To like reading takes practice but once out of the mindset that reading is boring it's really fun. I've stopped reading manga because when I start that's all I do and I don't feel like I'm accomplishing a ton. xD;
I read it again eventually but right now if I'm going to read, it's going to be books.
Plus I like creating vivid pictures with my imagination. It's much less disappointing.

yeah, miyu doesn't have a very good imagination, so reading is just words to me... that's why mangas are so much better for me... XD

I'm sure your imagination is just fine. xD

@xuvrette: Well, it's over now but Rini got second place for two categories. :3
I personally think she should have gotten first in both, but then again she is my sister. xP

I just think she has a lot of talent and potential. x3
I try not to limit myself to a particular genre. I don't like all classics but I do like some. Jane Austen is amazing no matter what era you're from. She has the witty and sarcastic tone that I like.
I also LOVE fairy tales. It's awesome when good writers retell them in novel form and add their own twists to them. ;D

@miyu:
:B
Depends who writes the paragraph. If it's Steinbeck or Dickens it would probably be better off unread. xD

I totally have no passion for classics. lol. It bores me when watching some classic movies, I don't understand. I like fairy tales, now that is something I understand! lol.

I've never read anything by Faulkner and I'm not sure if I will...maybe someday but I guess most people aren't in love with his writings.

@xuvrette: That's why you need to watch the movies more than once to understand hidden meanings and some funny scenes. :3

My sister and I have a passion for fairy tales. xD
We love them. We want to rewrite one and have my sister draw for it. My sister wants to be an animator when she's older so she can make stuff like Disney classics. Quality has gone down in animation since then and she loves that art style as well.

As for rewritten fairytales, you should read Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier. It's so good.

Wildwood Dancing? is about which type of fairy tales?

lol. I still like Cinderella the best. hohoho.
Talking about it... It just reminds me of the topic of the princess's name. Rapunzel, Cinderella, Gretel...is there really such names?

It's a combination of The Twelve Dancing Princesses and Frog Prince. I really love it.

Cinderella isn't my favorite because the prince doesn't really have a personality. Although I love the movie Ever After with Drew Barrymore. He definitely has a personality there.

Gretel is probably a name. And Cinderella is really Ella with Cinder added. :3

@Eve: Yeah. ;D
And fairy tales and Disney.

actually, if you really think about it, most princes don't have a personality except damsel in distress i must save her, sleigh the bad guy, kiss the princess... done... XD

Well, they don't have as much of a personality as the princess, but I love Beauty and the Beast because it has the deepest message and the prince has the most depth to his personality plus at the end he's a sexy Frenchman. xDD

Well, both he and Bell were. But I think the other princess movies would be better if both the girl and guy were equally represented. Not have one be perfect. I love Sleeping Beauty but both the princess and prince didn't have enough personality.

Enchanted was Disney. I liked it but not as much as the classic Disney princess movies. The concept was really cool though.

Yeah, Enchanted was cool. ;33
Most of the funny parts were on the commercial though. D:
But the concept was great,
I like how she fell in love with someone and it wasn't "love at first sight",
although I was a little disappointed at first, because I liked the prince,
but now I'm glad that's how it ended. <3
