Well... as for me I would say, that you have a LOT of animals. Of curse this is all related. But personally I would think that if your family already has so many animals, the a ne kitten wouldn't be a bother, especially if it's just for you. So... I don't see any problem of haveing another cat. 0_o

Wish I could get a cat. I wouldn't mind adopting an adult, I spent a lot of time volunteering at an animal shelter and some of the adults were just sweethearts. There was this one that would rub up against her cage if you were in the room, purring like mad.

The kittens were cute too, and practically box-trained themselves, which is why I like cats. Only the sick ones had trouble making it to the box.

But we can't have any indoor animals, too many people visit us that are allergic to them, even if we just have the fur on our clothes. My father is a preacher and we have bible study twice a week at our place, so we don't want to discourage anyone from coming just because there's a bit of dander in the air.

We do have a small backyard flock of chickens though, and chickens are amazing. They're adorable little chicks, then rambunctious chicken 'teenagers', and finally spunky little chicken adults. They love tomatoes too, they could demolish a cherry tomato plant in a couple of minutes, they just go nuts over them.
And they have fluffy bums! Fluff fluff fluff...

I believe you can make your mom to agree having a cat if you promise to take good care of it yourself.

To me the amount of animals you have doesn't really sound much at all, my family has always had lots of pets because we all love animals. I live in a countryside and right now we have four dogs, four cats (two of them only three months old!x3) and some chicken.. But we have had even more than that when I was younger, we had bunnies - many of them - and few sheep when I was a little. Oh, and also aquarium with many, many fish, and also two budgies. Well that's a lot, huh? xD

Edit: Oh, and when we got our kittens, they were only a week old orphans and we had to take care of them like we were their mommy, meaning we had to feed them with a pipet and all and they survived well even though they were so little then, now they are really big and healthy. ^_^ I'm sure you can take care of that kitten too.

ROFL! Thats the right answer to everything!

Hmmm... tell your mom that it will teach you how to be more responsible! That one always works!
Or print out a bunch of pictures of a black kitten's head and tape them in random places that she'll come across!

Hmm...., to me that is a lot of pet, I know many others who have a lot more that it seems like one of their parents work in a pet store and brings the animals home. You can tell your mom that it's not a lot of animals and say how you can be responsible for it and take care of it all on your own. Like you can tell her how she doesn't need to do anything for it and you do all the work, but the rewarding part is that you have your own cat that only you own and take care of. You can also convince her by helping around, mothers like it when you help around the house and it is easier to convince that way, for me it is. Be good and not cause trouble and ask her from time to time, don't ask all the time, she will get irritated and instantly decide no, I would do that is someone kept bugging me about something.
