Short Story
The Meeting
Ocean waves exceed from the sand as a beautiful girl lay in the flesh huddled like a fetus in the womb. All she could feel was the ice cold water path a crossed her body like a rock on the shore. She did not want to move but her body could not help but shiver from the cold, icy waves.
In the distance a tall man stood looking across the darkened ocean. The light of the moon made the ocean appear like stars in the night sky. Each crash of the wave was a symphony of angels singing and as the man stood closing his eyes all he could picture was a beautiful girl he just met only hours ago. His mind dwindling into sexual deviant thoughts but it was clouded by a single scream. A scream so pitched that it made him cringe from it. Finally it ended and all he could do was stand there as his narrow blue eyes widen more as to what that sound was.
His mind raced as he picked up his black leather jacket from the sand and quickly brushed it off. He stared both directions until he noticed a small bump in the sand in the distance. His heart pounded as he raced across the sand. The sand flung in all directions has his boots heavily banged into the sand. His long wavy blonde hair flew like hard wind was blowing but it only a slight breeze that night. The speed he was going was clearly unnatural and moments latter he was next to the naked woman that lay in the sand being pelted by the ocean waves.
Pulling her from the water he wrapped her up in his leather jacket. He took her closer to the trees were he was able to determine whether she was dead or not. He checked her pulse by grabbing her wrist and felt a slight heart beat. Sighing in relief the man picked her up and quickly carried her towards his vehicle on the out skirts of the shore. Placing her in the back seat he noticed her pale skin and beautiful red hair, almost as red as roses. He could not help but blush at her beauty, even if she was nearly on her deathbed.
He realized at that moment how long he was staring at her because her eyes widen with an expression of confusion. She wanted to scream but a calming face came over her. Her large black eyes pierced his very pale blue eyes and all he could do was stare. She something he never seen before and all he could think was that she was some sea goddess coming to whisk him into a world of fantasy. He only could hope as she picked up her frail arm and placed her thin pale hands onto his tanned skin.
All he could do was close his eyes and as he felt her hand on his face. Her skin felt like silk and it made him so hot inside. Moments most have passed because she smiled and said, “Who are you?” Her voice sounded like angels and all he could do was sigh and stare away. She was way to beautiful but she stared at him anyway with curiosity on her face.
He coughed and said in a rough deep voice, “I am Edward and I just happen to find you nearly dead on the beach. Are you okay?” He stated with a slight concern on his face and in his voice.
She slightly giggled and said, “I am fine know that I am with you.” She inclined her head, as her body heat seems to be quickly returning to her. She almost felt hot to the touch and he had to drop her hand before his skin burned. Her hair began to turn to fire nearly setting his car on fire and all he could do was walk backwards in fear or in surprise. He could not choose which emotion he felt most. He stared at her as she floated out of his care and came down on the beach. Her skin was still pale but her veins could be seen pumping what appears to be lava of some sort.
Edward stared in disbelief and all he could do was gasp as large fire like wings exploded from her back and her eyes as black as midnight began to turn a deep red. She giggled again but this time her voice was godly and loud. The trees surrounding the car turned to ash but he only felt the warmth of her giggle. It was as if she was protecting him from her own strength and power. She spoke and her voice was still sweet and mellow, “For saving the goddess of the sun, you shell me mine forever.” With that she embraced him turning him into pure ash. All he felt was her touch as he body slowly flaked away into the nightly sky as the sun began to rise behind them. All he felt was pure bliss as the young goddess kissed him a deathly dream and his spirited caressed her body.
A giggle could be heard as her body vanished into the morning sun and the ashes of Edward scattered around like leaves on a windy morning. All that was left was another lump in the sand as a young girl frozen by the waves awaits her knight in shining armor to save her again.
