Okay, I just got this thingie last month on a whim (well, mainly because FFVII: Crisis Core is coming out next month) and I only have two things for it (three in actuality but I'm returning one of the games).

There's NOT MUCH STUFF I've seen available for PSP...well, anything good or interesting to my taste.

I've currently got Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles, FFVII: Advent Children (had to order that online), and I'm gonna return Crash of the Titans.

So I need game suggestions. I MAY buy Syphon Filter and Silent Hill Origins. I'm definitely gonna buy Final Fantasy 1 and 2, but NOT TACTICS...I already have that for PS1 and it sucks.

Sorry if there's been a thread on this made already but yeah...I don't even know if there's anything good out for the PSP besides kick-butt movies.

Well, for my PSP I have only six games myself. I got it originally because Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth was coming out on it - and the original Valkyrie Profile game is now around $200 and up (for the first Playstation). So I figured, since there were other games coming out on the system, I would just get one and save money on Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth. Now I still want the orignal game...^^;

I have Magna Carta Portable, which is in Japanese, and Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core (also in Japanese). I've got FFVII: Crisis Core pre-ordered - the English release. :3 I'm so looking forward to that. I've had a blast in the Japanese version but I've had to rely on online scripts to know what they're saying.

I have Silent Hill Origins, but I haven't played it yet. I can't recommend it, but I know a lot of people say it's amazing - so if you do like Silent Hill, I would get it. I plan to put it in once I finish the Japanese copy of Crisis Core.

I have no idea if you like too many RPGs...so I can't really recommend a lot. :( Do note that PSP has no region coding, so you're safe to import. I plan on importing a few games for the PSP that *cough*BandaiNamco*cough* won't be releasing here...

Yeah I'm a sucker for RPGs but I don't like scary games. Not one for sports, either. There's like, NO games that really interest me in the stores right now. Possibly Jeanne D'Arc after I get FF1 and 2 but other than that I'll probably end up ordering games online. I also like dance games...like...Parappa Da Rappa, but that probably doesn't count.

Can't wait for Crisis Core! I swear I'll be up all night playing that thing and at school NOT listening to the class in lecture halls! My friends told me about the non-region code thingie but still I dunno what games to buy. But my best friend (Digital Kakashi, aside from Donna) is like, begging me to buy Silent Hill: Origins. So...maaaaaaybe. Coz yeah, I'm not a fan of scary games. Can't even sit through Silent Hill 2 without a buddy!

MasterChiefrei: XDD I bought a DS last August when I visited Digital Kakashi over the summer...I think it's waaay better than PSP >.< but now I have both consoles XDDD Get a DS first though, you'll be MUCH more happier.

Well, it took me some getting used to for playing scary games, but if I couldn't handle something that would be on a portable system where only I could play it, I'm not sure I would get Silent Hill: Origins if I were you. I understand it does stay true to the other games in a lot of ways, so yeah...get what you want, not what your friends recommend.

Are you into older games? Sega Genesis Collection is really good for the PSP. It has a variety of games on it, and it just has old Sega Genesis games on it - I have a blast with it. ^_^; It's great for a portable system, since the games are usually shorter or whatever. ^^;

I am really excited for Crisis Core as well. :3 I am so glad I imported it, because it's FUN. It's really easy, and not terribly long either. I'm getting close to finishing it, but it has missions in it I need to complete that will help me level up. ^^;

The DS has more options. I really want one of those. I think I'd have one over the PSP, if not for certain few games coming out.

Tales of the World is an RPG out on the PSP as well. That one is in English, if you know/like the Tales of series at all. ^^;

Hope that helps; if not, good luck finding some games to make your PSP worth the money you put into it. ^_^

Yeah I've heard of the Tales Of _________ series...so maybe that. Anything Sega is hot too. I think there was a Sonic game I wanted to buy but didn't have the cash on me.

Alright! I shall get me a DS when I save up the money! XD Glad you think it's better too and I'd rather get something I really like before spending a lot of money on something I might not fancy as much. ><;

Yup, right now I'm trying to figure out what games are good for PSP and what games there are available because all I've seen lately are a bunch of movies and crappy games.

Ohmigosh...Darkstalkers...*drool* I love Morrigan ^_^ She's been my idol since the seventh grade when I first played Marvel vs. Capcom. Anyway I headed to the Gamestop nearest my university...they didn't have anything interesting there, and I've already looked at the three other gamestops in my local neighborhood itself as well as Best Buy, Target, and Circuit City. Maybe the next place to look is the Toys R Us where my ex boyfriend used to work XD But if not, I'm really going to end up just ordering stuff online like I did with Advent Children.

Crisis Core is SO TOTALLY WORTH IT.

I got the Japanese version when it first came out, and WOW!!! The graphics are amazing, the voice actors were great (and Gackt didn't ruin the mood, which made things even better!)

I could rave on and on about the game, but I won't.

My only fear is that when it gets ported to English, the new Voice Actors won't do it justice.

---

But yeah, there are few other games that seem worth having a PSP for. My brother got it for some Mega Man game.... we share the PSP between us simply because there isn't enough stuff that we both want to play at the same time to justify me spending a chunk just for my very own. (although I was tempted for the LE FF:CC slim version)

I do have a handful of UMD movies for it. I sneak it into work with me and watch them on the slow nights at work after my supervisor goes home....

I've only had my PSP since February and already I have six games for it (seven when Crisis Core comes out). Their all RPG games so if that's what you're into then this will prolly be useful ^^
Final Fantasy II (not played yet)
Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos (really good so far and you have the option to use either Japanese or English voices with English subtitles for either)
Riviera: The Promised Land (haven't played it yet but it has the same option as above)
Ys: The Ark of Napishtim (I've played it for the PS2 it's really good)
Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology (really addicting - make your own character type game but with characters from all the other Tales games)
Legend of Heroes III: Song of the Ocean (haven't played yet)

I want a PSP! I'm appalled that anyone thinks FFT sucked on the PSX, it was one of the much better FF games. I understand if you don't like strategy RPGs then it isn't up your alley, but if you didn't see the story for what it was, I think 95% of the FF fandom might try to convince you otherwise. I want FFT for PSP, I've seen the upgrades from the first version of it, and it makes my mouth water. FFT is much much better than anything after the PS2 era of FF games - and even topples VIII, VII, and V in terms of storyline and characters. Plus it has the best soundtrack of the entire seires...

More than that, my inner fangirl cannot be denied, and as such, I want Tales of the World 4. Yes, it's the fourth in that series, but the only one with a create-your-own-character. This is dwarfed by FFT, wherein you can create your own personal ARMY.

(which is dwarfed by Disgaea, as you can only have a certain number in FFT) I heard Disgaea was having a release on the PSP, too.

If you like Sega games they remade an old sega game called Ghouls' n Ghosts for the PSP. I laughed so hard when I saw it because I still have my sega version; it's called Ultimate Ghosts 'N Goblins.

Augh...I want a PSP so badly. It's silly, I think, that I should want it for the same reasons that you do/did. All the games you mentioned were the games that I was thinking about buying...especially Crisis Core. Gawd, that game looks so beautiful. I'm really thinking about going out and getting a PSP just because it looks so BEAUTIFUL, but I'm SUPPOSED to be saving up for something, so...I really shouldn't. I WOULD, though, if I hadn't just lost a hundred and a half dollars. I have NO idea how that even happened, but I'm thinking that someone stole it. Not that it matters, right?

Well, anyway, I hope you enjoy your PSP~!

If you have to get one, get the Slim version. They load the graphics faster.

I'm still not sure I would have purchased a PSP 'just' for that game, so I'm really glad I had someone elses to borrow for it.

But if they make a few more decent games - which they probably will - then I'll be forking over the dough for my own. And I'll get a slim and hand my brother his ancient fat one back. Hehehe.

@ Jezriel IGN has a list of games available and which ones are/are not being released in the North America. It looks like there are going to be some good games. I can't wait for Birth By Sleep.

I'm pickig up Crisis Core either tomorrow or on Friday

I just recently got back into PSP gaming, so I got a great deal on craigslist. I had lost my old one, so I figured I'd just buy a new one. I got the white Star Wars edition, slim version, as to my old fat, black PSP. I put custom firmware on mine so I don't have to buy my games.. But I'm not sure if discussing modified devices is accepted on Menewsha, since I'll admit that I didn't read the rules thoroughly, just skimmed through it. But yeah, I've go a few suggestions for you.

RPG's:
.Patapon (Rhythm based RPG gameplay.)
.Jeanne D'arc (Tactical RPG with a great portrayal of French freedom fighter Joan of Arc.)
.Wild Arms XF (Western-based tactical RPG.)

Hack and Slash:
.God of War: Chains of Olympus

Not much I can recommend since I just got back into the PSP, and I haven't had a chance to play all the better games yet.

I fell into temptation (I'm so weak :cry:). The voice acting in Crisis Core is pretty good; Zack isn't at all what I would have expected.
