If you have a green background, I think it might be too much green. You know like, you don't see what you're meant to see? No one likes white-noise, but no one wants a slap of one color either. The preference depends on who gives you the grade, what looks good to them.

That's true... it was going to be just like a very light, hint of green... but maybe your right, the white just kinda looks stark to me but on the other hand I don't want it to all just blend away... It's totally fictional, no budget or anything - I love the freedom of school projects XD I've only had one project that had any kind of real requirements or budget >.<

Awww thanks kita, I just had to play with the new CI's and I never seem to use the pudeo even though I spent so much on it. That's what I meant. I hate white sometimes, because it seems to make things unfinished looking. But sometimes it works especially if it enhances something else. Contrast, you know? That's what it does in this. It works like a frame.

Your avi got nominated because its great. The pudao is a beautiful item, but its always seemed to me that it would be hard to make it work in an avatar. When I see them used, its usually in wonderful avatars. Your way is like "I WILL FUCK YOU UP!" which is always awesome. :lol:

Meh maybe someday if I ever get some REALLY rich clients I'll get to do something equally as cool. I think some commercial spaces, like clubs and specialty restaurants / hotels would be something with a massive budget and creative freedom. Hopefully I'll get to do some stuff like that >.<
It IS hard to get to work. Color wise there not many lilac and navy stuff, but I still use it even though I have no navy in my invo XP. I do try to go with a sinister theme so it works. I think it's because I'm so non confrontational in real life, that I feel the need to have a violent avi.

I wouldn't want to do commercial work. Its just so...I don't know how to describe it, like most things in the business world seem all the same. If I did commercial work, it would have to be for someplace/someone kind of eccentric. :/

I dunno, like you said it would depend on the place. I'm not really a fan of clean cut contemporary, in the office or the home, it's just so cold. I hope I never get a client that only wants that and has NO imagination. I would love to do some kind of crazy las vegas type theme hotel or something though. I'd be able to do stuff in there no one could ever really live with. But I do think I would overall prefer residential, I would like to feel like I was improving someones life by making a beautiful and functional space.

To be honest cookie - cutter stuff is rarely done by a real designer. Most of it is just done between the contractor and maybe the company has one designer, and thats just something neutral that will "sell well" ie back drop only- no imagination. Most of the stories I hear in class from my teachers have really eccentric / artistic clients. This ONE oh I would LOVE to work for someone like this: she was like Edwardian Lady- bought historic close at auction and made her own era-style hats and had tons of historic pieces: like salvaged leaded glass windows and a cast iron gate she had work them in - my teacher got to go on a 2 - month "shopping trip" with her in several countries of Europe - that's like a dream assignment :drool:

I'm not so sure that's what I want to do anymore. I've been thinking lately that if I would get a client and they had completely different style and taste than me, and I thought what they wanted to do would look awful, but they still wanted it done...I mean, I don't think I could keep my mouth shut, but its their money and their space, so how can I really have the right to say "No that sucks." You know? I still love design and watch/read things about it, but for a while now, I've been thinking about getting into teaching. Or something in writing. I don't know. My therapist said I'm going through a "transitional phase". >_>;;
