I love horror the most.
Nothing like getting the crap scared out of ya. : D
My second favorite would be comedy.
But I don't like stupid comedies like American pie.
The kind of movies I hate the most are cheesy chick flicks.

I love comedy, and no not that lovey dovey romance comedy crap. I mean Dave Chapelle Comedy act in movie form. Yeah I have dirty tastes in comedy. ._.
I mean horror is good as long as the main hero who's fighting against whatever the evil force is makes smart witty remarks and less sexual themes would be nice but I like anything that makes me laugh.

I myself truly enjoy comedy and action.
I love the thrills and suspense of action films, the protagonist striving desprately to attain his or her goal in time, spattered with a healthy dose of comedic relief to ease the tension somewhat.
A good example was National Treasure. Wonderful action ^_^ and lovely dialog banter that I enjoyed most heartily.
"You mean... you don't know this? Wow... I have to just sit here a minute and just, take in this moment." - Riley, the beloved comic relief.

I love horror movies, especially old zombie movies... even though most of them end up being horror/comedies... a good old fashion eighties slasher film always goes down easy... while a movie like silence of the lambs (which is a combination horror/thriller with a side order of suspense, so please don't respond saying I'm wrong, that would be pointless) keeps you on the edge of your seat moment after tooth grinding moment...

I like romance and horror. I would probably choose romance as my favorite though, because horror movies often don't have a very thorough plot and that always bothers me. I like angsty, dramatic romance, not cheesy fluff. somebody has to cry, for a good reason. lol...

Animated comes in the first place for me. There's something about it that I find more enjoyable than any other movie. Maybe because the process of making it was far harder work, or maybe because of the perfectionism. When I watch an animation I can just feel the pride of the animation team. That's what makes it even more wonderful to me.
After that come Psychedelic Thrillers. I love phylosophy, and these kind of movies make you think. Not only that, but they leave an impression. And they show you a way of watching the world like youve never looked at it before. Just for a while you start believing the view, and might leave you in confusion for houres even after watching the movie. I love that =D
Edit> Something that shouldnt be missing in my list of favourite movie genres are Runaway Situations. You know, scenes were people keep running for their lives? That's some serious tension that really drags me in.

My favorite is Horror and a little bit of comedy. But I love horror I always have. The scarier the better. I love the old horror and some of the new ones. There are a lot of cheese horror out there and a few people see them and they thing that is all horror is. But it is not it has so much to offer when done correctly.

I've always liked dramas. Action is okay, but I'm a sucker for dramas. Or tragedies; those are my favorite. Pretty much anything along those lines I'm good with. I enjoy a good romance or comedy, but drama and tragedy--that's just my can of soup, if you know what I mean.
...Really, if you know what I mean. I don't think 'my can of soup' is a term people use. I might have just made that up. >_>

Above all else, Fantasy. It's tough to find a good fantasy film nowadays.. I really enjoy sci-fi movies and comedy movies as well! When I say comedy though... I don't mean Superbad or American Pie kind of comedy. As great as those films are (cough) they really don't float my boat. I get enough perverted antics from my friends in real life, I don't need it in my films as well. I recently discovered I love action-suspense films as well! Like, with the super cool car chases with explosions in ever direction, and the on-the-edge gun fights with bazookas! I love movies that can get me all riled up and super excited to see what happens next. xD It's a fantastical feeling!
I absolutely hate horror movies. D: With the killing... and the scary things... and the obligatory sex scenes... they give me nightmares! And then I'm afraid to turn of the light for a few weeks. >.>
Oh. And I hate romance films. HATEHATEHATE! I'm very... un-romantic. = u= I honestly couldn't care less about romantic films.

Horror, definitely horror. Not the mindless slasher kind, but the dark and suspenseful sort. Especially the kind that is both engaging and scary. I like good characters in whatever the genre may be.
Anyone seen the Texas Chainsaw Massacre? It's pretty sick, but it's actually a very good film. Dark, generates feelings of hopelessness and real fear with very little actual blood and gore. That's a good example of the genre.

I like unique stuff...or maybe psychological/mindraeps 8D Donnie Darko, eXistenZ, FIGHT CLUB!
Or just kickass but with good story/characters like Battle Royale, Sin City, Kill Bill, Saw... :3
I usually love anything I watch but it's this type that would stand out to me...
