I eat meat and love it D: It just tastes so good. If there weren't any meat eaters, there would be an overpopulation of animals. I disagree with mass production of meat but i still believe we should all eat it. x___X But its always your choice since everyone has different opinions.

I'm a meat eater. While i do feel bad for the animals i don't really think about it when i eat it since i was raised eating meat so i still do. When i meat vegetarians, i usually just deal with them like anyone else.

I eat meat some times it freaks me out to think about what I'm acctully eatting but I figure me not eatting meat isn't going to change anything those helpless animals out there will still be slaughtered and cunsumed. I have a vegetarian friend it bums me out every now and then because I'll invite her out to dinner and there won't be anything for her to eat:(

I stopped eating meat for a long time because I really hate how meat tastes and I feel sick when there are bones or fat or tendons and how chewy meat can be.. but I became anemic because I wasn't getting enough iron/proteins that I could get from eating meat. My nutrition was really suffering without eating meat so now I eat chicken and beef but I am /extremely/ picky about the quality, cut, and seasonings. I would like to not eat any meat but I need to for a little while to get the proper nutritions.
I would never be able to be vegan because I love cheese.. XD

I'm not vegetarian, but I rarely eat meat.
The only times that I actually do are when my parents make me.
I would be vegetarian, damn near vegan, but I'm protein-deficit,
and tofu stuff is too expensive.
Although I got my parental unit to order 2 things of tofu from coop last month,
and she just put in an order to split a case with someone. : D
They made fun of me when we went to Olive Garden the other day and I at mostly vegetables. xD

There are tons of other ways to get protein besides tofu. C:
Beans, nuts, seeds, dairy (not vegan, obviously, but at least vegetarian). There are also other soy products like soymilk and fake meat made from soy, though those are on the expensive side as well.

I do eat meat. I have some for supper almost daily.
I'm definitely not vegan. I could never give up cheese and eggs and all that good stuff.
I don't actually know any vegetarians or vegans. My twin is friends with a guy who's vegan. She just cooks vegan food with their food, so everyone can eat what they like.
I don't have anything against non-meat eaters. You can eat or not eat whatever you like. That's your decision, not mine. Just don't preach to me about how animals had to die for my supper.

I eat fish and poultry, but no beef or lamb (I will occasionally have pork). I also try to eat local, organic meat... so I don't feel bad for the animals.
Edit: Haha, "lamp."

And I couldn't be vegan because I love cheese and eggs.
I respect vegans and vegetarians, because they can eat what they want to eat, it's their decision.

mmm, depending on the day I'm a vegetarian - but it's never a permanent thing.
I'd never eat something like Veal, because there just seems like there's something wrong with killing a baby anything. But I've got no qualms with eating regular beef. I don't eat pork, but I've no qualms with other parts of the pig. I love bacon and pepperoni.
I really only eat poultry on most days.
Being a vegan is stupid in my opinion. Animals were made to be of benefit to man. I don't care much for milk, but I don't think that it's unethical to continue milking a cow after it's given birth to obtain it.
And what do vegans expect we do with the unfertilized eggs that the chickens produce anyway? Or do they just object to keeping the chickens in farms? If we didn't they only thing that would happen is that foxes and wild dogs would eat them.
Being Vegan just doesn't make any sense to me.

Meat is a part of life. 9_9 The animals were put here for the soul purpose of our consumption and as part of the circle of life. It bugs me more that people don't eat meat because they pitty animals that are supposed to be eaten. If no one ate meat anymore, do you know how many deer would be pests? They'd overrun the human population causing accidents by jumping in front of cars and whatever. And those bunnies, if you don't eat them they'll eat all of your precious plants and then what would you have to eat?
I understand the people who want to eat more healthy and thus would only eat vegis, but totally taking out meat from your diet isn't good. There goes some nutrition your body needs. I only eat meat sparingly, but I savor every bit.

If we weren't meant to eat animals, then they wouldn't have been made out of food.
More seriously, I'm always impressed with people who can get the nutrition they need out of a vegetarian or vegan diet. That can be obnoxious and expensive to figure out. Personally I just like meat and feel no need to cut it out of my diet.

I respect everyone's eating choices, but I ate meat. My body likes protein and that's what I use to build muscle.
I tried being vegetarian and it was alright for a while, but my mom became concerned that I wasn't intaking any protein, and she said I looked sick =/
So I had to give that up and go back to just eating lean cut meats.

Being vegetarian is kind of unhealthy too if you are inexperienced and are the only in your family that does it. It is also dificult if your family is not supportive of you because vegetarian made foods are expensive. But it could work. :) However, I understand vegetarians more than I do vegans.
Personally, I love the vegetarian replacement foods (exp: veggie burgers, soy chicken, etc). I'm not a very picky eater. :|
|
There are true vegans -- veganism is all about what you can CONTROL, what you can CHANGE (in your life), and the CHOICES are what makes a vegan.
I cannot control the vegetables grown in manure. I have no CONTROL over that. However, you do have control in the choices you make - what you eat, what you wear, what you buy, what you do... that's what being vegan is.
Being vegetarian, or even having the typical diet can be unhealthy if you are not informed of what to do or how to do it. Families are a major key problem, but eventually, they should accept reality, and accept the child's choices. (Or parent's choices)
Vegetarian foods are usually more expensive because of the strong connection between organic foods and health. Organic foods are produced without chemicals harming the planet, and they may usually taste better than those other chemical-filled greens. Unhealthy, unsafe, and terrible for the environment for the planet. Therefore, higher quality foods = higher price.. >_<

Hehe, I came back after a couple weeks to check on this thread.
Let me tell y'all, for those who posted "circle of life", "meant to be", or some sort of other argument (pretty much everyone's in this thread) were big fallacies (flaws in debate). I chuckled a bit at those.. ^_^
Don't even need to answer those.. XD

I love meat, especially steak. When I eat any kind of meat.. I don't picture it as the actual animal. I just think of it as food. I think if I thought about cows every time I ate steak I may become sick of it.. but thats why I don't think about it. xP I like meat because it tastes good to me. I am not a fan of any seafood though. >_o
If people don't want to eat meat then thats their choice. I do think it's normal for humans to be eating meat though. Our teeth weren't made to just eat salad. :P
If I had a friend who was a vegan I don't really know if I wouldn't eat meat in front of them or not. I see friends/family eat foods that I think are gross, but I still let them eat it in front of me. I just don't watch them eat it. xD

I guess I use to be a vegetarian. .__. Why did I stop?Because I was young like 3years old and didn't like meat. To make a long story short, my dad tricked me to eating meat.-.-; And nao I luff meat and kinda hate veggies n fruits nao. x.x;
But nao, I really like meat.Well only meat I usually eat is chicken, turkey and ham.>_<; But I respect vegetarians. I have a few friends who are vegetarians and one friend who is vegan.
Yet, even tho my friends are vegetarians/vegans, I hear its can be hard because you can lack calcium and such things right?

@ Jigs;
"Our teeth weren't made to eat just salad." Notice I bolded the word salad -- vegans or vegetarians, despite most stereotypes, are not necessarily salad eaters (most I know aren't). I don't know about you, but I'm vegan, and I hate salads, and I don't remember the last time I ate it. O:
@ Dannigirl;
No, it is not hard to get calcium. People assume that vegans are always low on calcium (or vegetarians, the like) or other nutrients -- but calcium can be found in dark leafy greens, tofu made with calcium sulfate, calcium-fortified soy milk and orange juice, and many other foods commonly eaten by vegans. As well as protein, found in beans/ nuts/ soy, the only nutrient that vegans or vegetarians should be more concerned about is B12 -- which can be easy to find if eating properly.

Who doesn't eat meat?
Kitten eats meat. She however does not care for red meats; she prefers fish and chicken =3
Who is vegan?
Not Kitten. She tried just being vegetarian once and it only laste three months... then she got pregnant and she didn't want to hurt the baby by skipping out on meats.
Meat eaters, how do deal with vegetarians/vegans?
Kitten doesn't care what other people eat. She would like to not eat meat, but she needs it to breastfeed her baby and give him all the nutrition he needs. Kitten is a PETA girl so she does however belittle herself from time to time when she eats something of the meat variety... she doesn't eat marshmellows or jello still though because of the geletin factor :o
Meat eaters, do you agree/disagree, like/dislike non-meat eaters?
Not at all. Kitten is proud of them for saving the little fuzzies. She would like to join the non-fuzzie eatiners again once she is done breastfeeding =3

Oh gosh.
Years ago when I went down to visit a friend in Seattle, we ate at this University campus lunch cafeteria. It was awful! They had made the cafeteria almost vegan-exclusive, which left vegetables and some couscous. At least the chicken could have run, that little cucumber never had a chance!
I am a meat-eater. I love meat, I love fish, I love chicken, cows, deer, sheep, goats, you name it. I will eat it. I can agree with not wanting to eat meat because you disagree with the way animals are treated, that's not a problem. I don't like it, however, when the fact that I eat other animals is shoved down my throat to make me feel guilty about it. Truth is, I don't. There are always organic farms that don't coop up their cows and trim the beaks of chickens.
What I never understood was why someone would call themselves a vegetarian, but still eat fish and think it was alright.
