Heh, my username comes from the Rocky Horror Show character rather than the colour but it's an excellent observation nonetheless. I'll make this post in magenta (which I forget is bright pink rather than purple as I sometimes think) especially =D

I do it to make people squint and ask "Is that black or not?"
Mwahaha, I'm on a vendetta to ruin Menewsha's collective perception of reality!

I started coding my posts for the gold gain, but now I like to use it so I can identify my posts quickly when scrolling down and glancing over a topic. I've only seen a few other people who use small blue font like I do.
I've been thinking about changing my font color to match my avatar more, but for now I'm sticking with blue. As a tradition.

i code my post because i like the colors and because of the gold. but i don't color it in just any color, i make the font the color of my outfit and i like to stick with darker colors because the bright colors hurt my eyes. ;_; it also looks better to me that way. i change the size smaller because it looks better as well. >_<

I normally use giant fonts in every forum, it's kinda my thing. And since I always use the same username, I guess I kinda want to stick to big fonts to be recognized. I'm using this color cause it's my favorite shade of green, and it matches my hair wonderfully XD
I sometimes like to match my font color though with my avatar scheme on other sites. But since I don't have any clothes yet, I can't really do that >_<

I don't do colors but I do normally readjust the size... I haven't been lately, and I'm not sure why, but the reason behind it is that it looks odd here to have the post font size to be the same as all the other links. I think it's important to be able to distinguish, visually, different areas on a website and if there's a lot of text it's easiest to do with font sizes.

Huh, yeah, I saw that post in question. :| But yeah, I post in size 10 because I feel like it and always have, on basically any forum of which I've been a member. There's really no rhyme or reason to it. It's mostly a habit now.

I started it at first because it helped get a little extra gold on every post, plus I like the smaller font a lot better.
Now I just enjoy the look of always coding my text the same way. As others have said before, one of the definite advantages of having a specific style you use is picking out your posts in a thread. I really have started to rely on that now.

I guess I kind of went with the crowd. Most people put some sort of coding in there posts. Especially on gaia.
In shops, hang outs, or quest threads I tend to do it to make it look more pretty and entertaining. Maybe so it will have a little pow and personality.

I just like changing the size of my text because it looks neater to me in size 10 :3
I use to use size 9, but someone told me that was too small. Now that I'm so use to size 10, size 9 looks small to me xD

1) Why do you code your posts? Is it for uniqueness, gold gain, you like pretty colors?
i do it for uniqueness, mostly. i like it when people recognize me, and my post coding is one way in which they can do that.
2) How did you decide on your post code? This question is particularly for the people who choose size alteration, but everyone can feel free to answer.
i chose colors to match my avi, usually :3

Hmm, Well at first I did this to up my gold, but now it's become a habit and because it looks pretty :3 I decided on my post color by picking a random one XD. I mean originally I was going to use another color, but I ended up with this one.

I don't code because I'm lazy. I really like the default font size anyway. If I were to change my post color I'd do green...but honestly I think I like black just as much.

I usually only code post if I want that paticular post to be read. Otherwise I don't typically bother. Sometimes if I'm creating a thread I will make the first post look nice, just because everyone has to read it. Otherwise I just leave the text looking plain and bland as this post is :]

Well, it all started on Gaia a while ago. One of the devs, Fleep, posted a journal entry about how to be a developer. It had some links to a site with tutorials on how to do coding and other fun stuff. So I got into learning all this html and BBcode and stuff and once I had memorized the basic codes, adding font colors and sizes to my posts became a way of being like "Look what I can do!", only then I realized that there were already a ton of people who could do it. v_v
But I had already gotten used to it, so it stuck.
As for the styles themselves, I use size 9 font cause I think it makes it look neater. I use the pink cause it be my favorite color. o3o
On Gaia, my post style is complicated. xD Its got Blue-Violet text, size 9, and is center aligned. Then there is an icon at the bottom and short song lyrics in the upper-left and lower-right corners. But I have TekTek's auto-format, so I don't post it myself. Otherwise I'd be too lazy to do it. xD
Oddly enough, it doesn't look cluttered. I was afraid that it would, but it looks good. The text, lyrics, and icon even color-coordinate. x_x

I started doing it for the gold gain, but now I do it because I love this color. I don't mess with the size, though. I think the default size is nice, and I know the small text is hard for some people to read.

I've always felt that it wasn't my responsibility to make sure that people either set their resolution to the proper size or go to the eyedoctor. If someone is having a hard time reading size 9 font face, there is definitely something wrong.

When I am on gaia I generally don't bother coding my posts because I just hate the lay out (post page lay out) and generally it takes me a few seconds to find where the damn thing is. Though I always manage to do it when role playing or I am in a guild.
As for why I chose the coding that I do use. Well I like the size nine font, plus I have to use it in school anyway so it just looks more natural for me. Bold I use because thats just another school thing plus I think it just makes the post stand out a tad more. And blue ... I dunno that was sorta random but it stuck.

I like the different color and sometimes I will make the font bigger to get a point across or make the post stand out. You do get a little more gold which is why there is a rule (I think it's here) that you can only use two codes at a time.

I feel that it gives a post some personality nd flavor. I'm personally more inclined to read a colored, small text.
Goldenrod is my standard color, but I like to switch it up for holidays.
The gold boost is nice, but I'd still code my tests without it.
