I too think the same.
PMs=bad news. (especially when the username has a different highlight color. xD.)
I guess many people I know (like me.) do not PM my friends.

Vikicat, believe it or not I do actually know how to check if someone is a real mod or posing as one. It WAS a real mod thank you very much. I am not an idiot, please don't make me out to be one.

Well gee, I wasn't trying to make you out to be one. I've gotten my fair share of people pretending to be mods and admins of Gaia and have seen them say similar things like that before. I knew Gaia mods were bad, but I didn't think they would dare stoop that low. Please don't accuse me of things, I was only trying to help.

Another irrational fear I have is dropping something off a bridge, falling off a bridge, or a bridge collapsing while I'm on it.
When I was a little kid, I'd always roll up all the car windows when we went over a bridge. I'd always feel like my stuffed animal would get blown right out the window and go into the river. Or anything else I had with me.

It's the same in malls. A mall I used to go to a lot had two levels, and on the upper level, it had big cut outs in the floor (that had railings around them, of course) and I always felt that if I got near them, I'd accidentally drop something, and it would fall down to the first level, and someone would steal it.

I love PMs! =DDD Cause usually it would contain free art for me of my characters. XDD;

I hate falling down into the highway. All those cars!! And high buildings, I would faint on the spot!

I have a fear of bathroom mirrors. I wonder if that counts? It's not the Bloody Mary thing. I just don't like to look at them. Kind of like how little kids are scared of clowns. D:

Authority scares me too, I guess. Haha. I tend to get very... uncomfrotable and bashful whenever someone who has SOME authority over me (adult, police, teacher... etc.) tells me something bad. D:~ As in... I messed up somehow. D:~ </3

I'll admit, back when I was a newbie on Gaia, I was a bit of a Troll. ^.^;

-giggles- Well anyways, so I got two warnings same night and got banned for a week. I was like "I'm never doing that again." And since then, I've become literate, random, and non-spammy. :]

I'm the total opposite, I'm like

'OH YEAH, A PM, I WONDER WHO IT IS, DO THEY WANT SOMETHING?! YEEUUUUH!!!!'

I get really excited and hope it's someone to talk or something. XD

O_O I feel the same way. I've yet to get anything here but on gaia they told me my sig was too big. It isn't terrible since I haven't done it since but I always feel like I'll get a PM from a mod about something terrible that I have done.

I get the same way as you. I forgot to put something in quotes like I was supposed to, and I got a warning from a mod.I get upset about htat, since I don't like the Moderators or anyone from the staff being upset at me for doing something that I shouldn't have or for not doing something that I should have.

I used to fear to post a long time ago on menewsha. I had to read my posts 4 times xD Lol. I don't exactly remember why though, maybe it was more strict here to the point of being scary.

I kind of have this fear of people's thoughts about me and of the world giving me bad luck cause I don't do a certain routine. o.0 I also was afraid of being verbally attacked for my views on the internet. Which was why I didn't post much back at this other site.I don't know where the bad luck thing comes from, but I just feel like it would actually happen if I didn't do X thing Y amount of times or something.

Aw that's too bad. XD If it wasn't against the rules, I'd love to goof off in the GD. I go in there now and it's like it's tempting me. So for the most part I stay out of it, because I don't need people tempting me to act like they are and try to make people laugh. I don't want to lose my items and account. x_x But the GD is so funny, everyone is so silly. I wish it wasn't against the rules, especially since everyone in there does that stuff anyways. D:

hehe i dont have that fear...and i dont usually break the rules, so i dont get bad pm's...although it is comforting to know that the mods are actually watching :3

When I get pms on avatar sites anymore, I have a sinking feeling that someone is complaining that I haven't finished their art yet. o_O I haven't had a problem on this site. But I have a backlog on Gaia, due to the fact that I've been so busy and I'm trying to quest for 03 items. ><;;

I'm careful not to break or abuse any rules, so I'm never really worried about moderators or anything like that.

Oh, and on the aforementioned site, I'm always afraid that when I get a pm, it's some random person begging. I also get people asking for free art. ><;;

One time I got a PM saying "*Mod name* has moderated your gold." I nearly had a heart attack because I thought I did something really bad without knowing. xD But it was actually a mod giving me gold for a contest I won. :'D

But yeah, PMs usually scare me because they don't happen too often. Usually they're nice PMs though, so I don't know what I'm afraid of.

I have this irrational fear of anyone being upset with me. I often think people are mad at me when they aren't at all. Every time I have asked, I've gotten a response along the lines of, "Why would I be mad at you? I love you!" I think I just always expect people to feel the worst towards me because I was backstabbed a lot in middle school by people who were supposed to be my friends, and also, my dad does that thing where he'll be very obviously mad at me and say calmly, "I'm not mad."

I've never gotten a warning on Menewsha or any other site. We're very different from Gaia, so you might want to brush up on the rules here.

I'd have to say... Between sitting on a plane and thinking I'm going to die in a blazing firey death... and someing PMing me and black mailing me. Like, one time I was on MSN and someone messaged me and starting talking about secrets of mine. I was so terrified, I later found out it was my friend and I got so pissed off!

I can't stand when people fight. For quite awhile I lived in a situation where, according to others, I didn't do anything right, was always messing things up, and was always causing problems.
So when people fight I feel like it is somehow my fault, that I could have done something better. Even when it has nothing to do with me.
I'm slowly getting over this, thankfully.

It's so sad reading about how warnings have affected people so badly. I used to post on a fairly small sports forum when I was about 12. I didn't know what a troll was and ending up 'feeding' the troll. The main mod put up a list of 'stupid' people which included myself. Some other members came forward and said the list was unfair and we had learned our lessons but I felt like I couldn't post there ever again and left.

In real life I have an irrational fear of automatic hand dryers. If there isn't one with a button to turn it on I have to dry my hands with paper instead. I think I scared myself by setting one off when I was younger and it was really loud!

I only got warned once, and it was because my signature was too large. That was on Gaia and luckily it was nothing too bad.

I have an irrational fear of private messages as well, but for a different reason. I find it hard to talk to people online. This here is okay, because it opens discussion, but if someone I don't know already messages me and just says 'Hi,' I sit there staring at the screen like 'Oh crap, oh crap, what do I say?' D= I just can't do that chit chat stuff and I usually end up sounding really doofy when I reply.

well ideally PM's are only a problem if you dont know the person who sent it to you. I've gotten plenty from people i RP with and a reply to one where i had to drop some kudos for someone with an awesome signature pic. i got a warning for not putting quote tags on a 6 sentance long post because half the sentances were questions directly from the originating post. I knew it would be trouble just because i didnt recognize the name. But maybe thats where the fear comes from... fear of the unknown and all that.

I rarely get PMs actually, so I would probably be half worried and half wondering about what is inside the PM. But I usually don't do anything against the rules here (I've ready them all a couple of times), so I really don't have any reason to be fearful.

okay...this is pretty crazy, but it's not really a terrible fear.

I am terribly creeped and grossed out by repeating circular patterns like a honey comb, corks or that sort of thing. I can't stand to look at anything that has a bunch of holes in it. they are just really gross. what's weirder still is that I'm not even afraid of bee's or bugs so it makes no sense at all.
