Hmmmm, I'm thinking it was a good thing I was so busy at work today. I've just read back what I missed and I would have laughed out loud at work and gotten in so much trouble. Lee you are too much.

It certainly is. It was most needed after the day I had at work too. Sure doesn't pay for taking days off to come back and be so far behind.

Because I already bought my presents for labor day, and it's a bitch to return things.

I really love how the people in the Howse respond to my jokes as if they were normal conversation and not the hideously inappropriate and horrifyingly disturbing remarks they really are.

Also, I will read the story now.

Not-lee - I guess we just know you well enough to know you're joking?

And thank you. :D I'm working on the second chapter now [ish]. It should be up soon.

Ferra - What kind of contest is it? I mean, what's the theme?

Yeah, I'm thinking of writing a story, too. Progress is slow though (read: nonexistent), because:
A) Lack of experience
B) Semi-lack of inspiration
C) Laziness

@ Chairy

I wish everyone did. Some people think I'm some sort of mass-murderer because of my sense of humor. That has led to some awkward moments at school, let me tell you.

Yeah, inspiration can be a huge pain. I wanted to write something for like, a month before I finally came up with and honed an idea well enough to get even something basic for my story.
And it's changed a lot since then, too. I'm still developing the idea. A lot of it depends on how my characters act, and I haven't developed them quite well enough yet to know exactly how it's going to play out. I have a general idea, though.

And don't let lack of experience stop you! Then you'll NEVER write. Just start writing. If something doesn't come out well, you can just edit it. Or totally trash it.
It REALLY helps if you've been reading. It helps you to narrate things more smoothly, y'know. You can take some inspiration from the style (but not the story of) the writer you're reading.
Like, the Twilight books have helped me A LOT for smoothing out some narration, and just general first-person-perspective stuff. Reading them so intently (and there being about 1,500 pages of it all tolled that I read TWICE in 2-3 weeks) taught me some about writing structure.

It's not stopping me, just hindering my progress. I have the basic premise for the story, I just need to flesh out the details, such as characters and setting. Those have always been my weak points when I roleplay. I guess its like when I write essays; starting is often insanely difficult, but once I've begun writing and know what I'm doing, I can write page after pager after page.

She didn't say you were getting some raep. She said you were getting pr0ns. No physical violence or sexual activity will be carried out upon your person as dictated by Cherry's statement.

fiarra - It's okay. XD I was just pulling a random name out. XD

And speaking of pronz... gah, there's a pr0nz troll in the GD. DX My poor eyes.

Lee - Generally, I find it easiest to flesh out the characters as you write, rather than beforehand. That's what I do, at least. I get just a general idea (like "he'll be a pig," "he'll be charming," "she'll be a bitch," etc.) and then just go from there. Let the characters develop themselves.
One VERY handy thing for character development that I've been doing is take some time when you've got nothing distracting you (like while showering, taking a walk, etc) and just make up a scene with your characters (that may or may not ever occur in your story) and just let them go. Let them talk, and narrate it, and just see how they want to act.
It's helped me a lot.

*wibbles* Well then I hope I can be spared the tentacles.

I briefly skimmed your story and it's a nice premise. I agree about character development. Whenever I'm thinking of ideas, I tend to come up with a skeleton of a personality then let my mind wander through scenes with the character to see how they react.

The other problem I have is that the story involves werewolves, and I'm not quite sure how to incorporate that into a modern story. Many hours of proposed ideas and contemplation lie ahead.

Also, I read the story and am definitely intrigued. The premise sounds very good and chapter one was very promising. I can't wait for the next installment.

I would also like to be informed as to what action the word wibble signifies.

It's interesting. XD We have to pick two of our characters and out them through 9 different trials in hell. The first one is extreme grief.
