Basically I was searching something on Google bar and forgot that I needed another tab. D;
Yea, I was a very happy girl. :D Brought over some tissues and meds. When he is done with Wow, he gives me all the attention I need. That is what I like about him and he is a good listener.
At least you have a desk to put the laptop on there. Nice for a table set by the couch-bed. I guess you relax while being online. :D I am hoping to get a laptop this year or a car. I just hope that I can get everything else paid off before I decide on a big purchase.
I think they had the idea because there were not far from me. D; I should tell them again that whenever a guy comes near and hits on me, one of my guy friends has to pretend to be the boyfriend. XD
Well, for the annual training, it is 2 weeks. But, a person can go to military school, which they can be on orders for x amount of time. Depends on how long the schooling is.
Ahh, I see. D8; I do that too sometimes, but not often when I'm posting something, so I can still hit the back button to return to whatever I was doing in the tab before searching. >.<
Haha~ XD How long have you two been together? 83
Yeah, but I end up relaxing too much when I'm typing up papers too. XD;;
Heh, prices of cars and that of laptops have quite a big difference, no? XD;
Do you currently have a car that you drive?
Haha, that's a good idea. XD Hopefully, one of your guy friends will actually play along when that time comes, instead of not helping you and watching from a short distance away. XD;
So training is optional? 8O Or is it, you have to decide between training and military school?
Some randomness - I have just taken full advantage of the spoiler feature in touching up my front page. X'D
H'okay, back to spoilers for me, since looking at what I have to respond to for Rannie, and adding to that my response for Sakura... my poor post is going to get BUTCHERED. xDDD;; <3<3
Sakura~X
No problem at all, dear~ :'D <3<3 I'll try and stick around as well to help you out too. :3
Hmm, I see, I see. =O Has she gone to work yet then? I hope she at least has taken note of her attitude. :x If not, and that other girl does start to bother you also, you should definitely take it up again with your boss. =O
And wait, bought by another company? =O So you've sort of merged now with the company that bought you? And these people came from the other company? ^^;;
Aww, that's so sweet! :3 It's nice to know then that he's there for you when you need him. :>
I wish the people around me were as caring when I'm sick. xDD;; I mean, I can always feel their love and all, but when they're busy, sometimes their businesses tend to go ahead. ^^;; Not that I mind as much, since I know it's important, but, you know. =P Lolz. xDD;;
OHH, tell me about it. D: Especially when the dreams are the really interesting ones! :x It feels like such a waste when they end. ;_;
And lolz! xDD;; Way to show your mom then how it feels to be poked! =P How did she react though? 8DD;;
And it was a joke? o_O;; LOLZ, I so didn't get that. xDD;; Pardon my denseness then. ^^;;
And lolz, I try not to buy stuff when I window shop. :x But, ermm, it doesn't always work... >.>;;
It's a fault of mine. D: </3
And that's true. :> It's good that you two are open to each other then. ^^ At least, that's what I get from what you've been saying so far. =P <3<3
Lolz! xDD;; I have to drive kinda far though. >.>;; It's not here in the city. D: I will have to try it someday though. 8DD;; Hmm... maybe once the semester gets too stressful for me. x_x;; And then I'll be sure to report to you how it feels to throw plates at targets and not have to pay for the consequences of broken plates. xDD;; <3<3
Rannie~X
Lolz! xDD;; I guess I kinda am the type to do that as well. ^^;; It just sucks when they do it to you most of the time. >.>;; Lololz. 8DD;;
And really? =O Wow, then I don't know how to help you then. ^^;; The Solitaire and Sudoku sessions SHOULD tire your brain out though, because even if you get addicted to it, your mind gets tired a lot faster that way, right? ^^;; If not, then... umm... I dunno. 8DD;; I hope you find a way to tire your mind before bed much faster then. :x For the sake of weekdays, at the very least. 8DD;;
And yeah, so just keep trying at it then~ =P <3<3
Eventually is probably not that far away. ^^;;
Hmm, interesting perspective though. =O Although, to me, art doesn't necessarily have a "stand" at things, because lots of artsies I've seen portray neutrality and indecisiveness anyway. =P Although, I do see what you mean, and I should probably keep that in mind for future reference. ^^;; <3<3
And ohh, I don't think a lot of us have found who we are in a world setting as of yet. >.>;;
I for one don't know either. ^^;;
I'm still learning about my "place in the world" through university. Cause, you see, my university is very active in terms of social issues and whatnot, so, I'm always "forced" (not the right word by a long short, but I'm having a mental block >.>) to see all the current issues and am also "forced" to make a stand. :x Maybe it's not the best environment to learn about the ways of the world, but it's definitely one of the "most real" settings I can learn those lessons in, I think. ^^;;
And hmm... another interesting perspective. =O <3<3 I've honestly never thought of it that way. ^^;; I guess it's because my belief is that almost anything is all right, and it only becomes bad when there's an excess of said all right quality. :x
... I'm not making much sense. >.>;;
And yeah, that's true. =O Makes me wonder though if the staff has something planned for them, which I'm sure they do but they just aren't done with it yet. 8DD;; I'm curious though. :x Although, you're right that the profile pages need some sprucing up~ ^^;; <3<3
And, you just reminded me that I should put something in my About section. >.>;; Don't think I have anything on it, lolz. 8DD;;
Actually, discussing with just two people isn't all that bad. =P It makes for a more itimate debate, if you ask me. xDD;; Of course, the big benefit of having a bigger group to debate with is that more ideas are tossed around for everyone to comment on and all. :>
You're taking a Philosophy GE? =O Coolness~ :> <3<3 I'm sure you'll enjoy it! =P
And yeah, I don't think I'm cut out for Philosophy, even if I highly enjoy it in the first place. xDD;; Kinda like my thing for Interior Design, which we discussed earlier in a far-far-away conversation a couple pages back. 8DD;;
And, well, people who do that will always get low grades anyway, no matter what the subject, I think. xDD;;
Is that your catch phrase or something then? =P Lolz~ xDD;; <3<3
Woot indeed~ 8DD;; <3<3
I love making connections with quotes. :> I find them inspiring. xDD;; <3<3
And yes! You should! =P I mean, if you love reading the trivias on them so much, the least you could do is drink at least one bottle, right? 8DD;;
And hmm... interesting. :x I don't know yet how it does affect eating schedules, since I'm never not woken up for lunch. D: And, on the rare occasions that I'm not woken up and I wake up at 3pm, I only eat a light snack so that I don't throw off dinner. ^^;;
And ohh! Interesting idea. =O Unfortunately, I didn't get that till you explained it to me, lolz. xDD;; But, then again, I'm the Tabs kind of person. ^^;; I'm sure others will find it useful though, I think. :>
Oh my, this one was long, haha. XD
I wonder if it's a good or bad thing that I'm using size 1 font. XD;;
Haha, yeah, I don't tease my friends too often, but if the opportunity arises, I will often be inclined to oblige. XD It's all just fun stuff anyway. >w>
Yeah, I guess it makes sense. And I guess it really does work in tiring my brain out, but I guess the tiring process just takes longer than I need it to be. XD;;
Fore the sake of weekdays, I will be on a quest for the most efficient brain-exhausting strategy. XDD
No, probably not. My current state shows considerable progress from my middle school days anyway, haha. XD
Yeah, as far as fine arts in school goes, I think teachers would rather have you take a 'stand' on some thing rather than portray something that shows neutrality or indecisiveness ( which tends to be true for a lot of my art, so I'm pushed by teachers to try to take a stand on something >O>; ).
Well, I think quite a few people have a better idea of who they are in the world than I have of my place in the world, at least. XD Like, I don't even know what my exact political standing would be, and I live in America, in California. XD;;
"Forced" by the way the university (/classes?) is structured, so it's like you can't not be aware of or active with social issues and such? 8O I can't really think of the word I'm thinking of either. XD;
What you've said has some sort of truth to it, I think. 8O ... The only okay example I could think of was 'eating junk food', so eating junk food is okay, but eating too much junk food would be bad.. XD;; But I guess what I was trying to get at was something like, things are only identified as a problem depending on the setting or situation, and even the perspective it's being seen from?
Mm.. maybe there's a staff blog or something with an entry about profile pages and social groups? Or even a community discussion thread on them, haha. XD
Oh, I wonder if I put anything in mind, I don't think I have anything either, but if I do, it's probably not much. XD;
I do agree that discussion with just two people would be more intimate, but like you said, a bigger group would have better potential for a variety of ideas. 83 I just feel like, the importance of philosophy would probably be a better topic for group discussion than just with two people, if only slightly better. XD Supposedly, I'll be taking a Philosophy GE, haha. I don't know when cuz I'm just concentrating on finishing my major courses. XD I just know that there's a GE category for my school with some Philosophy classes, among other departments, to choose from, so it'll probably just depend on whatever fits my schedule. >o>
Yeah, but we're both more of the intuitive kind of people, so it makes sense for us to be interested in these things. XD
XD Well, with my sentence from before, I guess I was trying to emphasize the part about the assumed almost minimal ( I guess, more like 'easy' ) effort or amount of work demanded to get an A in a Philosophy class. XD
Can it even count as a catch phrase? XD;
I've always loved quotes. 8'3 I used to really keep up-to-date with an online journal, and at the end of the entry, I'd look for some quote that catches my eye or interest and add that in before the closing. owo I haven't done that in a really really long while now though, heh.
Yeah, but I just have to find one. I don't remember if I've ever seen Snapple here before. XDD;
Sometimes my sleeping habits can get really bad.
Like, going to sleep around 6-7am, and then waking up around 4-6pm, so I've missed lunch. I try and look for something in the house to fill the missed lunch, but then my mom comes back home with dinner, which I eat but usually don't finish. And then I end up being a little hungry later in the late, so sometimes I'll eat leftovers or something as a midnight snack. But eating right before sleeping isn't too good... And if I did eat something, I'd probably end up staying up late again, and the cycle repeats. So sometimes, it'll feel like I've only eaten one meal per day, and with a cycle, that could go on anywhere from two to four days. >o>;;
Yeah, I come up with the weirdest ways to do things, I think. XD;;
I'm a tabs kind of person as well, very much so. But if I need to be looking up a lot of items and can't be bothered with relying on my memory or doing a lot of back-and-forth clicking, I open up a new smaller window so I can see both within my laptop screen. XD
So I have the list site open in a new window, with two tabs (or more) of the list from 1-9 and the list from 10-19. 83
I used to do this two-window thing a lot when I was updating my MAC. The hover preview feature in the shops definitely helped out when I had to screenshot everything. XD
LOLZ! xDD;; What more with me that I'm using the normal size 2 font...? >.>;; Ah wells...? 8DD;; I have a feeling you generally have longer responses than me anyway. =O It's just a hunch though. ^^;;
Yeah, at least it's all in good fun anyway. :> I would never tease my friends in a bad way. >.>;; And they don't do that to me, so, it's all good. ^^;; Bad teasing is, well, bad. 8DD;;
Lolz! xDD;; Good luck with that quest for finding the most effective brain-tiring method then. ^^;; I'm sure there's one method out there that will suit your needs just fine. =P If not, then I guess you'll have to go back to the aforementioned methods then and just bear it out...? ^^;;
And oohh, that's good then! :>
Speaking of grade school days, I'm very different from my old self, now that I think about it. xDD;;
Definitely more comfortable in my own skin now. :3
And really? =O I didn't know that. ^^;; But that's interesting. =O At least you're working on making a stand though, I hope...? xDD;; <3<3
Really? =O Lolz. xDD;; We're the same then. ^^;; I have no current political stand. :x But that's probably because politics over here is VERY dirty, and it's hard to put your trust in someone when you don't even know who you can trust completely in our government. >.>;;
And hmm... not that kind of forced. =O More like, it's inevitable? ^^;; Like I said, my university is very active with a lot of issues, so you can't avoid being asked about where you stand in terms of said issues. :x Ack, I can't explain clearly, sorry. >.>;;
And hmm... I get you. =O Almost anything can be seen as relative, after all. :x Of course, personality is relative. ^^;; Else there wouldn't be "cliques" that don't mesh well with each other, and everyone can just hang out with anyone. ^^;;
... or am I not getting your point...? >.>;; Not sure now. D: Sorry. ;_; </3
Hmm... I don't know of anything of the sort, actually. :x Maybe we should raise the questions then? =O I have always wondered if they will do something about the two in the future, and I've only ever heard news on the side of profiles, but not for the social groups. :x
Although, like you, I don't have a lot of ideas to put up as well. ^^;;
Hmm, really? =O I wouldn't fully agree with you on that, because after all, one of the earliest methods of Philosophy was the Socratic Method, where Socrates and one person would just talk one-on-one, with the person asking Socrates for the answer to his question, and with Socrates asking questions to the person till the person eventually finds some sort of answer to his own question. =P
While group discussions are more open to lots of ideas, the essence of a question can get lost if too many things are thrown out, as the point of the discussion can get buried in other things more easily with a bigger group. ^^;;
I do hope you get the opportunity to take a Philosophy class though. =O <3<3 They're worth it, in my opinion. xDD;;
And yeah, that makes sense. =P Which is why I recommend the class to you, since I feel that with us being on the same wavelength, what I enjoyed will be something you'll also hopefully enjoy. :3
And ohh, yeah, you need a little more work with a Philosophy class than in an ordinary class. ^^;; Although, as long as you can ask and raise "worthy" questions, while giving equally worthy answers, then you should be fine. xDD;;
And yeah, it can? =O I mean, it's a phrase, after all. xDD;; <3<3
And oohh, I used to collect quotes as well! :> Like you though, I haven't done it in a long time. D: Now that I think about it though, I do wish I can continue collecting quotes. ^^;; They were a lot of fun. 8DD;; <3<3
And you don't have Snapple there? =O I thought you did? o_O;; You did mention reading trivia off of it. xDD;;
Woah. @;; I think you have a more, umm, "severe" case from me then. xDD;; Probably because my mom is so strict with those kinds of things. ^^;; But hmm, I do understand what you mean. =O I'm used to functioning with less than enough sleep though, which probably helps me with maintaining some semblance of a sorta-normal schedule. ^^;;
Ohh, I'm too lazy to shrink windows, lolz. xDD;; I don't know why though, but it's not something I do very often. >.>;;
And oohh, cool then. :3 <3<3
Haha, I think that if they are longer than yours, it's because I tend to be more wordy with my replies than I really need to. XD;;
Yes, bad teasing is bad. XDD
Thanks, haha~ I've come to the conclusion that either I just haven't been getting enough sleep (which is quite possible) or the Sudoku/reading before bed is actually working in tiring my brain out. It still takes quite a bit of time though. But I blame it on the reading, because I finally found the chance to get back into reading a favorite series, and that makes me want to read more of the book than spend that time sleeping. XDD;
Probably because we've both passed the high school phase of trying to figure ourselves out, for the most part. And the college phase goes deeper into that subject. My personal opinion anyway. 8D;
Yeah, because if an artist actually takes a stand on something through their art, wouldn't he/she get noticed more than the artist who portrays something with a neutral/indecisive attitude? 8O As for me, err.. yes, it's being worked on.. every now and again, hehe. XDD;
Ohh, I see. o.o;
Ahh, I see. Yeah, inevitable was closer to what I was thinking as well. XD
I think I get the idea, but I just don't know how to word it. XD;;
I almost forgot how we got to this point. XD;;
I guess I was trying to take a rather specific example and turn it into a more general thing, but it didn't work out so well, haha~ A lot of people close to me and around me think that it's bad that I'm so shy around people (and like, socially retarded or something DX). My aunt was telling me a few days ago when we went clothes shopping, that I should try to use clothes to express something about myself instead of just wearing what's comfortable, and that it's bad for me to not really care so much about my appearance. She emphasized the point that especially because I'm a college student, I should start dressing up and trying to be more social. [/sortofrant] >^<
I think the most recent and smallish update on the profiles was that you could put a subtitle-ish thing under your username. XD But I only knew of that from the announcement, haha. I don't keep up with community discussions. XD; I think I'll take a look around today though~
Yeah, I realized that point after I posted that, haha. Both methods have their pros and cons, but I don't think I'm one qualified enough for a one-on-one discussion on Philosophy. XD;
! Oops, I just checked my school site, and I guess I won't be taking a Philosophy GE.. >O>;; I mixed it up with a Psychology class I could be taking. They both start with P's and I think the Philosophy one was for a GE category I've already fulfilled. XD;; I wish I could take a Philosophy class though, but with the way I've planned the rest of my years, I won't be able to take any extra classes. >^<
Haha~ XDD
What are the defining points of a "catch phrase", I wonder. XD
They were indeed. XD
Hmm.. I wonder where I could start keeping track of quotes though. I very rarely write any kind of journal or blog entry two days in a row now, not even two days in the same week. XD;;
Well, we have Snapple in California, I don't remember seeing any in Taiwan, not that I really paid attention. XD;
Yeah, I know, haha. It's much more severe than most people I know. XDD;; My mom has to work every weekday from early in the morning, to late at night, and my sister's almost always out of the house, so even if my mom was more strict about it, not much can be done. >O>;
Haha! XDD;; I shrink windows quite often I think, but it's probably because I'm already so used to shrinking window sizes in Photoshop. XD;
Lolz, maybe. xDD;; Anyway, as an experiment, I'll try writing with size 1 font as well, just to check who has longer responses, lolz. 8DD;; I still think it's you though as I type up my reply. ^^;; But we'll see... =P
That is too true, btw. ^^;;
I don't approve of teasing at all. >.>;; It's terribly immature and pointless, if you ask me. :x
Oohh, from what you're saying now, I think it's because what you're doing is interesting your brain more than it's exhausting it. ^^;; Because, even though you're tired, if you have enough "drive" or "adrenaline", tiredness won't matter and won't stand in the way of what you want to do. xDD;; At least, that's what I know, because usually it's like that, I believe. =P
But then, finding something boring to replace reading/Sudoku is kinda... pointless. 8DD;;
Hmm, then I'll have to agree with your personal opinion then. =P College is definitely more open than high school, and self-expression is a lot easier. :> I think it's also because in college, you actually have a say in what you're learning. =) At least, more so than if you're in high school and just learning the generic subjects. ^^;; It definitely builds more character. :>
And hmm... perhaps, but there are many who can and do relate more to indecisiveness than decisiveness. =P At least, if someone shows me neutrality in a picture concerning, say, politics for example, then I can definitely relate to that more than if the picture shows a side that's too aggressive. ^^;; Of course, that's not always the case, and there are equal cases for both "taking a stand" and "not taking a stand", I believe. =P
And at least you're working on it? =P Don't worry. ^^ If our discussion of college in the earlier paragraphs says something, is that sooner or later you're going to find that balance of having a stand and not having one as you go through college. :> Or so I'd like to believe and hope. xDD;; <3<3
Yeah, it sucks. D: I hate our government. >.>;; Well, not really hate :x More like... I don't respect them like I should? =O I mean, I respect them in a sense that they do keep some semblance of order in the Philippines, but I don't respect them for themselves. ^^;; If... that makes sense...? xDD;;
And okay then, as long as I'm getting the point across? xDD;; That's what matters. :3
I've sort-of forgotten myself, actually. xDD;;
And hmm... I see. =O Well, I'm sure the people who tell you that have good intentions (at least I hope they do :x). They seem kind of... forceful though. ^^;; As someone who used to be very shy and quiet as a kid, being forced to stop being so shy and quiet never worked for me. >.>;; Eventually I learned that I needed to start speaking up for myself and stuff if I wanted to be treated a certain way. =O
As for the clothes thing... yeah, they do say who you are, but I don't see why you shouldn't wear comfortable clothes for the sake of saying and making a statement about who you are. ^^;; There's a balance, of course, which I'm hoping is what your aunt means. =O If not, then... you could try finding that balance then? ^^;; Although, being comfortable and wearing comfortable clothes does make a statement about who you are too. :>
*hugglesquishes*
Ranting is all good, no worries. :3 We all need to do that from time to time. ^^;; <3<3
Yeah, that's the most recent thing that I remember as well. =O I don't think there's anything new though. ^^;; Only thing I know that's coming up is the Celes Paradi event. 8DD;; I'm excited for it though. :> It's going to be my first Celes Paradi on Mene! :'D <3<3
And pfft, from what we've been talking about, I'm sure you're qualified for a one-on-one philosophical discussion. xDD;; All you need is someone who can keep up with you, and then you're on your way. :3 It's easier to get into it when the one you're talking to is more experienced and all. At least, it's easier for me, since I find it hard to find answers if it's just me who's pushing myself, as opposed to if the one I'm talking to is forcing me (in a good way xDD) to find that answer. =P <3<3
Aww, really? :< That's too bad. :x Maybe you could take it as an extra class...? >.>;; It may not be credited, but it's always worth it if you're generally interested. ^^;; <3<3
And, well, for me, a catch phrase is a phrase that a person uses often, and when you hear said phrase, you are reminded of the person who usually says said phrase. xDD;; In my humble opinion, of course. ^^;;
I used to keep them in a Word file, and I'll just copy-paste random quotes I find. xDD;; I can never keep up with a written journal, as typing is faarr faster than writing for me. >.>;;
Sometimes, I use the quotes that I copy-paste as prompts for my short stories and drabbles, and sometimes I integrate them into my essays. =P A number of my essays always have some sort of quote that doesn't directly relate to the subject of the essay, but definitely helps emphasize something in said essay. ^^;; Call it a writing style, if you will. xDD;;
Lolz, you could try and find some then? xDD;;
And hmm... I see. :x Well, as long as you can keep up with it, then you're fine...? ^^;; Just be careful that it takes too much of a toll of you in the future. :x </3
Ohh, I hate shrinking windows in Photoshop. D: </3 I find it such a hassle. >.>;; Zooming in and out is okay, but I hate resizing windows. x_x;; Call it a personal peeve...? xDD;; <3<3
Edit: I think I win this round of "Who has the longer textwall?" Lolz! xDDD;; <3<3
I think of it as a way to show your closeness to your friends. 8D;
Because, at least for me, I don't often tease people I don't feel that close to. 8<;
Haha~
It'd be pointless, but it'd probably be more efficient in getting myself to fall asleep.. Like doing class reading before bed, except usually in that case, for the sake of my grades, I'd want to stay up to finish the reading rather than fall asleep. 8D;;;
Something about college just makes people have to question themselves more, more than questioning facts about general education. It definitely helps that college has an enormous variety of classes you can choose from and, to an extent (by stuff like major courses and which fits the best schedule and such), you're not really limited in choosing which ones to take. To me, college gives the freedom to explore and experiment with ourselves. 83
Yeah, but a picture that takes a stand on something would probably incite more reaction from the audience that a picture that shows neutrality. Like your example of politics- one that might be too aggressive would definitely provoke reaction from the other side, maybe invite a good reaction from someone who's also against whatever side the picture's being aggressive against, and even get reaction from the more neutral people like us to at least notice that it's being a bit too aggressive. I've learned from classes that artists don't always have to try to please a part of society, and negative reactions from the audience can also be a good thing to the artist, because it means that their art is getting noticed, or at least had its moment of attention. XD
I still don't know which I'd rather go for though, once I get out of college, but maybe by the time I graduate, I'll have figured it out, for the most part. owo But yeah, I guess college will act as my experimenting field to find that balance. XD
Umm.. you don't respect them for their methods in trying to keep some form of order? Or perhaps you don't respect them for not trying harder to gain more of the people's trust? Or you respect them as a whole, but don't respect the individual politicians? XD;
Yeah, haha~ X'D
Yes, they have good intentions, haha. But they probably think that since I'm so shy ( and my laziness is not unknown in the family 8D; ), I need to have some push behind me to make something happen. But well, I guess my shyness comes from the feeling of unfamiliarity, my quietness because I couldn't think of anything good/better to say. >^>; I'm not really sure what changed me from the elementary school girl I was to the person I am now. Maybe just that I surrounded myself with people who were so opposite to me that I just started speaking up more myself, without really realizing that I was changing as well?
Heh, I think my aunt's the more vocal about my wardrobe. She's the kind to have something to say about anything and everything. XD; And she really doesn't like it when girls can seem like boys (in behavior, appearance, whatever) and boys who seem like they can be girls. So whenever she sees me, being the much more tomboy-ish (or I guess, more accurately, un-girly) of her nieces, feels the need to dress me up and such (not literally, of course XD). But yes, I do know how clothes can say something about people, but I just never find the clothes that I like anywhere. I want to get into sewing and such though, so I could start making my own clothes. That would probably save me the time spent on fruitless searches through the malls' clothing shops. x^x
Ah also, when we went clothes shopping, my aunt wasn't trying to force me into a certain style of clothing, she was just trying to encourage me to start looking at clothes more, and think of what 'my style' might look like. I guess that's why I liked shopping with her than with my mom or even some of my friends, because either I'd find something and they'd say it's 'totally not me' or something to that affect, or they'll make me try something I don't feel comfortable with.. @^@;
Haha, thankies~ *hugglesquishesback* X'3
I feel kind of glad to have gotten this out somewhere. XD
Ooh~ That's right, it's coming up soon! 8'D
Hehe, yay for your first CP event~ This will be my second. X'3 And now I'm eager to read the/an accompanying storyline. X'D <3
Keep up with me? The other way around, I think. XD; But yes, it would seem easier if it was with someone who's more experienced, but now I'm stuck trying to think of what questions I would have / might have wanted to ask anyway. XDD;
No, I mean, my schedule would be too full to take even one extra class. XD;;
And my dad won't let me take summer classes.. so that's why I have to fill up my fall and spring semester schedules with as much major courses as I can. >^<
Hrm.. I don't think I use it that often though, hehe. XDD And I usually only say it to my mom. XD
If I did have a catch phrase, I wonder what it would be. @
I wonder if any of my friends have a phrase that could be considered their catch phrase. XD
Haha, I often have written journals, but type them up for my online LJ when I've finished an entry. Mostly because the times that I'd write something in my journal, I'd be getting ready for bed, or I'm traveling somewhere in a car/train/plane, so handwritten is more convenient. Plus, thoughts escape me quite often, and right when I need them, so paper journals are more on hand to quickly jot a thought or spill a train of thought. XD With written on online journals alike though, the entries usually come in spurts, and then I don't write a new one for weeks or months. XD;;
Wow, haha, you must have master writing skills then~ ( Of course, that'd be really good for your major, yes? X'D ) For essays, I usually just work with what I'm given. XDDD;
Eventually, haha~ It's been raining recently, and I'm too lazy to go outside. XDD
Yeah. This kind of cycle only happens when I'm on vacation or break though. And I usually try not to have it happen. On school days, I avoid allnighters if I can, and set my own bed times (that I sometimes go over, but not by too much XD).
Guess I'll continue with this size 1 thing. xDD;; Makes scrolling MUCH easier. ^^;;
Oh! That previous comment was meant for bad teasing, not good and friendly teasing. ^^;;
Of course, teasing close friends is always funny. xDD;; <3<3
And ohh! Class readings will ALWAYS get me to fall asleep. >.>;; Especially since they're usually really thick and really boring. x_x;; Well, except for readings for my literature and creative writing classes, of course. ^^;; Good stories always catch my eye. :3
But lolz! xDD;; You can reread boring stuff when you don't need to then? ^^;; Or... I dunno. @;; Lolz. 8DD;;
I wholeheartedly agree with what you just said. :3 Because you're essentially more free in choosing your subjects (not totally, but you get the point xDD), it definitely does "test" oneself. :3 Especially when you come from an all girls private school like me. ^^;; Being around guys more often and wandering around more often and all that jazz has definitely enlightened me a lot. =P
Hmm... interesting point. =O Reminds me of the saying, "Good press or bad press, at least they're talking about you." Lolz. xDD;; My point though is that neutral pictures can sometimes be more relatable than ones that aren't. ^^;; But, seeing as you're the fine arts major, I won't argue with you on that, as you're definitely the expert. =P <3<3
And I'm sure you'll have it figured out by that time. :3
Hopefully, that is. xDD;; Because seeing as I'm also clueless, if you have no hope, then I certainly have none either. ^^;;
And hmm... you're right in that I don't respect the way they're handling their jobs. :x And that I don't really respect them as individuals either. ^^;; Well, I do respect what they're trying to achieve (putting their greedy sides aside >.>), but because power and money tend to dirty up anything they touch, it gets really hard to try and see the good in politicians when you're very much aware that for whatever good deed they do, they most certainly are getting something that's probably twice as much as what they're giving in the first place. >.>;;
And yeah, as the saying goes, "Tell me who your friends are, and I can tell you who you are." =P And it does relate to our earlier conversation about how people tend to gravitate towards those they know who can help them or something. ^^;; Your friends seem like a very good influence on your character, and they do seem to be helping you define yourself more and all. :3 Changes are usually good, as long as they're good changes, I think. ^^ <3<3
And ohh, I see, I see. =O I think we all have aunts like that. xDD;; Luckily though, I'm not her usual victim, but I do know how it feels to be, umm, criticized by others because you're not "girly" enough (even if I think that I currently am a lot girlier than I used to be xDD). >.>;;
Sewing actually is a nice idea... if you're persevering enough for it. ^^;; I wish you luck on that then. =P You can think of it as just another branch of the arts anyway. 8DD;; <3<3
But... for the lazier people, like me (lulz xDD), when I can't find clothes that I like in stores, I buy substitutes and make do with what I have. I roll up pants that I want to be shorter; I layer clothing if I can't find a nice layered shirt; and I even change the straps of my shoes at times if I don't like the straps. xDD;; You can try those if you like. :> It's worked so far for me, at least. ^^;;
And that's nice of your aunt. :3 Forcing styles on people is never a good thing, if you ask me. >.>;; Encouraging is a whole different league, and probably the much better of the two. xDD;; <3<3
Glad to have helped then. ^^ I love listening to people when they need to rant. :3 Especially since I do genuinely know how much ranting to someone does help lift spirits when you need it. ^^ <3<3
Yes it is! :3 I'm very much excited~ :'D <3<3
And it's your second? =O So, you've already celebrated your Meneversary then? o_o;;
And lolz! xDD;; If you say so then, although I am more inclined to believe otherwise. =P
As for what you could possibly ask... there's loads of questions out there you can ask. xDD;; Although, I guess that's what makes it all the more difficult, I suppose. ^^;;
If you're interested though, you could try reading Sophie's World. :3 It's a story on Philosophy, and a must-read for any starting "philosopher". xDD;; Haven't finished it myself, but I am very much enlightened by what I have already read. =P
Ohh, I see. =O Awws, too bad then. :<
And I see. =O Won't that be a little too full though? :x
Either way, I wish you luck on those then. ^^ <3<3
Lolz, if you say so. xDD;; And hmm, I'm sure at least one of your friends has this phrase they always use without knowing it. ^^;; I personally believe that everyone has one, even. xDD;; But that could just be me again. >.>;;
Hmm, that makes a lot of sense. =O Good for you then! :> I do wish it would work for me though, since I usually forget said notebooks and pens for where I'm supposed to write down my thoughts when I need them, and am usually too lazy to try and find them. xDD;; But, not everything works for everyone, after all. ^^;;
And pfft, I wouldn't call it master writing skills. >.>;; Just call it a love for integrating quotes into what I'm required to write. 8DD;; I like being a little more creative with essays, just to see if my strange line of thinking will hopefully set me apart from the rest. ^^;;
LOLZ. xDD;; Well, try when you go to the supermarket or something then. =P Lolz. 8DD;;
And aww, bed times! xDD;; <3<3
Haven't set one up for myself in a while. >.>;;
Although, I do try to avoid staying up later than 1am on school nights, if possible. ^^;;
Lolz. xDD;; Now you must find me very strange. >.>;; If you didn't find me strange before, that is. ^^;;
And lolz! xDD;; Maybe it's just because I have a bigger tendency to make new paragraphs than you though. 8DD;; I've been doing it a lot lately. >.>;;
Oh, I see, haha! XDD
I was just commenting on teasing in general then, cuz I think even if I did do bad teasing to any close friends or family, it'd further prove how close I am, because I'd never be willing to do it to a stranger. XDD;
Well, some readings can be interesting, but they still use really formal or almost cryptic styles of writing that make it easy for me to fall asleep. DX; I took a Russian short stories class for a GE, surprisingly (or unsurprisingly XD) the readings were a bit lengthy. Russian short stories are always pretty interesting, but just the length of it, or having to stare at big long pages with tiny size font makes it tiring on the eyes and brain. XD;
My my, I don't think I'd have the motivation to do that, haha~ XDD I'd have to find those boring things to do so too, hahaha.
Haha, I came from an all girls private high school too. XD ( Did we mention this before? I don't remember XD; ) I can imagine. XD
I don't think I've heard that saying before, but I understand it. XD Haha~ I get that those ones are more relatable, I'm just adding that one can get reactions from the people that find the art relatable, but won't get much reaction from people who can't relate. If an artist is happy with making their art the way they want and it tends to be more neutral, then yay for them. 83 But if an artist is wanting a bigger audience/following, then they'd probably have to start taking a stand on something to give people something to remember the artist by. As of now, I'm happy with just putting out whatever my mind and hands want to put out. But I figure it's a good experience to learn more about both sides while I'm at school anyway. Who knows? The knowledge might come into use in my art someday, sometime in the future after I've gotten out of school. ^ ^
Heh, this seems true for a lot of countries though, no? I mean, I'm not saying that all politicians are bad and untrustworthy, but every country has one, yeah? XD;; But I, for one, do not keep myself knowledgeable with politics, unfortunately, so I don't have much else to say. 8D;;;
Haha, I've never heard this saying before either. XD
I like your last sentence. XD But yes, changes for the better are good, even if some people/we don't accept them at first. owo
Ahaha~ I don't want to be more girly though, I just want to work on my art. XD
I've always wanted to get into sewing, but I've never had the chance to take a class or learn. T^T But yes, while learning I could think of it as another form of craft-making, haha~
But yeah, for now I've just been looking (if I haven't found anything I liked) for anything I could take home and alter. Like this one dress that I bought for an awards ceremony for high school graduation. I thought it was okay, but I liked the skirt portion more, so when I get back to the States, I'm gonna try to turn it into a long skirt (since I much prefer longer skirts to shorter). XD
Yes, I fully agree, haha~ XD
Forcing styles is very much like dressing up a doll I think, only now you know that the doll might not be so happy about the ways she's being dressed up. >O>
Yeah, haha. I'm usually the one listening to people rant about stuff; I don't often rant about stuff myself, at least, not aloud, I guess. XD;
Yeah, I 'celebrated' it during this past Valentines day event, hehe~ XD
I joined right as Vday '08's event was about to end. XD;;
I shall let you believe otherwise since I have no other ways to prove the other otherwise. XD
Well, no, I meant back to the topic of the meaning and importance of Philosophy and such- what questions I could ask about that, haha. XD Hrm.. I vaguely vaguely think I've heard that title before, but I'll add that to my to-read-list so I don't forget again, haha~ Is it long? 8O
It might end up feeling too full, but my school tuition is pretty expensive, since it's also a private university. ^ ^; So I'm trying to graduate as soon as I can. I tried this past semester with the max amount of units. I was afraid for myself at first, but if I don't aim for high scores and instead just for whatever's good enough, it doesn't feel that full, and I know I could have devoted more time to school anyway, heh. 8D;;; So I'm hoping the rest of my semester's won't be worse than the one that's just passed. XDD; But thanks for the luck! <3
What's your catch phrase? X'D
Hehe, yeah, sometimes I lose track of them, but I find them some long time later and think about whether or not to try to fill the rest of its pages, cuz I figured it'd be a waste if I didn't. XDD
Yes, it definitely is a creative move with essays, haha~
I wish I could remember quotes well enough to be able to integrate them into essays. XD
Yeah, there's one just down the street, so once the drinks run out in the house, I'm gonna take a trip for more and search for Snapple. XD
Last year was the first time I decided to try to be strict with myself about bed times with, haha. XD; Took me long enough to realize I couldn't really handle allnighters anymore. >w>;;; Plus, I'm then less likely to be late for morning classes, and past years have had too many missed classes because I slept in. ^ ^;;
Everybody has a strangeness to them. 8D That's what makes people different, and friends attract, hehe. X'D And everyone has a pet peeve, haha~
I suppose? XD
Making new paragraphs isn't such a bad thing though.
I just personally like to see blocks of text more than strips/stripes in my own posts. XDD
Lolz, you're influencing me with this small font. xDD;; <3<3
Sorry I wasn't clearer on that earlier. ^^;; And hmm, that's a good point. =O Although, I prefer light teasing to bad teasing, personally. =P It's what I usually do, after all. 8DD;;
And ohh, I know what you mean about those weird writing styles. >.>;; Some are just too wordy and some just use outrageous words that no normal person would ever use in their vocabulary. x_x;; And oohh, you know Russian? =O Or were the stories written by Russians but are in english? Either way, that's interesting, especially since I don't think I've read a Russian story yet. ^^;; And omg, tiny font always makes me gag internally. >.>;; It's soo scary to look at. D: </3
And LOLZ. xDD;; Yeah, it's not really worth it to find boring things so that you can fall asleep. x_x;; It all seems so pointless when I word it like that. 8DD;;
Oh yeah! I think we did mention it before. xDD;; <3<3 But yeah, at least we can relate to each other in that manner as well. ^^;; College is much more open, noh? 8DD;;
You've never heard of that saying before? =O I hear it a lot from celebrities, actually. ^^;; Probably because it's always good for them to be talked about, as it is their job, after all. xDD;;
And that's very interesting. =O I'll have to keep what you said in mind for the future. :3 It could prove useful for future reference. xDD;; And I do agree btw that knowing both sides to anything will prove useful in the future. :> Being open to every side of an argument will always go somewhere, I believe. ^^
And yeah, politics is always very dirty business no matter where you are. >.>;; Only reason I'm starting to get a little more involved and aware with politics is because elections for us is coming up in 2010, and it'll be my first time voting. ^^;; So, I gotta at least be a little aware of the current state of our government, noh? xDD;;
And woah, really? =O I thought it was a pretty common one. =O Maybe you know the family version instead? It's exactly the same as the one mentioned, except you interchange friends with family. Although, personally, I don't adhere to the family version, because you don't choose your family, whereas you do choose your friends, so it's a little more telling for me. ^^;;
Anyhows, back to the topic on change. xDD;;
Yeah, people aren't always very open to change, but good change will inevitably creep up to people if it's good enough, right? 8DD;;
Well, you can be a little more girlier yet still work on your art, I think. ^^;; Like, not very girly or totally girly, but just a little girlier? =O Or, something like that. xDD;; <3<3
You don't know how to sew though? =O I thought they always teach that in all girls schools? xDD;; Well, the very basics of sewing, at least. :x That's the only thing I know, actually. ^^;;
And oohh, good luck with that then. :>
Reminds me of this one VERY long vintage skirt that I bought before, which I turned into a dress. 8DD;; It worked a lot better for my proportions that way, anyway. ^^;;
Oohh, funny analogy. 8DD;; I remember that I used to talk to my dolls, and ask them if they liked what they were wearing. >.>;; It's pretty silly, now that I look back on it. xDD;;
And ohh, I see. =O Well, everyone DOES need to rant once in a while, at least. :3
Just remember that I'll be here to listen to your ranting if you need to vent out. ^^ <3<3
And really? =O Cool then. :> You should have told me though! =O I would have greeted you! xDD;; <3<3
But, ermm, happy late Meneversary...? 8DD;; <3<3
Mine is still a little ways off. ^^;;
And okay then. =P I am entitled to my own opinion, after all. xDD;; <3<3
And ohh, I see. =O Maybe it'll be best if you let someone more philosophical and experienced than you start the discussion with that. ^^;; It might be a lot easier that way. :3
And hmm, it is kinda long, I guess, but not THAT long. ^^;; It's a very "heavy" book, as it's not meant to be read i one sitting. :x After all, the book tells the story of at least 3,000 years of philosophy and crams it into a normal novel, so it's very much a heavy read. xDD;; It's very interesting though, as it does make you think and question a lot. :>
Ohh, I see, I see. =O Well, it's good then that you're making the most out of your tuition to your university then. :> Just be careful not to overload too much for the sake of graduating as soon as possible. =P <3<3
And no problem on the luck. ^^ Everyone needs luck, I believe. xDD;; <3<3
My catch phrase? =O
Well, I do say, "Wait a moment." or "Just wait." a lot. xDD;; No joke. >.>;;
Also, I have a tendency of shouting a small high pitched "Ah!" when something falls, or if I trip, or if something catches my attention, or, whatever. 8DD;; Not sure if the "Ah!" counts as a catch phrase though...? xDD;;
And hmm... it IS a waste, I think. :x But ugh, now you're making me feel bad, since people who've gifted me journals must feel sad that I don't use them. ;_; It's mostly because I hate writing on pretty notebooks in fear that I'll "dirty" it up or something though... xDD;;
And nahh, I don't really memorize lots of quotes. ^^;;
More often than not, I will remember some part of the quote, and just end up researching for it, only to find another quote that's more useful and appropriate. xDD;; But ahh well? 8DD;; What works just works, I guess. ^^;; I'm horribly messy with my train of thought sometimes. >.>;;
Oohh, good luck then. =P Hope you do find some over there! 8DD;; <3<3
And lolz, good for you then? =P Yeah, missing morning classes is sad. :<
... which reminds me of my 7am class on Tuesdays and Thursdays for this semester. D: </3
Oh the horror and the evil. ;o;
And I guess so. ^^;;
I have quite a few excessive pet peeves though, for some reason. >.>;;
But ahh wells? xDD;;
And lolz, we're the opposite then. ^^;; Blocks of text turn me off more than stripes of text. xDD;; <3<3
Well, I didn't say that I liked bad teasin, haha. A lot of people would prefer good teasing to bad teasing, I think. XD
Yes, especially those outrageous words! XD;
No no, it was Russian short stories translated into English, haha. And really? Have you heard of Dostoevsky? Pushkin? Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karenina? 8'O
You must be gagging at these text walls then, no? XDD;;
Haha~ Seems like the thought leads to "I have better things I could be doing with my time". XD
Indeed~ Include the relations between students and teachers, though I guess that could also depend on the subjects (and the teachers?). XD;
Very true, for celebrities, haha~
Yeah, I find myself thinking 'more information is better than none' and I often try to learn as much as I can before having a say about something, or try to argue for something. >O>
Ohh, I see~ Yeah, it'd be a good idea to be more aware, haha. XD
I've probably heard some variation of it or another, haha. And.. I guess the family one is referring to people you consider to be as close to you as a family member, not talking about blood relations? ^ ^;
I suppose? XDD
But goodness and badness is another one of those relative things, in my opinion, heh. And I know that this could often be taken advantage of to twist words into being more negative or more positive, depending on the situation.
I just mean that I'd rather spend that time on my art instead,
rather than think about trying to make myself more girly than what little girliness I have in me, haha. And I just personally don't see the point in my trying to be more girly, it's not gonna do anything that I hope to do or be. XD;
No, we had a class, but it was optional, and I took computer art instead. XD;;;
I'm hoping my mom will teach me some more when I get back home, heh. XD
Cool~ 8D
I don't remember anything with playing with dolls, heh.. I probably talked to them in my mind though, while I carried them around. But I had more stuffed animals then dolls. 8D; A lot of childhood experiences are silly, I think, hehe~
Hehe, thankies~ X'3
The same goes for me to you. 8'3 <3
Ahaha~ Thank youu~ XDD <3
Take comfort/relief when I say that I don't usually tell people when my birthday or site anniversaries are? I don't think I even noticed it was my Meneversary until the Vday event started, but that makes for easy remembering, doesn't it? XDD
Hrmm.. when did I meet RyRy? I can't seem to remember. @;;
Yes, haha~ XDD And yeah, probably. 83
Wow, haha~ But at least it sort of has a storyline? I think I'll try and borrow it instead of buying it though, and hopefully the library will have a copy. XD
Yeah, I was using this past semester as a testing phase to see if max units would be too much. In conclusion, I think if I wasn't so distracted everyday, I'd be able to get through max units just fine. XDD;
Haha~ Why is that? 8D
( Why do you say those often, I mean. XD )
Hehe, it's probably considered more of a personality trait that people can really remember you by then? X'D
Well, it's only a waste to me, my personal view, and I was only talking about the ones that I've written in but never filled up all the way. XDD;; I see journals as usable for a lot of different things though, don't have to limit their use to diaries and such. Collecting journals is a perfectly good way of going with gifted journals, too~ XDD
Ahh, well, at least you remember enough of some quotes to look them up, haha~
And I'm the same with messy trains of thought, haha~ I always think it strange I could end up with one thought when starting from such a completely unrelated thought. XD;
But I love researching stuff, and finding things that relate to another thing that link to another thing, and I wonder if that plays off the ways I tend to think about things and connect them. XD;;
I'll let you know if I do. 8DD
Oh the horror, indeed. >o<;
What time did you usually get out of bed last year? 8O
It's a personality thing? XD
Haha, well at least in making my posts, I prefer to have blocks then stripes, and it especially bothers me when things continue to the next line for just a word to a few words. XDD;; Sometimes, if it's a short (in height) enough post I'll even go back and edit to split the sentence somewhere so the words look closer together. XDD
Lolz. xDD;; It's only natural for them to like the good better than the bad though. ^^;;
Yeah, exactly. D: </3 I mean, some are too intense for my vocabulary, lolz. 8DD;;
And nope, never heard of any one of them, sadly. >.>;; Are they good and worth the read? =O <3<3
And lolz, text walls I can take. xDD;; But pages and pages of tiny scrunched up text that I don't even want to attempt to read are what make me gag and curl. x_x;; Those aren't nice at all. D: </3
Yes! Exactly the phrase I was looking for~ 8DD;; <3<3 Time IS precious, after all. =P It shouldn't be wasted~ ^^
And yeah, I agree. =O Teachers in college are waayy more liberal and more open-minded than high school teachers are, I think. >.>;; I guess it's just the general atmosphere of college life. ^^;; And, yeah, I guess it's also because there's such a wide array of subjects to choose from, with some subjects not exactly, umm, normal subjects. xDD;;
Yes, very true indeed. xDD;;
And that's a good goal to strive for. :> You should keep up that mentality, as I think it will really serve you well in the future. ^^
And yeah, it's always good to be more aware. xDD;; As much as I love blissful ignorance, the world isn't exactly kind to those who are blissfully ignorant. ^^;;
And maybe, I guess. :x I always took family to mean blood relations though. ^^;; That saying with family in it sort of coincides with the one that says, "Blood runs deeper than water." =P
That's true as well. =O What's good and what's bad is very much a relative sort of thing. ^^;; It's always hard to determine what's good and what's not, even though there ARE some things that people agree on concerning the topic in question. =P
And hmm, I see, I see. =O Well, as long as you're comfortable in your own skin, that's what really matters. :> Although, there's also no real harm in dressing up a little more, I believe. xDD;; But that's just the girlier side of me speaking. ^^;; <3<3
And ohh, I see, I see. =O We didn't have computer art available to us then, sadly. ;_; </3
And yeah, moms usually always know how to sew for some reason. xDD;;
And yeah, it's cool indeed. ^^ <3<3
Really? =O I had an equal amount of both, I think. xDD;; I was definitely a doll and stuffed toys kind of kid back then. =P And yes, childhood things can be silly, I agree. 8DD;; I remember some of the crazy things I used to do before, and now all I can wonder is how and why the hell I was doing such things in the first place. ^^;;
Aww, thank you very much then. :'D <3<3
Lolz, okies then. xDD;; I shall take comfort in it if you say that I should. ^^;;
And hmm... I dunno, actually. xDD;; You did post in my quest thread early on though. =O So, I must have met you around right after I made the thread. 8DD;; It was around the Halloween event, I think? =O Or, umm, before that. Not sure. x_x;;
And yeah, good thing it has an actual story, else it'll really feel like a lecture instead. ^^;;
Yeah, maybe borrowing it is best for now, since you're not sure if you'll enjoy it anyway. xDD;; The library should have a copy, I think. =O It's a pretty common and used book. =P
Lolz, I see then...? xDD;; What sort of distractions, umm, distract you anyway? 8DD;;
And, umm, I say those often because I'm usually doing something when someone calls me and asks me to do another thing, so I often end up saying, "Wait a moment!" and "Just wait!" when that happens so I can finish up what I was previously doing. 8DD;; It's kinda funny. ^^;;
And yeah, probably. ^^;; Not sure if I would consider it a personality trait though... =O More like... a quirk? xDD;; <3<3
Ohh, I see, I see. =O <3<3
And LOLZ, I like that idea of collecting journals, btw. xDD;;
Yeah, luckily I do remember. ^^;; Which I find miraculous, actually, since I have SUCH bad memory. >.>;;
And yes! OMG, I can relate. D: I seriously don't know how it happens though. >.>;;
And oohh, interesting. =O <3<3 I'm a little too lazy for researching, but I do like to look into things when they interest me and all. ^^;; <3<3 It's only natural though, I guess. 8DD;;
Okay then, I'll be waiting for what you have to say then. xDD;; <3<3
And, umm... I did have a 7am class before as well. >.>;; But I mostly wake up at around 8 or 9 for my regular 10am classes. ^^;;
And yeah, I guess it is~ xDD;; <3<3
OMG! I hate it when only one word continues on to the next line as well! >.>;; I feel like it's such a, umm, unneeded word or something, lolz. xDD;; And woah, really? =O Lolz. xDD;; Cool? ^^;;
*gasp* It's a Caroline! ^O^
Hehe~ So it seems. X'D
I've been okay, on my summer break now, haha~
How've you been? <3
RyRy - For clarification ( if it was needed? XD; ), I was talking about the people doing the teasing, including myself, to prefer good to bad teasing. XD
Aww, you should look any of them up then~ 83
I think some stuff you might have to know some background information to understand, but without the background info, they'd still be pretty interesting to read, I thought anyway, haha. I haven't read Anna Karenina yet, though I have it, but that story's had a lot of media adaptations already, so it should be good, haha. XD
Haha, I see. And yes, those aren't nice one bit. >^<
Time is indeed precious! So, last night, I tried a new plan - leave my computer earlier than usual, so I can start my bedtime reading earlier than usual, thus start feeling sleepier earlier than usual, and finally fall asleep earlier than usual ( though it was still kind of late ). 8D; ( But it got to a really intense battle scene, so I had to keep reading! And forced myself to close the book when it got to a relative break. XD;; )
Yeah, that's true, haha. And with those not-so-normal subjects, the teachers could be expected to be not-so-normal themselves. X'D
Yup, so I will. 83
Haha, such a cruel world it is these days. XD;;
I think I've watched one too many Disney movies, haha~ XD;;
I always immediately think of family to mean blood relations, but very often, I don't stick to my first impressions of things. As with everything in the world, there's always exceptions, heh.
Heh, the same to determining what's better and what's worse. A subtle difference, but a difference, nonetheless. owo I think it gets difficult when people do a jump-on-the-bandwagon thing in voicing whether something is good or not. Because then some people aren't deciding the goodness of something for themselves, instead just going with a slowly (or rapidly) growing majority opinion.
Haha~ XD
Aww, that's too bad. >^<;
Because with their generation, sewing was actually a required and forced class to take? *just guessing* XD
Haha, I don't really know why. I guess I was just more drawn to animals than things that looked like mini-humans. XDD
The mind of a child can be really crazy when the kid is still exploring the new world they've been pushed into. 8D
You're quite welcome. X'3
In other words, I don't expect people to remember my join dates and such because I rarely verbally make it known. Thus, if people don't remember, I feel no negativity towards them at all; if they do remember, that just makes me happier. 8'D And I guess it was around Halloween? I think I remember I sort of met Roachi around the same time. Sometimes I just like to meet people out of the blue, and forget much later why I decided to speak up in the first place ( not meant to sound negative in anyway, haha, just that, for the life of me, I can't remember so I might have just acted on a whim XD ).
That's good then. I'll probably read it once my next semester starts then, sort of to act as the Philosophy class I couldn't take. XD
Why, the internets, of course~ X'DD
And fun reading, when I get the chance to indulge, haha~
That's pretty much it, but the internet does branch off into like, a million separate distractions. XD;
Haha, I see. So you must be pretty active or busy from day to day, huh? XD
Hehe, how would you define a quirk then? XDD
Isn't that what you pretty much already do anyway? XDD
It's sort of like how I collect sketchbooks, because all of my friends know how much I like to draw, so I have a collection of clean and halfway used sketchbooks and journals in my room. X'D
! XD;
I don't either, heh. Maybe it's because our minds are already filled with a bunch of random stuff that our brains make a bunch of random connections to things. @
Well, yeah, I use the word researching ( in place of 'looking into' ) for stuff I'm interested in as well. XD Like if someone gives me a title of a book that sounds interesting, I'll go off to google and look up stuff to deepen my interest. 8D
Hmm.. it's actually not raining today.. I should go look. 8O
But it's so hot since the sun's out! Maybe another hour or so. XDD
Oh, I see. >O>;;
My usual waking time was around 8 to 8:30, though I'd always planned to wake up earlier. XD;;
Haha, I think of it as just myself being nitpicky and trying to fix it. XDD
With these huge textwalls though, I've been getting more lazy about going back to edit, so I've stopped. XD
Ohh, I see, I see. =O
You know, I kinda got lost on this topic. xDD;; Sorry about that. D: </3
And hmm, I'll take a look at some of the titles you've mentioned then. :3 Although, what do you mean that it's preferable to have some background information on the stories? =O As in, on the stories themselves, or what the stories were based on, or background information on the author of said stories? ^^;; Not sure what you mean exactly. xDD;; Anyhows, like I said, I'll look into them when I find the time. =P <3<3
And I know, right? D: They turn you off right away because they're so... long and ugly and unappealing to look at in general. >.>;; </3
LOLZ! xDD;; So... you mean to tell me that your new strategy worked somehow, but it didn't work enough...? 8DD;; Or, I dunno, I'm just confuzzled. xDD;; But oohh, what book are you reading right now anyway? :3 <3<3
And yes! That is very true. xDD;; You do need to be a little strange to teach something strange, after all, else the strangeness of the topic loses its, umm, strangeness. xDD;; <3<3
That's good then. ^^ <3<3
And yes, it definitely is much more cruel nowadays. >.>;; Back then, things seemed so much simpler indeed. @;; But, I do love the modern world though, as much as I think it would be fun and awesome to have been born earlier, lolz. xDD;;
And hmm, that's very true. =O <3<3
I don't really get your referencing to Disney movies though...? xDD;;
And that's very true again. ^^;;
*sigh*
It's so hard to distinguish what's moral and what's not nowadays. D: </3 Part of the world's newfound complexity, I believe. >.>;; Especially since we severely lack people who study these sorts of things nowadays. At least, as compared to the olden times when philosophers and other thinkers were abound. ^^;;
Yeah, I think it was required. xDD;; It was required for us, actually, but only the most basics were required. >.>;; We focused more on other stuff, actually. ^^;; Even though I hardly remember anything we learned from home economics at all... >.>;; Lololz. 8DD;;
And lolz, to each her own then, in this case...? 8DD;;
And yes, definitely. ^^;; It's both a funny and embarrassing thing to look back on though, if you think about it. xDD;; But I think that's the whole appeal of looking back on your childhood in the first place though. =P
And hmm, maybe you met us at the same time? =O Or, you met her a little earlier, and then I met you through her, and, yeah, things just started from there...? xDD;; I really don't remember the details, but I remember that I just sorta squeezed my way into, like, Seisei's and Roachi's circle of friends when I was new, LOLZ. ^^;;
Btw, I see. =O But awws, I wish I knew though, since it would have made you happy if I had greeted you. =P <3<3 I like making people happy~ ^^
And lolz! xDD;; Tell me what you think of it when you do get around to reading it then. 8DD;;
LOLZ, I figured as much. xDD;; <3<3
The internet is indeed a very big distraction when it comes to studies... 8DD;;
Not that I mind this sort of distraction though... >.>;;
Lololz. ^^;;
And, well, yeah, I guess? xDD;; Or, I'm just really lazy in general, so even if I'm just sitting around and someone asks me to do something, I still say, "Wait a moment!" while I prepare myself to stand up and all. 8DDD;;
And hmm... a quirk is kinda like a funny and/or unique habit of a person? 8DD;; That's how I define it, at least. ^^;;
LOLZ. True, true. xDD;; But, I never actually defined my inability to use the journals as "collecting" them. 8DD;; So, there's a big difference. =P
And OMG! I collect my old sketchbooks as well! =O My earliest one was when I was around 10 years old, so, that was... almost 9 years ago? xDD;; I like browsing through them to see how much I've improved since then. ^^;; It makes me feel better about my slow progress, I guess...? 8DD;;
And YES, maybe that's it...? xDD;; I just like to think that we're just very creative in our thought-process as part of being artists...? ^^;;
And ohh, I see, I see. =O I do that with movies and books a lot, especially if I'm contemplating on watching/reading said things mentioned. xDD;;
LOLOLZ. 8DD;; Lazy butt! =P Joke! But really, there's no real rush to find Snapple anyway. 8DD;;
Yeah, sucks right? :x
And oohh, I see, I see. =O I always alarm 30 minutes earlier to the real time I should wake up, since I like to roll around in bed for around 30 or so minutes before I actually stand up, LOLZ. xDD;;
I see then. =P
And yeah, our textwalls are definitely too long and lazy-inducing (lulz? xDD) to edit. D: </3
It's okay, we've got quite a bit of topics flowing from these textwalls, haha. XDD;;
Mm.. I guess background information on Russian culture? It's not like it affects the reading too much though, like you don't really have anything to lose, but some part of the story might be more meaningful(?) with a bit of that knowledge? as with anything that's been translated, really, haha. >O>
I think it's more that with the font so tiny and words so close together, it's really easy for me to lose my place and read several things like, three times over before I finally move onto the next paragraph or section. XD;;
Umm... I guess I'm saying that the plan sort of worked, as far as getting me to sleep by a certain time is concerned; but it didn't work out so well when the book got to a really good part so that added a bit of time.. but I still got to sleep earlier than usual! XD The book was The Legacy by R.A.Salvatore, from the Legend of Drizzt series. I finished it last night, so now I'm starting on the next book, Siege of Darkness. >w>
Haha, well, teachers of uncommon topics don't necessarily have to be a little strange, that is to say, uncommon doesn't necessarily mean strange. Strange seems to carry a sense of 'quirkiness' to me, haha~ But then, does strange just mean, as a general term, anything that's not normal or average or usual?
I've thought about what it might have been like if I'd been born in a different time, haha~ I dunno, it seems fun and awesome, but I think I still like our time more. XDD
Oh, because in quite a few of the Disney movies, families are made up of characters that aren't necessarily blood-related. For one of the more obvious examples, the movie Lilo & Stitch. XD
Yeah, a lot of people are either stuck with day-to-day routines, or simply don't feel the want to think and question. 8<
Expected, I think, if those basics weren't put to use very often, haha~ XD
I wish my high school had a home ec class, I'd definitely take it, knowing its importance later in life, haha. My mom told me that she had home ec starting in middle school, and high school is when they start separating into which fields of education they'd focus on, to prepare for college.
Quite, haha, the big differences (and similarities) between child-me and current-me are amazing things to look back on. XD
Oh, haha, then maybe I met you through Seito, which is quite possible, really. XD I haven't talked with her in a really long time though. D8;;
It's okay, haha~ It was nice enough for you to give me belated greetings. X'3 <3
Alright~ I might need some sort of reminder then though. XD
Haha, of course, I don't mind the distraction of the internet, my grades might mind though. XDD
Haha, I see, I see. XDD
Hmm.. so it'd be more of a specified personality trait then, haha. XD
Haha~ XD
*thinks* Wow.. I think, the earliest time I had my own sketchbook was in high school, which would be 6 years ago? 8O; Before then, I guess I just drew on separate sheets of paper that I didn't always keep in one place, haha. I never really seriously got into drawing until about 7th or 8th grade. @ And well, you can think of your current slow progress to mean you're getting that much closer to greatness! 8DD
I guess? XD Would intuitive go along with being creative? Or are they sort of separate things? 8O
Haha~ Any movies or books that have caught your interest recently? XD
And oh, haha, a short time after I had posted that, it started raining again. XD;;; And today's supposed to have 50% chance of rain. >o> I see lots of clouds, but also a lot of blue in the sky. 8'O
Haha, I set two alarms, about 40 minutes from each other, but still roll around and put it off for like an hour until I finally get out of bed. XDD;; But that's a good idea, I should do that when the semester starts. XD
Lazy-inducing, that's such a good word/phrase now, haha~ XDD
Lolz, that's true. xDD;; And at the rate we're going, we won't be running out of topics anytime soon. xDD;; <3<3
And ohh, I see, I see. =O I get your point though. :3 I might have to know a bit about Russian culture then, since as someone who really loves symbolisms and the like, I wouldn't want to miss out on any double meanings and stuff because of my ignorance. ^^;;
YES! Exactly. D: Especially when I'm sleepy and unable to focus as well. @;; There was even one time when I spent 10 minutes reading the same sentence over and over again. >.>;; For some reason, I couldn't understand what the sentence meant, even if it was just a simple basic one. 8DD;;
Well, that's at least an accomplishment of sorts then? 8DD;; <3<3
And ohh, I've never heard of that book, or that series for that matter. ^^;; Is it any good? =O <3<3
And what I meant by that was that if you're the boring type of person, like, someone who just sticks too close to the textbooks and stuff, I guess, then it'll be harder to relate the strange and interesting subject to your class. ^^;; My definition of strange here being close to quirky, I guess...? 8DD;;
And I guess I would have liked to have been born during the medieval or Renaissance time, just so I could wear those really pretty dresses. *__* Lolz. xDD;; But yeah, I don't think I can live there though, seeing as I appreciate technology too much. 8DD;;
Ohh, I see, I see. =O Well, that's true, I guess. xDD;; Pseudo-families formed through adventures are always a classic in Disney and even fantasy, I guess. ^^;; And sci-fi. =O Or... yeah, you get my point. xDD;;
And yes! That's so true. :x I don;t understand why people who don't like to question just go with the flow, but end up complaining and/or not caring and not doing anything about it. :x I mean, especially if it DOES bother them, but they just accept it as something they inevitably can't change. >.>;; </3
LOLZ. xDD;; Well, in my case they aren't. >.>;; But, umm, I guess I still sorta remember them...? 8DD;;
Do you? =O
Ohh, really? =O For us, it's all required, being all girls and all, so, we had no choice in the matter. >.>;; I envy you and your mom though for having a choice. x_x;; </3 Lolz. xDD;;
Yes, I would imagine that the difference and similarities must be amazing. =P <3<3 Reminiscing is always a pleasure in that case. xDD;; <3<3
Yeah, maybe? =O Because, we already knew each other in my quest thread, so I must have met you earlier than that, right? =O I can't imagine where though, in all honesty... ^^;; And Seisei's pretty active again in her quest thread. =O You can go and visit her there...? 8DD;; <3<3
Being on time still would have been nice though. ^^;; <3<3
Lolz, I'll TRY to remind you in a couple months time then. xDD;; Although, I don't think you can trust me enough for something like that, since, umm, I think I've already mentioned my bad memory before. ^^;;
And pfft, grades are non-living, and shouldn't mind. xDD;; If you don't mind, then that's all right. 8DD;;
If you parents mind though, then that's a different story...? xDDD;;
Oohh, I see, I see. =O I've always been a doodler as a kid, so, I guess my parents got me a sketchbook early on once they realized that. xDD;; I also have SOME pieces of paper from my old drawings, but for the life of me, I can't remember where they are right now. >.>;;
And yeah, I guess...? D: I'll be an old woman by the time I think I get to greatness though. xDD;;
And hmm... they could, but I'm not sure if it directly applies in this case. xDD;; <3<3
And hmm... I wanna read the Chronicles of Narnia, actually, since I feel the need to know my classics. xDD;; Well, classics that won't bore me with their long-ness (lulz, sorry, word block xDD), at least. ^^;;
LOLZ. xDD;; Awws, too bad then. :x
And wait, so they're nice fluffy clouds? o_O;; Or weird dark ones? :x
30 minutes is the minimum for me, but I think I'm forcing my body clock to be awake after 30 minutes, just so I can actually get stuff done on time. xDD;; Especially since waking up isn't the end of my morning ordeal... >.>;;
Lolz, it's funny and silly...? xDD;; <3<3
Don't even know where that term came from, honestly. ^^;;
Yeah, I hate when that happens, especially if I'm just focusing on simply getting the reading done. I don't really care much if I don't understand it, I just want to get the reading over with. XD;;
Ah, and I lied. I didn't realize it until about 15-20 pages into it that I accidentally skipped a book, so right now I'm reading Starless Night, not Siege of Darkness, and I've already spoiled a couple things for myself. XD;; Anywhos~ Mm.. if you like fantasy books with lots of battles and such in it, it's a great series, haha~ But I find there's a lot of valuable stuff to learn from each book, with the development of the main character Drizzt, about good morals and ways of viewing the world and stuff. owo I'm into the.. 8th? book of the series now, so I'd say it's good. X'D <3
Ahh, I understand, haha~
And probably the better general state of hygiene in today's world. XDD
Haha~ XD
Especially when it bothers people, heh. They probably go as far as to question why things are that way, but most don't continue with the thinking process from there and just accept things as they are. Some others would probably think further to try to find ways to change things for the better, but, like you said, they'd come to believe that the way things currently are just can't be changed. o^o
I never learned sewing or other basics home ec stuff, we never had home ec at my private schools, though I often think we should have. XD;; So I've always had to learn and still have to learn them from my parents. >o<;
My high school was all girls as well, but I guess, just from the simple fact that it's primarily a prep school, they didn't think home ec was as important as the basic subjects required for guaranteed college entry. >o>;; And home ec was a required class for both genders during my mom's time and still is, I think. XD; It's just that the home ec class is taken during middle school, while students concentrate on the various subjects tested in college entrance exams in high school, haha~
Haha, a pleasure in knowing that we've changed for the better in one way or another. XDD
Yes, cuz I remember that Roachi made your quest thread banners, right? I remember you guys talking about the banners somewhere, and I think that's what lead me to finally visit your quest thread. XD Ah, yeah, I've noticed that her quest thread's been pretty active for a while now, but a bit too active for me, for now at least, haha. XDD;
Well, now you know for next year then~? 8DD
Yes, and how we both share the bad memory trait, haha~ XDD
I fear that they mind, so then I subconsciously mind? XD;
Wah! You're encouraging distractions and thus procrastination from my studies! But I'd be a hypocrite if I said I didn't agree with your views~! XDD
Probably have to go digging through old stuff to find them, like I did with my late 'spring cleaning' in mid-May. XD I found some stuff that I drew from elementary school and it made me laugh (a cough some balls of dust). XD
But at least you'll reach it! 8DD Just kidding, haha~ I'm sure you'll achieve greatness in your art way sooner~ X'3
I'll have to think more on intuitiveness and creativeness later, haha~ XDD
I'm ashamed, I still haven't finished the Chronicles, but I do have all the books now. 8D;; I read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe first from the series, for a book report in like, 6th or 7th grade, haha~ I'll have to get to finishing them sometime, but I also bought another C.S. Lewis book sort of recently (the title slips my mind..), a short one, but undoubtedly interesting, I think.. after having read the first few pages, haha~
I think they were white and fluffy, but today proved to be sunny and hot all day, haha. XD; And having gone out today, I forgot to look for Snapple! D8;; I was thinking about going to the store on our way home, but decided not to, for some reason. DX;
What's the end of your morning ordeal? XD;
Heh, I tried setting my alarm to way earlier than I needed to be up today (to visit the museum). I kept waking up some hours before I actually needed to be awake, but I guess I could blame that on the heat, since I only had the fan on last night, instead of the air conditioning.. I ended up waking an hour and a half early, but fell back asleep without really meaning to, and woke up again to my aunt's knocking on the door. XD; So.. I'm not really sure if it's worked or not, haha. XD;;
I don't know, it just seems like a neat term, haha~
I think I may find myself using it sometime in the future. X'D
Sometimes I miss the good ol' elementary school days of throwing tennis balls and bouncy balls against the wall and being amused for the entire recess/lunch.
We'd always bounce jellyballs, or basketballs if there were none left to play with. To this day, jellyballs still strikes me as such a weird name. XD;;
