hmm. The questions that grant points won't be posted every 5 minutes, so how about whenever a question is posted, when the points are tallied up, it would look like this:

Guitar hero - 5 points. Won page 1 and 6

so it'd be easier to keep track.

I think gold is probably an easier way for more people to participate, but if the trivia and the art were valued at say 50g/art (probably alot more) and trivia questions gave you say 20g/correct answer, you wouldnt nessicarily have to give the winners the gold, it would just be how much it would be worth in the auction.

Since im sure not everyone can make art, and some people wouldn't have time or much of a chance in the trivia, this would give everyone a more equal chance in a way?

I think this is a lovely idea, but I do have to ask...why did you pick the 15th? That is income tax day, and it's a really stressful day for a lot of people.

Ah... if the 15th is bad, maybe I should change it... I don't really know why I picked that particular day.

Guess it's not set in stone after all.

Maybe we should take a tally. All in favor of the credit system, post your next post in red! All in favor of normal gold, post your next post in blue!

I like credit. Not just cause I thought of it, but I'd rather spend my gold buying the items that the staff makes rather than the staff themselves.

Well a lot of the staff are adults so they would have those concerns. Also it's just a stressful day for the country at large, people are crabby and rushing around and their minds are on other things. Even for the younger members who don't file taxes, they could be affected by their parents E-filing on the computer and stuff.

@ Blond - Thats because people procrastinate...

^^ I did mine last month :)

@ GH - maybe if you do the week after like the 20th or something maybe it'll make them feel better after all that stress?

Yes they do, we do ours sooner as well. But most people don't. So it's not really about a judgement call, it's just about how many people will be up to a celebration and have access to the computer. I don't wanna rain on your parade, I am just pointin this out.

That being said, I would be happy to help you out GH.

Well the first thing I suggest you do if you wanna survive to see this event come off properly is not call me granny again. o.O *rolls up her sleeves just in case*

Secondly I suggest ya clearly define your goal. Decide what is realistic to accomplish and what isn't. Then delegate certain tasks to be spear headed by responsible people and then find a way to make the entire community aware of what you're planning.

*snorts* lol K...make a list of all your ideas that people are contributing. Decide on a cut off date for accepting ideas.

Look them over and decide what you can make work and what you can't. If it's too complicated it probably won't work. Choose the best that fit what you want to do and will have the most appeal to the largest number of people.

Once you figure out what you want to do, give the various tasks to people who you know will get them done.

By the way that was just deciphering what I suggested in the previous post, not telling you what you HAVE to do. I sorta read like I was being bossy. XD

Yea, I plan to filter them out. :3 I forgot to put the cut off date up there! Dx

Various people... who could I find willing to do this?

Well delegation of tasks would be like say, having one person contact the staff with your specific events and what you want them to do. Another person could be in charge of planning the game or auction or whatever you choose to do. Yet another person could be in charge of working with someone on staff to get an announcement made and wording that properly. If you give several helpers chores to do so you don't have to do it all yourself, then each person can focus on their one task and make each thing better so you aren't spreading yourself too thin.

Not quite yet. I'd rather not bug them... maybe when an AA gets on, I'll ask them to post something in the staff room.

Hmm... so get a bunch of little minions to help me out? xD

But the thing is, I REALLY doubt a forum will be dedicated to this. So it'll be spread thin already, due to the fact it'll be in one thread. @[email protected]

Oh I just thought of something else I would like to suggest too, instead of picking a specific date, what if you give them a time frame and then ask which day would work best for the majority of the staff since it is appreciation for them.

Well hon that's up to you. I would make it maybe a 2 week time period. Ruling out any days that you are busy and can't be there.

Also what I meant by spreading yourself too thin, wasn't about spreading the event out over an entire forum. What I meant was if you don't have to do every task yourself to pull off the event yourself then you won't be spreading YOURSELF too thin time wise and if you have people help you, you can make a better event. All event planners in real life have people to help them do things to make an event happen. Even on here I doubt the events are made by one person. They have several people working on different aspects of the event as a whole. See what I mean? :D

What time period would you suggest?

Yea, I caught what you meant. I thought you meant like, they would give us an entire forum like for the Valentine's event. So I was like... "Ehhhhhh...".

I wonder how I'm going to get people to help...

I can't really reccomend a time, it's your event.

Getting people to help is easy, you just ask for volunteers in the first post of this thread.
