Yeys, the Birthday Massacre. <3

I think sketching with pencil and actual paper might help you a little. I'm not sure if you're using a mouse or tablet or what to draw with, but if you have a tablet, and want to sketch with that, maybe a brush with lighter opacity and a sketchier feel to it. Your lines are a bit too solid and harsh for them to be that sketchy and rough. Solid black like that is a bit better for smooth lineart.
It also seems like you're trying to stylize the portraits of the people, but in doing that, they're not so recognizable. Maybe if you start by just trying to draw them as they are, ignoring any anime etc. influences until you have the likeness down more. And in general just study human anatomy some more, and maybe concentrate on lines before moving on to colouring.

I don't want to be a huge downer or anything, just trying to help. <3

Yes, I was using a tablet. But unfortunately I couldn't change the settings because I draw on an 'Oekaki' site, instead of a program.

However, I do think you have some good advice there.

Ah, oekaki.
Hrm, I think there are free programs like GIMP or early version of Open Canvas that have opacity settings you can use to do softer sketching with? There are some cheaper smaller versions of of Photoshop and Painter and such like 'elements' or 'essentials' or whatever, but I'm not sure about those.
Maybe drawing larger would help? Cause even with only a thick, solid brush, larger sometimes helps. Sometimes I sketch in MS Paint like that. xD;;

I have like a bunch of sketchbooks full of my earlier crap, and I spent years just sketching before I got to be any real good, so I strongly believe in the power of the sketchbook and pencil. xD;; I just prefer pencils to sketch with. My tablet feels too smooth, not enough friction. However pencils don't come with a fucking undo button. How I wish they did. </3
