Don't know how many replies I'm going to get since it's so late, but here goes.
So for the past few days I've been having a dull pain in my kidney. My mother's having me drink lots of water and is telling me that it's probably just a kidney stone and it'll pass. I took it into my own hands and googled it. From what I read, passing a kidney stone is painful, and I'm scared. But I don't feel a BAD pain like most people described having before hand. It's just kind of a constant ache...
Do I need to see a doctor? Should I wait and see if it goes away? What causes kidney stones?
Gah, my life has been so stressful lately that the last thing I need is medical attention Q_Q

Kidney stones are calcium deposits, and they don't know what causes them for sure. You might just have a slight kidney infection too. If you have a health food store near you, try to get some pure 100% cranberry juice. Not the Ocean Spray cocktail, that is mainly apple juice. It's about 7-8 bucks a bottle, and it tastes VILE. But it will help you immensely. It does hurt to pass a kidney stone if it's large, but it passes fairly quickly. But like I said it could just be an infection too. The cranberry juice will help with that as well.

I would suggest seeing a doctor. You can never be too sure what it is, and it is better to be safe than sorry.
Who knows, maybe the pain isn't actually coming from your kidney? o.x

I don't know anything about kidney stones, but since the pain's been there a few days, I'd go to a doctor just to make sure there's nothing wrong. It could be nothing, but I think it would be better to be safe than sorry.

Kidney stone pain is a dull ache in the lower back over the kidney, and intermittent sharp pains in the front like someone is ramming their fingers under your ribcage. It's usually the worst after you eat or drink something or move around a lot. If you want to know anything more just PM me.

I looked that up too, but I don't have any of the other symptoms. I guess it could be...
I'll definitely have to get some cranberry juice tomorrow. It's nasty, but I can deal x3
Thank you very much. I'm still scared, but it's relieving to know it could be something else.
@zo; I'm about 90% sure it's my kidney. I'll have to try and see a doctor. I can't really afford to, which is why I'm hesitant if it turns out nothings wrong.
@Dayla; It's been about two days. It hurt a little more today then yesterday, but It may just be my mind convincing me it's worse then it really is. But yes, I'll look into seeing a doctor.

You will be ok, I have had kidney stones 4 times. It's miserable for a few days and then it passes. Although if it doesn't change in about 3 more days I would go to the doctor.

Four times? So it's a common thing? My friends acted like it was a huge deal when I asked them about it...
Again, thank you very much. You're a lot more helpful then google xD

Yeah the sad news is if you get them, you are prone to getting them. The good news is they are usually years apart.

Dang. Could it just be from something I consumed though?
I go through about a liter of Vault a day, and someone told me that could be the cause..

Oh lots of caffiene? Yeah I would cut back on that til you know what's wrong. Good luck, try not to worry about it. I know it seems scary, but the pain is actually worse than what's goin on.

Hey there,
I don't know you, but I wish you well - whatever it is that's causing the pain, drinking lots of water should help. Maybe some Bladder and Kidney tea will help you :-)
Hope you'll get better soon!

It could just be a urinary tract infection. There is a symptom checker on webmd, but I don't recommend it. It lists so many things that all it will really accomplish is scaring you more.
The truth is, only a doctor can assess your symptoms and tell you what it is.
If you're not wanting to go to the doctor, then wait another day or two. Try drinking water and the mentioned cranberry juice, but NOTHING else. If you start to feel better, great. If you don't start better though, or you start to feel worse, then you need to go to the doctor a.s.a.p.
I hope you start to feel better.

If it's really worrying you, you should see a doctor about it. There's always the chance that it's nothing, but you'll definitely sleep better at night knowing that everything is alright.
I am not a doctor, but I'm pretty sure that you'll be fine. A liter of Vault a day cannot be good for you, though. Even if it's not the cause, you should probably cut back. Those things are loaded with all sorts of caffeine and sugars... >w<;;

I'm feeling a little better today. It doesn't hurt as bad, but it feels kind of swollen. I had some cranberry juice earlier this morning, so that might be what's making me feel better :3
My mom brought me a snapple so I'm drinking that now. Hopefully it doesn't make it worse >.<
Update;
Okay, I feel a pain under my ribs now. Not a constant one, but every now and then it'll hurt. It's not severe either, but it hurts a bit more then my kidney does.

Please go see a doctor!
Some things can get much worse if you wait too long with a treatment. And pain under the ribs/swollen kidneys doesn't sound good to me...
I know its a pain in the butt and you said you can't afford it - but if this gets worse, the treatment might become more expensive. Please take care!
*Is worried*

Aw, don't worry about me. It makes me feel guilty D:
I don't think it's serious enough to see a doctor, and from what I hear they'll just have me keep doing what I'm already doing, and may prescribe some medication I don't even need.
But if it still hurts by late afternoon tomorrow, I'll try to see a doctor.

Which side is it on? I've read back over it, but I didn't find anywhere that mentioned which side the pain is on. If you're having pain in the right side, it could be your appendix.
There could be a lot of things going on with you, especially since the symptoms have changed a bit.
I agree with Veelana that the treatment could be more expensive if you let it go further.
Seriously, only a doctor can diagnose you. If you don't get better by tomorrow, please go to the doctor. You could be a lot worse off if you keep putting this off.
And let us know what happens if you do go to the doctor. Not details or anything you're uncomfortable with, we just want to make sure you're okay.

It's the right side, but it's on my back, so I don't think it's my appendix.
I read that pain under the ribs is also a sign of kidney stones/infection. I know I should see a doctor, but I'd hate to have to go in there and have nothing wrong. I'll ask my mother if she can drive me if I'm not feeling better, since my car decided today was the perfect day to die on me =_=;;
I'll update you guys again tomorrow. I'm sure I'll be fine in a day or two.

Yes, please let us know!
I don't think its the appendix if it's in the back - but if there IS medication that can help, it would probably be nice to get it :-)
Stay strong! Sending some positive thoughts your way ~*~*~

Thank you Veelana <3
I'm feeling a bit better today. The pain under my ribs in gone, and the kidney pain has dulled down a bit. So, I'm gonna wait and see what happens. If it starts hurting again, my mother can take me to a doctor.
