yes and no. I would like to leave retail and get paid for my design, but I really like a lot of my classes, I think I might stay in school very part time continually. Plus I also was going to really try for house flipping, so I wouldn't really have "clients" asking for something specific. Besides I can generally say "That looks good together" even if it's a color and a style that I hate. I don't LIKE it, but the objects due suit each other... I guess is a way to put it.
I could never have the patientice to be a teacher, and here in oregon we have like neg teaching jobs. But looking at the big picture I could see how that would be eminsly rewarding, and kids CAN be really cool.
What age group would you want to teach?

Really the only job I've ever had was as a babysitter. I liked it.
Plus, you know, I've always wanted to help people, I want to make a difference in someone's life. I wanted to be a teacher when I was little and got asked the "whatcha wanna be" question. When I got older I wanted to be a psychiatrist or a lawyer, but once I realized how expensive med/law school is, I let that go. So that's when I got into fashion and interior design. :yes: But lately for the past 3 or 4 months, I've been thinking again about teaching. Like, I love to read and to learn new things...I'd like to share that with kids. And I think, if there were more nice teachers here who were concerned about their students and had a passion for the work they did, maybe the school district where I live wouldn't have one of the highest drop out rates in the state. X_x
I don't know what age group I'd like to teach. Like, I think it would be a lot of fun to teach K-3rd but I think in the long run I'd be happier teaching like Jr. High aged kids. :yes:

Yeah I'm sure more kids would appreciate more nice teachers XD I do still remember 90% of my teachers so you would be defiantly making a positive impact >.< One of my good friends out here Kristen is going to school to be a kindergarten teacher, but the math is killing her. They making her take a bunch of crazy calculus and stuff, why do you need to know that crap to teach 2+2=4?

Birdie:: Well when I was in kindergarten, it was basically games that taught us things. Its not like that anymore. Which makes me a little mad, because children need to be children before the world forces them to grow up. Learning calculus is kinda out there though.
I think I'd rather teach older kids, and be able to just teach one subject, either English-communications or history. :yes:

My brother sent me the picture and I just couldn't resist.

I know right like a kid that age will ever ask a calc related question o.O it's true kids are being pushed to learn stuff earlier and earlier, which is a little dumb because I don't remember a single thing from school that isn't immediately necessary to my daily life.
OH I did have a history teacher my sophomore year that was freaking AWESOME she told us histories like stand up comedy she was super dramatic and funny (completed with different hats for different characters!) We even did a live action trial for the Boston Massacre. Some of the students felt she was a little "out there" but it was so entertaining you couldn't help but pay attention. She defiantly made learning history way more fun the a boring dry text book.

Birdie:: Yeah, that's the kind of teacher I would want to be. Like, I'd want my students to learn the information, but I want them to have fun learning it. Because I think they would remember it better that way. Like, I still know a lot of the stuff I learned in 8th grade communication-arts class, because the teacher was awesome.

Sorry I vanished for a few days, I'm putting in a new bathroom floor and I've been getting contractual bids and estimations... and no one is taking me seriously XP but if all goes well I'm gonna have a purple bathroom floor XD
As for art, I think it's good to constantly correct and work on stuff....except for when my fixing goes wrong and it ends up looking worse :(
I think you could be that you would be a good teacher kita, just be prepared to take some INSANE requirements XD like calc XP

Mmm I'm trying to give myself a bit more freedom, like, I went for a wile where I was only drawing certain things which was stupid. Like I wouldn't let myself draw anime-style work because I wanted to make myself work on realistic drawings, but the truth is I'm good at "anime" and not nearly as good at "real". I shouldn't be annoyed that I'm a lot better at drawing cartoons, right? At least I'm good at something. XD;

Ew -shudders- I hate math! It lost me at the geometry level....strangely I rock at algebra. My theory is because there are letters involved.

I haven't really just got to doodle in a looooong time :( I think my last drawings that weren't design related was my wedding dress in my siggy >.< I'm envious, I wanna just draw some cute little cartoons. Your hair is really amazing, and I love the fluffy clouds. The wings kinda remind me of gaia but thats not necessarily a bad thing. >.<
lol I suck at everything BUT geometry, I can kinda "see" how the math works with the shape - or that's my theory? XD I kinda lucked out with that being that geometry is all you really need for design. That was like the deciding factor in Interiors of Architecture, which I also love but it requires SO many complex equation so the building stands and yeah... I don't want to be responsible for the death of a whole work force o.O

The wings....like I said, it started out as Kiyo and Shiane, and they each have angelic wings at certain times- Shiane's are white, and Kiyoshi has black ones. Anyway, I started to draw the picture as chibi versions of them (so they had chibi wings) but the picture turned into myself and my brother as chibi angels. :lol: So, actually we both have blond hair, so both of the angels should be blond, but Kiyoshi has auburn hair and so the "me" angel had auburn hair. So it actually looks like "me" when my hair was dyed that color like a year and a half ago. :XD
Anywho...the thing that makes me wary about...well many of the careers I'm interested in, is that there's usually un-simple math involved, and I hate and am not good at "advanced" math. :gonk:

Then its probably good you want to specilize in history or something, it probably will lesson your chance of having to take something like that, but you will need to have at lest 101 in a lot of cases and I still was TOTALLY lost... and I'll never need to graph a parabola ANYTIME in my life o.O

Nope, I have yet to click it, but I will soon. I've been crazy busy. x_X But it looks really lovely from this point of view.
The only reason I was still so seriously into Gaia was because I wanted to replace my hacked Horns of the Demon, but inflation got so crazy that I could never keep up. :( I'd love to have them again, but I rarely play Gaia anymore anyway. Sometimes I think I should just give all of my things away, but I just can't do it. I worked hard for those things, and my gold.

Well, y'know history or English is what I want to teach, and I'm leaning towards history because it interests me so much. :yes:
