Don't lock and say to go to the "discuss other avatar sites" thread, please. I don't wanna talk about Gaia. I really don't. This is NOT, I REPEAT, NOT A THREAD ABOUT THE GAIA ONLINE WEBSITE. This is about Menewshans doing something that irks me a little bit.

It's just that I browse around Mene a lot, sometimes I post, but I always read. Either way, there's a lot of scrolling. And well...

WHY do some of you people put a picture of your Gaia avatar in your Menewsha siggies?

I mean, this is MENEWSHA. I have never, ever in my 5 years of being on Gaia seen anyone there post a picture of their avatar from other websites in their signatures. So why do you do it here?

And please, I am far from bashing on Gaia. I love that place and I love Menewsha. But, they are two completely separate websites. I have my Gaia friends and I have my Menewsha friends. I just have to know why some of you would do something like that here. I mean, do you post your Menewsha avatar on your Gaia sig? Didn't think so.

Discuss, dammit.

Cause being rich on Gaia boosts your Menewsha rep OHLOL?!?!

I dunno really...the idea of placing your Gaia avatar in your sig is kinda dumb..there's only so many people that would recognize your avatar... o-o
But I try not to bother myself with thoughts like these.

^^ Well, I obviously can't speak from experience :3 Buuut >.> I imagine people would post an avatar from another site maybe because they're open to friends from Mene adding on Gaia? :3 I mean xD Gaia actually has a friend-ing system, so it might be the preferred way of keeping track of friends for some Menewshans? :3

Or it might be that they wanna show off the awesome-ness of their Gaia avvi on another website? >w<

If I posted my Gaia avatar here, no one would recognize it and be like "O LOL UR KIWI SEBASTIAN ON GAIA LOL NO WAI!!"

Haha, what good is being rich on Gaia when you're on Menewsha. LOLOLOL.

Maybe they just don't have anything better to put in their sig. I guess.


@Rainiy~ I still don't see the point. Some people who post here have different names on Gaia, like me. And the whole friending thing, okay, Mene doesn't have a friend system yet, but Gaia didn't have one for a while either. I think they added it in late2004-early2005 or so. What's so hard about saying, "I'm so-and-so on Gaia" to a friend on Menewsha? Why stick it in your sig for the whole world to see? XD

I've actually wondered about that before too. but I dunno, maybe some people just love their gaia avvies so much that they want to show them off on other sites? x3

Heck, I sure know I don't have anything better to place in my sig..so I add a Last.Fm chart. <_<

What I need is someone fairly new to Gaia...placing their Gaia avatar in their Mene signature... and then say, "HEY. YOU ALL MIGHT RECOGNIZE ME FROM GAIA." xD

I don't really know.
I imagine it's just to show off how rich their Gaian avatars are. Which is kind of nonsensical since this is Mene.

Hmmmm...my siggy is always so long, I could never do that...besides, I cahnge my gaia avvie WAY too much.

Maybe they want a request ref for people on Menewsha (who don't have gaia) to draw for them....maybe they want people to add them on gaia...Maybe they want people to say...."Oh you have a gaia?! Me TOO!! What's your gaian name?"

Or maybe they want to show off their gaia avatars? o3o

I mean, it's idiotic putting the actual picture of your mene avvie in a sig......

@Circa~ XDD Omg. Yes. With starter clothes and that ugly orange default ponytail hairdo. And, a last.fm is better than putting another avatar in your sig, imo. As the owner of the 15 Random thread, discovering another's music tastes is more important than how many MC's you have on Gaia.

@RoyalSquishy~ If they are asking people to draw their Gaia avatar, they could PM the artist or post it in the thread. Not everyone on Menewsha is an artist. ;3

@Winter Wind~ Well, it is funny. XD I admit, I have met people on Menewsha and asked them what their Gaian name is, and commenting their profile. But come on, that's just because I asked. XD BTW WHUTZ UR GAIA USERNAME LULZ e u e;

Actually, when I returned here after a few months' absence, I've met people who were complaining about how Menewshans are anti-Gaia. To test how true this was, I placed my Gaian avatar in my siggy.

I've seen Gaia haters in some threads, though no personal attacks. There's even one who claimed that to be a true Menewshan, they have to shed being a Gaian. XD

Anyway, the same purpose remains to this day, I'm still 'testing' this anti-Gaia thing, or how the community in Mene as a whole treats people who are Gaians as well. :3

I'll admit, I have had this same question myself actually. *blinks* I never really see the two sites as being connected, but I suppose many menewshans, like myself, originally started off as gains.

Ah well, I suppose to each their own really.

My completely honest opinion on the matter when I first saw people with gaian avi, or other sites in their sig, is that they feel that they don't want to be looked down upon in menewsha for having a low gold count so if people see there other more accomplished avis, then they feel better.

I don't really see why people would do that for, as i've never felt that other sites determine what's important on this site.

@Dystopia~ Like I said before, a lot of Menewshans already have accounts on Gaia Online, whether it's still active or they quit. But I agree with you, I hate when people say OHAYGAIAISSOMUCHBETTER and I also hate when people here say MENEISBETTERTHANGAIA. I hate those feuds. We can do without them.

Also more than half the people here, came from Gaia. Baja gets asked constantly if I'm from there. Maybe they do it so they won't be asked the same question countless times.

Basically, the reason its there is that I just joined Mene a few days ago and my signature was plain and I saw some other people with Gaia avatars in their sigs. So I put mine in my siggy too.

But, like I said, its getting replaced soon. I don't want to keep it there to show it off. I'd rather have something Menewsha-related. :3

Apparently I haven't been around Menewsha as often as you have. I've never seen a Zantarni avatar in anyone's sig. You can prove me wrong if you want to, it still doesn't change my mind.

And yes, more than half the people came from Gaia. I don't see how difficult it is to say who you are on Gaia if asked. SO WHAT IF YOU GET ASKED A LOT? Not everyone is in the same thread when you first asked. e_e Not all of us need to know.
