Lee laughed at the silliness of the question then realized it might be obvious to others but apparently not obvious to her so he quited down. He took a deep breath and moved her head onto his chest putting a blanket over her body.

" I thought it was obvious. Ellery you know how I said I was a vampire. Well my body doesn't pump any warm blood in my system anymore. So my whole body is cold. Its actually not notable to one such as myself. But its nice when its freezing outside. . . I don't ever need a coat." He smiled at her and thought for a moment.

"Whats your favorite flower?" He asked with a hidden smirk on his face.

Laying her head on Lee's chest, Ellery smiled.
Even though it was cold, there was breathing, and his voice of course.. A heartbeat however, was indeed absent.

"I love sunflowers," she said smiling.

She slowly wrapped her left arm over Lee's chest.
She had another question, and maybe, this one would have a really good answer.

"Why do you like me so much?"

Lee looked at her with the question she had asked him in surprise. He thought about this for longer then a few moments, debating on if he should tell her or not and took a deep breath.

"That might be difficult to explain. . ." he slowed down his sentence and thought about his next words carefully. He took another deep breath and begin again.

"Let me tell you a little bit about my past first. I was born in London. I was normal just like everyone else. I had a mother, father, and even a younger brother. I was happy. Then one day I was walking with my mother and father near to meet my future feonsia ( cant spell!)for the first time. My parents you see arranged a marriage for me since I couldnt find a woman of my own. That didn't bother me as much as people in this age would have been and I was weirdly eager to meet this mystery woman but my parents got us lost.

We were lost for what seemed like hours but ended up in this long alleyway. After that things are a blank. It wasn't until days later did I find out we had accidentally been heading toward a vampire layout with newly born vampires on a rampage. I was somehow left alive, or alive as you would call this. . . but the same could not be said about my parents. I freaked out and went home to my brother. It was when I returned home I had found that I, as a new born vampire and unaware of what I was doing had killed my brother when I was first turned.

Eventually after years of self loathing for my brothers death did I meet up with the Volturi. They took me in and taught me the ways of the vampire, seeing as I had use of them. And everything was fine until about 50 years later. I met a girl with the most lushish scent. It drawled me to her. I wanted this girl. I wanted her. . . and her blood. And thats what I did. I stocked her every where she went and I enjoyed watching fear radiating off of her. Then without thinking I drank every pint of her blood she had when she was alone going to her fathers house.

It wasn't until the days after I had killed her that I felt remorse for the first time for killing a human. My heart ached. And thats unusual for a vampire since we don't have a heartbeat. After over 60 of my heart feeling broken I felt I needed to leave the Volturi.

Later did I find out with research that the woman I had killed had a meaning. The reason I was so drawn to her was not because her blood sang to me. . . But because her soul sang to me. She was my soul mate. She was my other half in every way. . . and I killed her for a quick meal." He stopped there at the end of his story and stared blankly at the ceiling. He looked deep in thought and didn't move at all.

Ellery was quite as she listened to Lee. His voice was smooth as she heard it through his chest, and as it came out.

He had killed his soul mate.. That was terrible.
Ellery had been playing with his shirt during his story. And since it was a button-up shirt, occasionally, one of her fingers would slip in between the buttons and graze over his chest.
When he was done, she thought for a moment, for the only logical explanation.

"So," she began. "Are you saying that.. I am your new soul mate?"

Pushing her body up, she looked down on him.
This was crazy. She was his soul mate..
And she couldn't lie, she did feel quite intrigued with him.

Leaning down, her face was inches from his.
His eyes burned into her own, and then she could feel the pressure between them..
"I have another question," she whispered.
"Do you want to kiss me..?"

Lee got out of his daze as the sound of Ellery saying soul mate and smiled at her. It wasn't until she asked him to kiss her that he grew concerned for her.

"This doesn't bother you that I KILLED my last soul mate?" Lee looked at her for some sort of reaction and only saw her shack her head no. He thought about this for a moment and sighed again for the hundredths time.

"I would love nothing more then to kiss you Ellery but I don't know if I have full control yet over myself. . . " Lee looked outside the window for a moment then back at Ellery with her disappointed look. He looked into her eyes and did something others would never risk. He leaned closer to Ellery's face watching her close her eyes slowly and. . .

He kissed her.

It was a quick 20 second kiss but it was a kiss. Lee's eyes shot open half way through and then lightly pushed Ellery away from his face. He waited to see Ellery's reaction and only laughed lightly to himself and smiled.

It didn't bother Ellery at all, and the fact that it didn't bothered her. But regardless, he was kissing her, and she wanted that.

After he pulled away, Ellery smiled, even though she wasn't done.
"Hey," she whined. But then what he said about self control flashed through her head.
But it didn't matter at this point, she felt dizzy and excited as those tiny butterflies filled her stomach again.
"Are you, okay," she asked laying her face next to his.
By okay, of course she meant to say,' are you going to eat me now?'. But she only laughed inwardly at that, because it did in fact seem like a silly idea.

She stared up at the ceiling now, her smile still alive.
This was good, it was okay. She liked this feeling. She liked Lee's polite, and honest disposition.

Lee looked at Ellery for a moment. His eyes he could feel were shifting into a blood red. He started to panic a bit at the reaction of his body to Ellery. He didn't show his struggle to Ellery and slowly smiled to her.

"I'm fine dear Ellery. But do you mind if I step outside for a moment" He put on a sheepishly grin and slowly begin to move from his spot on her bed. He looked at Ellery's pout and laughed for a moment then leaned to her as a reassurance.

"Ill be right back Ellery. I will not leave again unless that is what you ask of me." He then was heading for the window when he thought to himself.

'Why do I never use the door?' He thought about that for a moment then laughed to himself and placed one foot outside her room having her watch him the whole time.

Ellery needless to say, did not want Lee to leave her, but, whatever he wanted to do seemed a bit important.
Sitting up on the bed, Ellery watched Lee stepping out of the window.
"Lee," she called.
Lee immediately looked up to her, as if expecting to be scolded or something of the sort. "Be careful, okay?"
Her face was serious as Lee nodded.

Regardless of what Lee was, he seemed to have feelings, right?
No matter how many people he had, or would kill, he would still be a person with emotions and a pain tolerance.
He had an old soul mate, and now, he thought Ellery was his new one..
And anyone like him was human enough for her.

Lee walked outside and killed the closest animal he could find. He killed it quietly as to hide what he was doing to Ellery. He couldnt. . . no wouldn't have her seeing him like this. But at the same time his blood lust was to strong for him to hold out until tomorrows sundown.

He fed fast and smelt the air. Something didn't smell right but he couldnt figure out what. He looked at the animal and tried to hid it the best that he could. Then headed back to her house not caring about his face because he was a clean eater. He kept smelling the wind and began to feel uncomfortable. By the time he was at Ellery's window he looked really stressed. He didn't recognize the sent of the air but it bugged him to no end.

He walked slowly to Ellery's window and smiled when he saw Ellery looking and smiling at him. His worries vanished and he walked over to Ellery on the bed and moved to sit beside her again.

"I don't think Ill ever use your door." He said with a smile. He moved over so he would be able to hug her and was given his opening with open arms. He moved so she would get more comfortable.

"Whats your favorite color?" He said with a grin.

When Lee had left to feed, Ellery found herself thinking of it. She knew that had to be what he was up to, and she couldn't but feel a bit guilty when he got back, but still she smiled.

"My favorite color," she began. "I don't really have one, it's more like five."

Laughing a little bit, Ellery leaned her head against Lee's shoulder.

"My turn!" Sitting up, Ellery smiled down on him.
"Now you never answered my question before. Do you really think I am your soul mate?"

She had really wanted to know since he had brought that story up, because that is what he appeared to be saying. But regardless of what she was, she wasn't going to let him leave.

Lee frowned a little at her bland answer to his question but decided to move on. He liked the position they were in and smiled to himself. Then when Ellery asked him about her being his soul mate he had to giggle a little to himself. He moved around so his face was in front of his and looked deep into her eyes. Then slowly a big smile slowly appeared on his face.

"Cant you feel it? The pull?!" He looked away from her again and breathed again. He thought about what he was going to say for a moment and smiled a little less.

"I feel it. I want to protect you. I want to know you. And I've only known you for such a short time. Is that not the hinting of a true soul mate. Where the souls want to connect before the body even knows whats going on. . . " He looked into her eyes lovingly and smiled. It was at that random moment that he looked at the clock by her bed and frowned.

"You must be tired. . . It is 12. . . " Lee smiled to Ellery and waited for her reply.

Ellery listened to his words.. They were true, though she didn't quite feel the pull of which he spoke of.
However, she did understand what he meant, and now how he felt.
Maybe her wanting to be with him all day, was the pull.
Maybe that was why she couldn't get him off of her mind, and when she tried, it hurt. And maybe, that is why she felt so empty when he left her...

"I am no where near tired," she stated while smiling.

And she wasn't, especially with Lee there. She wouldn't dare go to sleep, and waste a moment closing her eyes while he ran around without her; no way!

"You are not getting rid of me that easily," she stated poking his cheek. "Nuh-uh!"

Lee had to laugh at Ellery at her words. Lee leaned a bit over and laughed as loud as he could. He tried to calm himself to as to not offend Ellery to much but he had such a hard time controlling himself. When he had composed himself enough to talk to Ellery he smiled at her and let a giggle exit his lips.

"Get ride of you?! Thats upserd!" Lee chucked a bit and tried to continue. "I would never think to get ride of you in any sort of manner. I left yesterday for the insecurity that you might not want me there in the morning and the low hunger I had. But now I don't think I physically could leave you. Only if that was wish would I even think of leaving again." Lee smiled at Ellery again and then leaned down farther into her bed so she was lying fully on her back. Ellery tried to position herself so she would be comfortable in Lee's arm and Lee got a little uncomfortable.

"I'm sorry about the stiffness of my body and how cold it is. It has never really bothered me much in the past but I would imagine that it is uncomfortable to others such as yourself. . ." Lee got a little bit of his self preservation show that he wasn't used to then sighed.

"Are you sure you do not wish for sleep. I promise I will not leave your side. . . " Lee looked at Ellery and was unsure of her answer.

Ellery shook her head again as she shifted. "I will not sleep while you are here, I am not going to risk you getting hungry and running away, and then poofing back here like nothing happened."

Turning on her side, Ellery smiled at him, "I am not going to miss a second of this. I don't like missing you."

Oh boy did she sound sappy! But it was true about the soul mate thing.. She did feel the pull, every time he left.
She didn't like it, because it hurt her..

He was her soul mate, and she understood that now.
It was unavoidable, and she liked it.
She loved it. She wanted the butterflies to stay..

Lee laughed at her enthusiasm but sighed to himself and smiled. He enjoyed the way the room went silent for a while while they just enjoyed each others company and then Lee decided they might as well ask some more questions. . . That was if Ellery was still awake.

"Ellery are you sure you don't want to sleep?" All Lee got for a response was a pout and he went back to thinking. He couldnt think of a question for a few moments then all the questions he wanted to ask all came up.

"What are your grandparents like?" He wanted to know more about who and how she grew up and knowing a little bit about her grandparents might help him. He lay there waiting for a response hoping this wasn't to much of a touchy subject then thought it was he suggested,

"IF you don't want to answer you don't have to. . . " He reassured her.

Ellery ignored Lee's remarks about answering, "They were very old, and boring. They lived in Minnesota, kind of out in the country.. I went to high school there, but I really didn't like it very much.. My grandmother was very religious, and my grand-dad was too. I dunno, there really isn't much of a story behind them.."

Ellery sat up in a sudden burst, and began to stretch and yawn, her shirt coming just above her belly button.

Putting her arms back down, she sighed, "You really aren't asking me questions that are any good. You keep going over the basic stuff..
Howabout you, what is your favorite color?"

Poking him in his rock hard abs, she giggled a bit.

Lee smiled Ellery and looked at her stretching her arms. He looked into her eyes the whole time and when she commented on this questions he frowned a bit. He thought about it for a moment to himself then spoke.

"I want to know you Ellery. I want to know everything about you. . . that sounds kindof creepy . . . but its true. And even though you think of them as "basic" I think everything about you is anything but basic. . . " He smiled at her and waited for her to respond. When he noticed that it looked like it was Ellery who was waiting for him he laughed a bit to himself.

"Sorry. . . My favorite color is purple." He smiled to himself and sat silently for a moment thinking of his next question. It took him less then a minute and he was staring at Ellery again.

"Did you have friends in Minnesota? Do you still keep in contact with them? What are they like? . . . Wait I'm sorry that was three questions. . .So make that my next three questions and you can have three next" Lee grinned at her and waited for her answer. He moved a little bit in the bed to make her more comfortable and to get her fully under the covers and started to breath in and out very slowly.

Ellery laughed a bit at Lee's favorite color; she liked purple.
As Lee pushed her under the covers, she puffed out her lip and frowned, "I still think you are trying to get rid of me.."

After a moment, she decided to answer his questions.
"I did, believe it or not have friends back there. And I have kept contact with my closest friends, but a few others I didn't really care to see. Um... The four I did keep contact with... Well, Daniel was the reason I moved down here.." Looking down for a moment, she pressed on. "My friend Beth called the other day.. I guess I should probably call her back tomorrow."

Ellery's arms were crossed under the covers,"Okay, my turn! How about the sun, now you said living with the Volturi made your skin burn? What would it do normally? And another thing, who are the Volturi?"

She knew that those weren't all of her questions, but she could pack the rest on later.

Lee smiled for a moment at the quickness of Ellery's questions then as he thought of the answers his face slowly moved into a small frown. He did not like talking about what he was to Ellery. It was a little heartbreaking to know that Ellery in one way or another would never been together . . . forever. Ellery would eventually die and Lee would wait for her to be reborn to see her once again and the thought made his face sour a bit.

"So you want to know about my sun weakness? Well most, if not all vampire actually can walk out in the sun. You see vampires don't hide from the for fear that the sun will burn their skin. Its something completely different. Our skin glows. But the Volturi live under grown. And I have lived there for over a century. And I guess my skin didn't like the lack of no sun, even the moonlight hitting upon it and it begin to become weak. My skin burns now but I'm sure that soon I will be able to walk into the sun again. . . or at least walk into the day when it rains." He thought for a moment how he would answer her other question for a moment then his face hardened.

"And as for the Volturi. . . They are kindof the protector of the Vampires secrets to the humans. They keep the order and make sure vampires keep their place and do not expose the existence of vampires. They kind of think of themselves as the guardians of the secrets and in that right they make sure the rules of vampires are followed. . . " Lee cut himself off for a moment deciding not to go any further. He didn't want to tell her what they did to those who disobeyed the rules they have made. . . or that he had broken the biggest rule of them all.

"Wow," Ellery said blankly.

It was certainly a lot of information in such a short period of time.. A whole lot.

Things seemed so complicated for vampires, no sun, no whatever..
She could only guess that they all killed humans anyway, so she couldn't say no blood.

"Things are so difficult for you," she whispered. "Aren't they?"

Pausing for a second, she decided to ask her last question, "So what about humans, are you the only person to have a human as a soul mate?"

(so sorry it's short.)

Lee looked at her for a moment and smiled a bit as she had inadvertently cheered his spirits a bit.

"I wouldn't say my life is hard. Its just. . . its complicated. . . " He stopped for a second about to explain but let it drop for the time being and decided to answer her next question.

"And as for you being the only human to have a vampire as a soul mate that could be debatable. . . There is actually a couple that has caused quite a bit of stir behind the vampire world. And has upset the Volturi quite a bit so it is quite interesting that you have said that. I had just left the Volturi when they stopped by but I know the man well. I was actually heading there when I came across you. . . His whole vampire is what we call rat killers. Though they call themselves vampire vegetarians. . . They only eat animals. . ." He thought about them for a moment and wondered if he would ever meet Edward again. . . And what his happy ending was with his soul mate.

" There is a lot that is going to chance because of those two in the vampire world." He nodded his head and then looked at Ellery.

"Is that all the questions you have for me or would you like for me to ask away?" He smiled at Ellery a little and waited for her reply.

(Its fine its short. . . I'm just sorry i haven't rped all day. . . happens i guess. . . i might head out now though for sleep but ill be back on the second i wake up! )

Ellery seemed surprised to be hearing of just one other couple, and how his family were vegetarians...
That seemed quite sweet to say the least.

"Actually," she said as she yawned. "I am getting tired.."

Laying her head on it's side, Ellery smiled at Lee who only watched her intently, "But, you have to stay right here with me, and no sleeping on the chair. I will not have my soul mate sleeping on the chair!"

Touching her fingers to his cheek, Ellery smiled.

Lee watched Ellery as she touched her fingers to his cheeks and smiled. It felt good to have someone love him. Since it had been a LONG time since that had happened he just wanted to get closer. He leaned his head in and rested his forehead next to her's. He lay there in bliss for moments then decided it was best she sleep.

"I will not be going anywhere. Sleep and I will be here in the morning." He smiled at her one last time and that was her cue for her to yawn.

He watched her begin to drift into dream world and he lay there motionless. Looking at her only sometimes so she would feel comfortable he let his mind clear. This was how most vampired sleep and he was no different. He didn't close his eyes and he never lost consciousness but he would clear his mind. And lay there. . .

[morning time]

Ellery had not dreamed that night, but if she had, she knew what it would have been of.

When she awoke, there was Lee, still beside her in all of his porcelain beauty, staring up at the ceiling.
Sitting up, Ellery yawned, and glanced over at the clock for the time. It was eight.
Ellery stretched and yawned again, looking down on Lee.
"Good morning," she said falling back into the bed.

She was surprised that he had actually stayed this time, and that he didn't run off to go kill someone. But even if he had, when he showed up, Ellery wouldn't have gvin him any trouble for it.
She probably would have ended up kissing him anyway.

Lee was laying as he was for hours staring at nothing and thinking of nothing for a long time. On occasion when Ellery would turn around in his sleep he thought of the future of them two. What would happen in the near future. Would the Volturi find him soon. How long did they have till he had to leave. And what about that strange scent he smelt in the air. To many things bothered him so he tried to kick away his thoughts all throughout the night.

When she awoke he was still in his trance. It took a moment for Lee to even realize that she was awake but when he noticed her yawn he looked over to her and smiled. He had a hard time listening to her talk since he was so hypnotized by her beauty but he heard her say good morning and returned the greeting.

"Good morning Lovely." He said to her and begin to move his body a bit since he figured she would be moving soon. He begin to sit up and get out of her bed when he noticed the sun shining high about the sky. He looked at the window in worry.

He moved to the window slowly and brought his hand out in front of him. His skin begin to turn red and glow a little but he was still unable to keep it in the sun for long before his hand burned.

He sighed to himself and then looked over to Ellery again.

"So do you have plans today?" He said with a grin.
