Verona could spend forever in silence if she wanted now..
But for some odd reason, Ezekiel was kissing her?
Why?
Instead of questioning it though, she wrapped her arms around his body. She knew he didn't want things like this, but he didn't seem as intent about pulling away like he had done before.
Her sunburn though, did protest her arms, eyes, mouth, everything.

Ezekiel realized what was ocuring (or beginning to) and he pulled away slightly. He shook his head slightly but she was just being irresitable at the moment with her stubborness.

"You silly little girl," he teased as he subconsciously sat down.

He had a coy smile at the moment as he pulled her down onto his lap and kissed her again.

(I guess this means a time skip for me..? O.o I hope so.. I think her name is Helen.. I dunno.)


A bit later, it was pitch black outside the window, and the wind howled quite loudly outside the house. The rain, did in fact pick up to the downpour it had threatened to be earlier.
And there was Helen, walking in the rain, coming upon the house quickly. As if being in a rush was unusual for the rain.

(I just left the two out, cause I dunno what to do. O.o)

Sebastian was downstairs laughing at the moment. He knew that it would happen sooner or later but he didn't know it would happen this soon. He walked to the window at that point and when he saw Helen he went out to greet her.
Ezekiel was standing by the window fully dressed. He had no idea how he'd let it happen and he felt guilty now. He loved her though and didn't want her to look so sad.

Verona was redressing herself now, almost proud in a way. She sort of won in the end.. Because mainly, she had gotten what she had intended to get. She was a bit happier to say the least, as she finished her shirt, and walked over to Ezekiel.
"I love you." She said simply.
Although, she did feel a bit bad.. She had sort of tricked him into things..

"You did trick me," he said a bit sharply. "And now you're probably going to leave me like all the other girls. It's almost always what happens." He looked almost remorseful now and he sank down onto the bed with his head bowed.

Helen could was downstairs with Sebastian now discussing what had been happening in town recently. There was an uproar about something that had ocured with the Singston family and it wasn't what Ezekiel had allegedly tried to do.

Frowning, Verona walked over to the bed, and sat down on the edge.
"I'm sorry I tricked you.. But I am not going anywhere Ezekiel, and you can count on that, I promise.."
Staring down on her toes, Verona felt so guilty now! She couldn't help wanting to cry..
But she tried her best not to, she did.
"I'm sorry.." She said again, but this time, more in a sob.

Ezekiel was a bit shocked when she sobbed. He hugged her gently and kissed the top of her head.
"It's fine," he said gently. "Just don't tell Veronica because she'd kill me. I said I'm be abstinent till marriage. You don't know how frightened I was when I woke up with you fully clothed in my room when I had a hang over."
He laughed slightly though it was out of embarrassment. He shook his head then before looking out at the stormy weather.
"But when I found out you were trust trying to see how I was I started to feel better."

Verona still cried though. Now she felt even worse for doing this to him, or with him rather.
"But that doesn't change what I did.." She said.

Verona even tried to pull away from Ezekiel a bit, but it didn't work, and as she did Ezekiel only tightened his grip around her.
Covering her face, she only cried more.
It seemed like she'd taken something important from him, though, if anything, she was the one without.

Ezekiel refused to let go of her mostly out of a fear for losing her due to the fact that she was presently crying. He started humming softly the same tune she'd had been singing, or humming (he could barely remember) by the river.

"Please don't cry," he begged. "I don't want you to be sad." He had felt her try to pull away and it had just increased his fear of her leaving now and having her there was comforting him.

"Just never do it again," he said.

"Do what!?" She snapped at him, forcing his face back, so he could see her face. "Love you!?"
That was what she was after all along. His love, his everything. She wanted to prove, that she would do anything for him. Although forcing herself on his didn't seem so sweet to her.

And she would do anything for him, even die if she had to. And she was fully prepared for it too. Just like now..

"Push me and tempt me like that," he said. "I broke a promise and now I intend to keep it. If you do tell Veronica I will never hear the end of it and she'll be angry at me and you do not know her when she's angry."

He could remember the last time she'd gotten angry and actually changed, though it wasn't from the anger. She'd almost attacked him and it would have killed him if she did. Thankfully their mother was there to stop it from happening.

She had made him break a promise.. A promise to family. Why couldn't she have just waited? It wouldn't have been that long! Why was she so selfish all the time?

Crying still, she decided opening her mouth would only hurt more people.
She wouldn't talk anymore. Never again would she ruin something of Ezekiel's. Never again.

"Oh god don't do that again," he said. "I hate it when you don't talk. It scares me and I'm already scared out of my mind."
He let go of her slightly so he could study her face. He felt more comfortable with her now, as if they'd connected in someway they couldn't if they had not gone through with it.

Shrugging slightly, Verona looked off to the side, biting her lips, trying to hold back more tears.
Again, good with pain, bad with tears.

She wouldn't say anything. No matter what he threatened to do, she wouldn't speak. Her words hurt people too much.. And especially the ones she loved.. They seemed to get the worst of things.

He could feel a guilt racing through him for actually going after her advances now. He became silent and then he heard a knock. It was Helen at the door and he motioned for him to approach. He did, though unwillingly, and she whispered something in his ear.

"I'm truly sorry to bear this news," she said after a moment, just loud enough for both of them to hear. "But your father was killed at the speech he gave yesterday and your mother seems to not be doing too well at the present moment. I'll leave you two for a while."

The door shut and Ezekiel remained there, slack jawed from shock and horror struck at the same time. He was shaking too and he sank down to the ground. It was his fault, wasn't it, his father was dead and it was his fault... and now Verona wasn't speaking.

Verona's jaw also hung now, her eyes spilling over with new tears. Now, she looked down slightly, moving to Ezekiel.
Speaking now seemed o.k.
"Ezekiel.. I'm so sorry.."
Wrapping her small arms around him, her read face lay on his should somewhat.
She also had continued her sobbing.

Though she didn't know his father very well, she knew him. And she felt so pained, to know that someone had killed him like that.. Right there in the public eye..

Ezekiel immediately latched onto Verona when she was beside him. He was in too much shock to actually cry and the guilt seemed to be intermixing with his adrenaline since it was all he could feel.
"I'm so sorry," he said. His voice cracked and he turned away from her slightly, curling into the fetal position. He hated this so much and he had no clue that his brother had any business in it.
"I need to go there," he said. Before my mother dies too."

Knowing Verona though, she wouldn't just simply allow him to turn away his embrace.
Pulling him back to her, she held on tighter this time, being careful though about his hand.

"I will be going with you." She stated simply, tracing a pattern into the floor with her fingers..
She was now though, only holding to him with one arm.
"I would like t see your mother too.. If that's okay?"

Ezekiel could not in anyway shape or form argue with her on that one. he needed support to visit his mother and most definitely to convince people in his change of character. He managed to get out of her embrace and just crawled onto the bed and lay there.
"They're going to kill me if I go back," he said. "We could try to convince them, do you think? Sebastian might help."

Getting to her feet with a sigh, Verona wiped her face several times over, the sunburn torturing her skin.
But she walked slowly to the bed, and took a place next to him.
"Maybe if you're with me, they can tell that something has happened.. After all, back home, I have a nice reputation."

Here, not so much anymore..

Ezekiel nodded slightly and motioned for her to at least sit on the bed and get more comfortable. He didn't feel like speaking now so once again it was his turn to go without speech for at least a moment.

He had pulled the sleeves down over his hands to hide them now so that the wound was no longer visible. His ego was in other words completely demolished at this point and was in great need of repair.

Silently, Verona relaxed her body next to his, laying down, and pulling him into a tight embrace.
It must be hard for him to lose his father like this..Not knowing what happened, and not being there..

Verona would not have been to distraught if her father died. They weren't close, they didn't speak, and they never looked at each other. Not unless they had a reason to.
And it was about the same for her mother, only they spoke more often.

Ezekiel shifted slightly so that he was more comfortable. Having Verona there also helped because he could easily calm down with her next to him.

He looked exhausted now and would most likely fall asleep. He was determined to go to the city tomorrow, even if he had to do charity to get there.

Stroking Ezekiel's face like she always seemed to do, Verona remained quiet as well.
He seemed tired, and it would certainly be nice for him to get some sleep.. If he needed her, she would be right where she was, and wouldn't leave him.
