Hi Bergamot, welcome! I wish I could say I have never had a Jehovah's witness knock on my door. They ALWAYS wake me up. I do agree that it's very sad though.
Are ya new to Menewsha?

Nope, I'm a Chai being confusing and testing out her mule (as shared in PM, which was lovely again! : D)
I remember a news story about a Jehovah's witness... a woman who gave birth to twins, and lost a lot of blood in the process, and it's likely if she hadn't refused a transfusion she would have lived. : ( I can kind of put myself in her shoes and imagine she must have felt that it was her time and God's will... but it's so terribly sad when you don't have those beliefs. I feel sorry for the husband and the twins.

See I just don't understand that. Regardless what you believe most religions promote life and saving it.

Or improving your chances in the next life. It's amazing, what the human mind can convince itself of. My Psychology teacher talked about people fighting on the verge of death or "knowing their time"/"giving up", as it were... and just slipping away. We don't understand much about how the mind and body interact and affect each other, but they clearly do. Extraordinarily, and, in my opinion, it's impressive without needing to pull in special powers and going wow, because it's just the way things are.

No. But I see different degrees of plausibility. :3 For instance, I'm tempted to think a Deist God (like one of our own scientists can hypothetically create a Universe in a laboratory - but it cuts off from our Universe before we have chance to observe what's going on inside) is more likely than an interventionist God(s) that actually care about what we get upto.
In practice, I'm agnostic - because we can't disprove the existence of a God (we can say, I think it's less likely, but not disprove), nor, at present, does it seem we can do anything more than theorise about the origins of the Universe, what's outside it, etc... Agnosticism isn't an "I don't know"; it's an "I think it's beyond our capability to know." I don't think we should stop striving, but I think we should admit our limitations.
My world view kind of comes round to their being different levels of relevance... ultimately, it doesn't matter what we do, but in our own smaller sphere, it does, so we should do our best to do what seems to be good to live happier lives. :3 And this way of thinking also boils down to me not minding what people believe - so long as they aren't making others uncomfortable by it, and doing no harm. There's no point in letting religious beliefs getting in the way of making friends, because hopefully people can judge a person as pretty decent regardless of their ultimate beliefs.
Edit: Did I just imagine you posted something, and reply? @[email protected] Ooh. I think I need another coffee. Either way, good night, and sleep well! I had better be going myself and getting ready for the day. : ) Work to be done!
I love Bergamot as well. My Dad has some sort of aftershave and he has trouble stopping my acting as a human cape if he puts it on before parties because it smells so. good. There's a little bottle in the shop I used to work at as well. Cold, rainy, English winter days, freezing cold because we had so central heating, but spraying a mist of bergamot and having a cup of chai. xD <33

... yea... again gypsy .... well gypsy is kind of a Romanian culture...
i have nothing with them.. but i prefer not being interested in their culture.. because these days... they should be ashame...
all the countries in the world heard about them.. and these countries consider all the Romanian people the same...
it's kinda hard for us being judged because of the countries minority .....
