Agh. I dont knwo whats wrong with me. I felt quite good this morning, but right now... And I have one of the hardest classes to prepare to - German. ;-;
I wish my school had already ended. *sigh* I still will have stuff to stress about then, but at least thats done then.

i tried taking a German class once when i was in 5th grade (it was a real simple class) and once in 10th grade, but got really frustrated both times. I prefer French or Italian..

And, well, I have a good teacher who doesnt eat me alive for all my mistakes. the one I had previously made me fret every German class, though. They were enarly the bane of my school life. ._.

My brother self-taught Latin. C: It is very beautiful language. For a while, I thought he would teach em, too, but... Eh. ^^;
And since I have always been interested in how one language influences another, it interests on personal-level to see more similarities between it and other languages.

Yup! So much of English is directly influenced by Latin, but then you also gotta think of how much of our language is indirectly influenced by Latin, like from French, etc.

Well, English isnt really my language, but I have seen how English and German influences mine and they both are influeced by them self in a way (Wind, for example is the same thing/word in German C: ) and then by Latin... Such a intriguing "mess". C:

Latvian (I am from Latvia). C: I am learning both English and German in school. One for longer time, the other for shorter. ^^;

Well, it depends on how you translate it, I think. o3o;

"Ja vien, ja vien, raud dzenis,
koka stumbrs būtu (jel?) mazliet mīkstāks."

That would be my instant translation. So, in this shape it doesnt rhyme, but translating rhyme stuff is the hardest. Doing it like this - from a translation already - it is nearly impossible to get an original. Translation already usually is just a vague thing.

Yeah, thats true. You'd have to scour your brain for absolutely every single possible way to say it, and it's probably just a rough translation into English, anyway. lol. Thanks anyway, though.

And poems are one of those things you often translate very roughly, just keeping the main idea, not even using similar words, since its very hard to carry the meaning poetically from one language to another. I know from translating my own poems. @[email protected];
