed right away but, here in Puerto Rico it is a pain to make the other person pay you the gold if they had the fault.

No one ever follow rules and hey only goes into this mode of "I gotta get there fast.", which makes usually all the accident happen.

No one uses their blinkers where I live. Well, that is, except for me and a few rare others. Didn't you know that you're supposed to have divine vision that goes 10000 meters from where you're at. And with this divine vision, you're supposed to know the motives and movements and future of the people around you?

People seem to think you know what they're going to do. -_-; That's not true. The blinker is there so that people can tell what lane you're headed into, and where you intend to turn at...it's not just some silly thing they added on that doesn't exist on the car. Dx

So yeah...and I hate when people zoom off the ramp and cut across traffic to the farthest lane without a blinker, going 20 mph too fast, and almost hit every single car in each lane, just so they can jump lanes all around so they can get past the "slowpokes."

I wish the cops would do something around here about it. People like that are frequent. I live in a city. Dx

I don't like when people are making out at a traffic light and it turns green and they're still making out and not driving. -.-' Life is not a romance movie, guys...get a room!

I fucking hate when people just STOP in the middle of the road without putting their hazard lights on or ANYTHING. It happens a lot in San Francisco. They'll just have their car hanging out there in the middle of the street as if the whole lane is a parking space. :x

when you're making a turn, and there's some @$$hole behind you who has a limited perspective and no viewpoint about what is going on keeps honking their horn expecting you to turn.

as an example, i was making a left hand turn into another lane. there was no traffic, but there were pedestrians who were walking across the street directly in the lane that i needed to turn into. this guy behind me kept honking his horn expecting me to move. what did this guy want me to do? run over pedestrians just so he could make a turn? there was even a traffic cop there giving the signal that i couldn't turn because pedestrians were in the way, but the guy kept honking.

and another time, there was heavy oncoming traffic, and immediately after i stopped to take take a turn, another guy kept honking his horn expecting me to move. i guess he expected me to nearly crash into oncoming traffic just so he can make a turn. obviously my biggest pet peeve. not to mention it did not take me long to find a clear opening, so for him to start immediately honking his horn for me to move was incredibly ridiculous. biggest pet peeve ever.

That drives me nuts. Cars are made with turn signals why not use them. I can not stand people who drive while holding a dog on their lap. How are you suppose to have control of your car. What if the dog hits your arm and you swerve into someone. I can not stand it. Also people who drive slow in the fast lane. Come on people move to the right lane so we can pass.

I'm a new driver, just got my liscence.
and I can't help but want to go the speed limit,
but when I do, I get like...5 friggin cars that pass me because they're apparently in such a damn hurry.

I also hate people who don't signal, and people the idiots who try and weave in and out of traffic to get ahead of everyone else ><;

lol, that's what carriers are for. the only way a pet of mine is not in a carrier in a car is if there is somebody else in the car to hold him, otherwise, he'll be wandering all over the car simply out of curiosity. but not only is that dangerous to the driver, but it is dangerous to the animal too. people should really think before they drive.

but another pet peeve that i forgot to mention that drives me nuts is cell phones in a car. between dialing, holding a cell phone, and talking, i'm surprised anybody can use a cell phone and drive properly at the same time. in fact a friend of mine got into a severe car accident because a driver was talking on a cell phone, and completely drove through a stop sign. if people know that a cell phone is going to be a problem there is plenty of hands free technology, and if somebody calls me while i'm driving, i either pull over, quickly state i'm driving and can't talk, or ignore the call completely. i do have a friend of mine that completely uses her cell phone in the car all the time, and it drives me insane. she's also gotten into plenty of accidents. damn cell phones.

From the poll question. I think that older people, about 65 and older, should get requalified for their drivers lisence every 5 years. I have seen some older peolpe driving and they are alway going really slow or all over the road. I think their health and eye sight should be a determining factor also.

I haven't been driving much, for I still only have my permit, but there are still some things that I notice other drivers doing that really Ps me off.

1.) Turning/Merging without turning on the blinkers. It's an accident waiting to happen.

2.) Tailgating AKA GET OFF MY ARSE! That's possibly the most annoying one. I hate it when tailgaters are driving 2 inches away from the bumper of the car.

3.) Flying around curves at nearly 70 MPH. People do that in my neighborhood and I fear for my life when I'm walking to the library or work.

4.) Parking in two parking spaces in a crowded parking lot. I can understand if you don't want anyone to hit your brand new mercedes or viper, but parking in two parking spaces is highly annoying when the parking lot is already highly overcrowded.

Those are just some that come to the top of my brain, I'm sure that there's a lot more that I'm forgetting to give credit to.

I despise when I get stuck behind someone who thinks that because of a little rain/snow they should be driving 20mph.
Also older folks who think that by driving slow all the time that they are being careful and safe, WRONG your causing traffic jams and road rage.
Last but not least the opposite, when I'm already going 10mph over the speed limit and someone passes me and pulls away fast. You know they got to be doing 20-30 over the speed limit and that's not safe where I'm from...lots of twisty roads.

I hate really long traffic lights and student drivers who are terrified so they drive at like 10 mph. ugh.
