I just did my first pixel today. Well, I call it a pixel, but some may say otherwise. It is not a doll or anything. It is a cherry with a piece of chocolate. If anyone can help me improve on it and show me the improved version, that would be great.

Here is the pixel:

Not bad. Better than anything I can do, doll wise. I wish I could do dolls and stuff, since I love them so much. But sadly, I can't.

When did you do this one?

rule 1: never ever save as .JPEG or .JPG
It ruins your pixel art.
Save it as a .PNG or as a .GIF

Try to shade as well, good pixel art is always shaded, just try to find a nice tutorial that will help you.

@happy: you're not happyslip from youtube, are you =0?

like said above, jpegs kill pixel art X_x and aside from shading, you can add random stars/shines to make it look all... shiny =P also your lines a a bit jagged, I would say, and sometimes it helps to go over your line art and/or color it ^^
hope that helped? and it's pretty good for your first pixel :3

Mewmew!
Giving pixeling a try, huh? ^^
It's great for your first try! You have some really good potential!

I definitely agree with the others, avoiding .jpgs is a MUST!
Always use .png, or .gif even if you'd like.
I prefer .png though :3

Your lines are clean though they aren't proportioned right.
When you're pixeling something, try looking up a picture!
It helps a lot to get an idea of how the item/thing is shaped.

As for shading, tutorials are the best.
Kawaii Hannah has some pretty nice and simple ones! ^^

Until you've perfected complex shading, just add some simple shines, like a small white streak on the upper part of the cherry to make it look like it's shining.

Hope i've helped a little!
