I guess it's because I feel more connected on Gaia, I just joined yesterday to Mene & I use Gaia more because I have decent items on there. Now you make me feel like I was advertising my items and how rich I was. -_- Which wasn't why I put it there.
I added it seeing that there are a lot of users that come from Gaia- why not say that I am from there? I didn't know I had to be limited to Mene alone and I don't expect every person to ask me "You from Gaia?"

Upon seeing/reading this thread though, I took mine out. e_e

Secondly I dislike repeating myself. And being asked "Are you the same Baja?" Over and over again, on both sites. Annoys me to no end.
There are plenty of reasons people have avatars from other sites in their signatures. Vanity, showing who they are on the other site, because they want to.
I think the real question, though is why is it so important to you?
Why should you care what someone else has in their signature? Its Their signature.

Seeing as how some people are Anti-Gaia/Anti-Mene, I say it matters. It does to me, and I'm neutral. XD And no, we don't have to complain about all non-Mene sigs. There are people who post bands photos, actors/actresses, all kinds of stuff and expresses likes and dislikes, personality, etc. But anyone can dress a Gaia avatar. It's not hard to earn gold there, and there's also TekTek. I mean, the staff also goes to great lengths to emphasize the fact that Gaia and Menewsha are completely different.

Personally, I'm not bothered by it in the least. It's a form of advertisement towards said user who is part of Menewsha and GaiaOnline. I have to agree with Baja as to why you are so concerned over it. It is their signature and they have the right to place anything (that abides to the ToS of Menewsha) in their signatures.

I'm not going to say, "stfu gtfo" because that would be rude. You do have the right to ask your question. But to answer, it is simple- Because they want to. They want to let others know who they are on another site. They want the attention from other users of both there, GaiaOnline and any other site they wish. It's not hurting anyone mentally to see an avatar from anther site. If it does, frankly, they need to get off and go outside and get fresh air.

Okay, you guys. Let's say I put "I use Google as a search engine," in my sig. The main reaction (if any) would probably be "I don't care" or "Good for you." Is anyone really going to be like "I use Google too! Let's be friends!"? Is anyone going to say, "You're stupid! Use Yahoo! instead!"? And for what reason would I put that in my sig? "Because I want to." Uh huh.

I don't see it as a big deal, unless it has rude connotations underneath, such as "Gaia is better" (or to that extent).

Then, it becomes a slight problem. Obviously, this person is insecure on here, to put such things on their sig for everyone to see. It's rude and quite immature. For goodness sake, you're on this website, aren't you? This place must have some sort of appeal or you wouldn't be here.

See, and I couldn't have said it better myself. I get the feeling that people who do it hide that they're really saying "Gaia is better", although I know that isn't always the case, the feeling that it is a possibility is always there. And I'm not against Gaia/Mene friends. I have quite a few of them myself.

Now I really want to know why no one on Gaia sigs their Menewsha sigs. Hey, everyone who's trying to contradict me, why don't you do that then? Because you don't want to? Lol.

I've been tempted to put my Gaia avatar into my sig once or twice, because I'd found a cool glitch, and I like to share those. To me, it's just like putting any other kind of pretty picture in a sig, really.

Kiwi; Well, I'm sorry that you do not respect the choice that some users who feel that they want to show off their Gaian avatars for the simple fact that they want to. =/ I guess the want to place a Gaian avatar in there signature for the simple fact they want to doesn't fly, or it doesn't comprehend the logic of doing something for the sheer fact that they want to. Interesting.

They have every right to place the Gaian avatar into their signature. Reasons are different from different users. One wanted to "test" out to see there are, indeed, many Anti-Gaia users and what to bash anyone who has a Gaian avatar into their signatures.

For example, Baja has a YouTube link to his YouTube account. "Why?" You may ask, to answer simply, because he wanted to place it in his signature for others to view his videos because he is proud of them. Same is much said for those who place their Gaian Avatars in their signature.

Now, to your example. If you placed a Google Ad, or the link to Google. why would you do that? Simple; 1) You wanted to. 2) You like the search engine. 3) It's one of the world's largest search engines on the known internet that will attract fellow Google fans or Google anti fans. But the bases of it is, you wanted to.

The mind set of wanting to may not fly with you, but it is a valued reason just as "I want to share my interested with those around me."

With this said, I'm done. I said what I wanted to and you have every right to counter/argue all you wish. But what I say is true and many very well agree with the fact. ^^

I was simply asking a question as to why people do it, because there are reasons for everything, even the dumbest questions like "Why do we breathe?" or "Why is the sky blue?" or "Why is there Sasu/Naru yaoi?" I admit, I've had urges to put my Gaia avatar in my sig too, especially after going, "I was finally able to afford this outfit!" but then I think to myself, "Why would anyone on Menewsha give a damn about my achievements on Gaia?" That's just what I think, really.

Well, I already gave my two cents on the subject, but seriously. Why is there so much anger being directed to Kiwizzle? All she did was say that she was under the impression people did it to show off their items and ask why. Whether or not you like it, a lot of people get that same impression. Quite honestly, I really couldn't care about other people and their avatars on any other sites. Heck, I don't even care on any sites myself. Those who know who I am don't need to be reminded of who I am on Gaia. They already know. :lol: :? But it almost makes me want to put my Mene avatar on all three of my main Gaia accounts now. :lol: (Not that I probably will anyway. xD)

Same here. I joined because a friend of mine who quit Gaia PMed me asking to do a joint auction with her here, but she quit Mene too before that was ever done. I'm not anti-Gaia or anything. I really hope I didn't give anyone that impression. ):
