I just drove by one of the local gas stations - it was selling gas at USD 3.62 per gallon. Ouch. :(

This really hurts me, because I commute to school every day - and since I'm a poor grad student, it's hard on my pocketbook. :P .

Are high gas prices affecting you too?

Yeah they are. They are about 3.12-3.15 by me. My family tries not to drive around as much and luckily we all work in the same area so we can carpool in to work. If nothing else the prices are leaving us with less money for other things, some of which are needed.

In the UK, it's £1.10 per litre. Which is really bad for my parents. They have to pay a high price [we have a 4x4] so they can take me to school, cause my school is nearly a mile away.

I used to drive my dad's Toyota Tundra, which is a large pick-up truck. That truck went through gas like crazy, so I'm glad I'm driving a Honda Accord during these times of high gas prices.

So that's a little over $2.2 per liter. Which would be over $3 a gallon. So, about the same as here, if I'm not stupid when it comes to Liters->Gallon.

Yes, but my dad pays for my gas because I can't afford it otherwise. I think he's just happy that I have a decent car that doesn't guzzle gas, and that I live nearby my college. But I have to drive 40 miles every week to visit my parents. If gas gets really bad, I'll have to stay at my apartment and visit every other week. It's irritating to have such gas prices. My brother has an old '91 Ford Bronco and that thing just DRINKS gas.

I hear ya. :( I usually drive to visit my parents, but they're 75 miles away. So I don't go back every week, because on top of my normal commuting, driving an additional 150 miles a week would really put a dent in my gas bills. :(

They don't have to pay such a high price. A mile isn't far to walk. :/ And a 4x4 is definately not economical.

Petrol is currently between 99.9 and 102.9p per litre where I am. :3 I'm fortunate in living close to university and the centre of town, so I don't need to drive much at all.

Yar. I have to get a job within walking distance (1 to 2 miles, otherwise I'd be disheveled for work xD) if I want to actually make anything from it, and there aren't any places hiring in the area.

Gas is hovering about $3.30 a gallon over here and boy does it hurt.

I live in an apartment with my boyfriend and drive about 50 miles A DAY to get to work and back. My parents house is a lot closer to my work than my apartment... but I'm also paying for the apartment so it's not like I can just always stay at my parent's to save the money.

Luckily I drive a smaller car (Toyota Corolla) so I get pretty good gas miles.

No, I don't have a car, and my family is well enough off to not be hurting. And it's about $3 here.

Not yet since I don't drive but they are affecting my parents...
I will be driving in the next year though and I am hoping they will decrease. So as of now I am in no rush to start driving. But 3 dollars or more per gallon is crazy!

Luckily, I don't have to deal with it just yet.
My parents on the other hand- well, they do. xD

I think $1.20 a litre here? Or something like that.
For a gallon, not sure. =/

Oh are they ever. X_x What I divvy out for my 'weekly money' which is basically gas, lunch (sometimes breakfast if I feel up for it) and random things that come up ends up running lower at the end of the week. At this rate I'll need to budget my money differently to make up for it. The whole issue disgusts me because it doesn't have to be that way.

Gas is pretty bad for us too, since my husband has to drive an hour to and from work every day, and all of my doctors' offices (I'm pregnant so I have to go to the doctors at least every other week) and all my family are an hour away. We do an insane amount of driving and our current vehicle (we have a better one, but it's in the shop) gets pretty poor mileage. However, that's also a problem for most people where we live, as we're a half hour from any real city and an hour from most the rest of civilization. Almost everyone in our town has to make a ridiculous commute just to buy groceries.

I have a Honda Accord too...luckily. Gas isn't as bad where I live. It's about $3 per gallon. I have to drive a lot though...to go to work, school, to see my boyfriend, and to shop or go to movies, the pool, etc. I have to drive for at least 25 minutes.

The government is paying for part of our gas now though right? Or else it would be even more ridiculous. I'm liking the gas prices in Venezuela though. I wish that I could walk more places, but it's just not practical for where I live.

It IS completely ridiculous. The worst thing is that gas prices will probably rise during the summer months--so it's just getting started. (As I'll be commuting 47 miles to/from work for much of the summer, and possibly school, this is more than a little worrisome.) It's about $3.45 here. XP Jumped up two days ago.

O.o; Holy cow, it's only 3.31 here and I thought that was bad -got gas today-

It's not really a big problem for me because I don't commute to college -lives there without a car- But it is a problem for my parents who are trying to help me pay for college but having to blow lots of money on gas... Thankfully, my dad's company pays for the gas in the company van he drives to and from work. But it's definitely hard on my mom, because even though she doesn't go far, she drives around town a lot.

Edit:
Also, my mom doesn't have a fuel efficient car because she can't afford to get one v.v;

If I felt like getting my license (I could have a while back if I wanted), then it definately would. San Francisco has the highest prices in the US according to a recent survey that i'm still trying to find (heard on radio) and I live kinda close to SF. We're usually above 3.40 right now and i've seen it as high as 3.87 where I live.

This is why I love public transportation. :]

It's nice when you have public transportation within easy access. Where I live, you pretty much have to have a car to really get anywhere. All of our public transportation is limited -.-;

Gas keeps raising rapidly it's getting ridiculous - it makes me happy that I don't drive and don't have to deal with it myself but it makes me feel bad for the people that drive me around (My friends, mom, and boyfriend) because I offer to pay gas money and every single one of them refuses. I wish that they would just stop rising though - even if that means leveling at this price - it's better than it rising.

My family got a new BMW 328 and its not as great as a hybrid or anything, but it's certainly better than what my dad's driving.

I go to school downtown (but my parent's live in the suburbs which is like a 25min drive) so I live at home and commute. I'm too much of a baby to drive to school myself so my mom has a person who takes all my siblings to school (my mom's getting old and sometimes forgets when to send/pick us up). That way, Gas isn't such a big deal, I live on a credit card that my mom pays for but I use it extremely sparingly because she'll ask about the items on the statement every month lol.

As for gas prices, the closer we get to downtown the higher the prices go, I saw one on the weekend for 3.99 a gallon, not sure what type but hell thats alot! Supposedly summer's going to be reaching all time highs =.=
