I'm just wondering if it bothers anyone else as much as it bothers me when people put questions in their post that were asked by the op without quoting them. I know that it's against the rules, but a lot of people don't seem to know about it. Even some people who normally follow all the rules do it. It really bothers me because people who don't do it don't earn as much gold as those who do.

I know that the mods often go around and moderate people's gold when they do that, but that's such a large amount of work and there's no way they can keep on top of everyone about it. I'm not really sure what can be done about it though...maybe putting it under the general menewsha rules under spam in addition to under the general discussion guidelines? Does anyone have any other ideas about how to stop this or is it not really something you're too worried about?

Also, I wasn't sure if this should go under site feedback or community discussion. Sorry if I got it wrong.

I have to agree with you. That really does bother me. Just yesterday someone was posting all of these massive posts...and it wasn't like it was one of them, there were like 5-6 in a row and he/she (I'm not going to say who or what gender) would not stop. I even commented that it's against the rules but they said that they had 'permission' from the author to post the story....but that still doesn't mean that you don't have to put the whole fanfic in quotes...*sigh* It did bother me a little bit.

I will admit that I may have forgotten to put a few things in quotes before, but I always go back and fix it before it's reported or something...

I sometimes forget myself, but when someone tells me I go back and change it. I never saw not quoting spoons as a bad thing.

It drives me up the wall.

I will usually edit something into the first post, in size 24 red font, telling people to put spoonfeed questions in quotes, because I get sick of people ignoring this rule.

but they still take no notice.

I nearly had heart failure yesterday when I saw someone who actually was quoting them, but then I went and checked and they'd already got an unofficial warning for NOT quoting them

If you guys ever see someone NOT quoting spoonfed questions, report the post, and a moderator will come and fix it asap. <3 and then everyone will be getting the same amount of gold. Letting them get away with it is more of a problem then 'tattling' on someone.

I know it bothers me when people don't quote them, heck it bothers me that people feel the need to go question by question instead of paraphrasing like you should learn to do in school >.< but anyway, don't let them get away with it! the little red '!' will send a report. <33

[edit] my bad, it's black XD I thought it was red.

I'm not really worried about tattling on people, since they'll probably just get a warning. The reason I don't report them is because when there is one of them...there's about a million. I don't want to clog up the report system because I think that things like flaming are more important. Should I just report the first one in the thread when I see a lot of them in the same place? Or is it better to send a report for each person who did it?

If you want to do all of them more then one person would be aware of them XD But just doing the first one, and in the report say that there are others that would be fine too. (: It doesn't take too much time to quote and let people know that they are doing wrong. <3

Sometimes I forget to quote spoons, but usual I try to do so, or edit it.

What is spoon fed quoting? Is it where you use the quote button to block out the quote?

In the General discussion forum, and some in the CD as well topic makers give questions they would like to see answered. Most people copy these questions and answer them question by question.

These questions though have to be quoted with the quote tag Leaving on the answers outside the quotes.

If they are not you are bound to get a warning.

SAME.
& It bothers me so much that people don't quote spoons when it is in the rules that you have to do so. -__- It's not that I'm a strict stickler for rules; I just don't like spoons in general. XD;
I'll report the first unquoted spoons in a thread from now on. :)

I just hate answering spoons in general. In quotes or not.
I mean, the spoons are just directing the conversation. Not a freaking survey!
Posts that go:
"Do you like hamsters?
Yes, I have a hamster of my own, he's very cute.

Has this ever happened to you?
No.

Would you want to get another hamster if this happened to you?
Uhh, idk"

ARE JUST SO BORING. Especially when half the answers are just so uninteresting. "No," "Idk," etc.
If you don't have an answer for the question, just don't post it! >.<
I much prefer to see posts where the person posts on topic, and answers a few of the questions, but in a nice prose style. Not a Q&A style.
Like, for example:
"Well, that's never happened to me. But I have had hamsters before. I just love them! [etc. etc. etc.]"
That kind of post is worlds more interesting to read.

I agree Cherry. It's pretty boring to read people's yes or no answers rather than in depth discussion. I think spoons can be ok, but they're always better when they aren't all yes or no questions.

A big rant with "Has this ever happened to you?" at the end is the worst thing ever.

It also annoys me when people put "Discuss anything in this post" at the end of their thread because that's pretty self-explanatory. Redundant.

Haha, I tend to rant a little bit on Menewsha  I try not to make it too negative though...and I try to broaden the subject when I ask about it. Like instead of saying "has anyone ever called you a hippo before when you were at school?" saying "have you ever been called names and...blah blah blah" Not that anyone's called me a hippo xD.

I agree about the "discuss anything in this post" thing. It seems like it's just for extra gold rather than trying to clarify the topic.

Okay, know that I know what "spoons" are I can say I've done one or two. Most of the time I pick one question and answer it, cause most of the "spoon" topics are lame.

I shall avoid the "Spoons" now.
