In the Community Discussion forum I recently saw a thread locked because it was necroed. However, the rules of the site and each forum say to find old threads to post in rather then create anew.

What is considered a necroed thread and what forums are you aloud to make a new thread if the old is too old?

I think the cut-off is 6 months or older.....That thread was from last April I think.....so it was definately too old. Not to mention the fact that the person who revived it, kinda made a spam post in it. Then other people just read the first post and replied until it was locked. :o

Broken's right, reviving old threads is ok within reason, but digging one out of the depths from months ago is just pointless.

The ruling to try and minimise repeat threads doesn't mean ones that are that old, once a subject has gone from the first 5 pages or so, we don't expect people to hunt it out.
