Wait, where do you live if you can go around using bus passes? xD;
The only place here that has a bus is downtown. =P

Yeah, it's $13 at walmart. I can confirm that. I still have the price sticker from mine next to me.

Yay for not-Lee and his successful, if frustrating, romantic prospects!
I live in Alabama and a former boyfriend of mine lived in California. We managed to carry on a long-distance relationship (with me visiting him about twice a year) for... gosh... about six years. It can work as long as when it gets to the point where you have to make the choice, "do we want to take this a step further with someone moving closer to the other?" one of the people in the relationship doesn't, y'know, freak out. XD;
|
Brilliant, CK. XD Brilliant.
Wow, SIX years? That's got to take some huge commitment. My boyfriend and I have only made it two years thus far, but things are getting tough. But then again, we don't get to see each other twice a year, either. ;_; We've NEVER gotten to.

XD Sometimes, the way my mind works surprises even me! :D ... I didn't say it impressed me, just that it surprised me. :B
To be honest, depending on how you look at it, it could have been longer than that. >_>; I met him online when I was 15 or 16 and we had the cutesie little flirt-flirt thing where our characters were dating and we sort of said it applied to us as well, but it wasn't really the same thing as "really" dating, if you know what I mean.... Which might have got 'serious' sooner if he hadn't had a problem staying out of trouble with his parents. And his punishment was having internet privileges taken away so he had to sneak on for a year or two.
I was a senior in high school when we started getting serious about each other... and when I went to college, a boy showed interest in me and because I didn't think he was serious about me (becausehewasn't) I dumped him to go out with the college boy. We didn't speak for a good year or so because he was upset. :B
So I was 19-ish when we got together in a very 'serious' manner. That relationship lasted until I was... 24-ish. Maybe 25. I think I got to start visiting him when I was 20 or 21. (I'm kind of blurry on the exact dates because I visited him around New Years and this time of year, which is my birthday. So my age and the year change... yeah. :B )
Between daily internet contact, frequent phone contact (most days of the week once I got a good phone plan), and bi-annual two-week visits, we got to spend a lot of time together.
The problems came from the fact that he is/was very charming and I wasn't the only girl to find him appealing. And he was just needy enough to bask in that sort of female attention and not see why I'd get upset over some of it. (Like someone sending him an incredibly expensive Vash the Stampede costume. Or him visiting ex-internet girlfriends.) u_u And then his fear of commitment. Because every time I started thinking, "Yes, I'm going to marry this man." it was like he heard that thought in my head, freaked out and said we needed some distance. u_u; Not that that tended to last very long. Just a few weeks or months where I wasn't allowed to say, "I love you." or call him. XD; But very little otherwise was different (because, as I said, he liked female attention).
But I'm making it sound like we were never happy, which isn't true. It worked quite well for us. If anything, we got along much better in person than over the internet. And it did take a lot of work to keep it that way when we were apart. Lots of trust issues. I still don't know if I trusted him too much or too little, and it's hard to be objective about that. XD;
::stops rambling about this or it might discourage people:: >->;

CK - Mmm, I know all about the insecurities. My boyfriend also is a chick-magnet. XD He doesn't really crave female attention, he just craves friends. And he seems to get along best with girls. And all of his chick friends get a crush on him at some point or another. >>
He's aware of it, and he doesn't like it. But it just makes Cherry want to shoot some stupid little highschooler. D:
And, y'know, I'm insecure TO START WITH. So if he says like, some celebrity is pretty, I go in to full-on depressed mode and/or get mad at him. (Yes, Cherry is one of THOSE kinds of girlfriends. The psycho girlfriend. Yes. She knows.)
I also know what you mean about the flirty thing. Same way with me and Daniel. Before we got together, we were best friends. Talked constantly. Flirted a TON. Everyone who knew us thought we either WERE basically going out, or at least knew that we both liked each other. But we both thought "Oh, s/he's just playing around, s/he doesn't really mean it.... But I do."
He'd been brutally turned down by a few girls before, and I was just, as I said, insecure, so it took us a long time to finally admit that we liked each other. And what's weird was that he told me the EXACT DAY that I finally decided I was going to tell him.
We're psychically linked or something, I'unno.
[/self-centered babbling]
Anyway, it's good that things have worked out between you to. :D
Do you two plan on moving closer anytime soon?

Yeah, there's a lot of TLDR in there, so my reply will have nothing relating to previous posts.
So I've been webcamming it up today and I finally busted out my headset and made a voice recording. It sucks and my voice is pretty low. My therapist says it has to do with insecurities about me not wanting people to hear what I say. Anyways, you're probably gonna have to turn your speakers way up. The good news is that, unlike some people *coughcherrycough* there are no loud, surprising noises in the middle of it. However, at the end, it's a bit louder than before, so don't have it deafeningly high. Also, yes, the final bit was entirely me without any sound effects or anything. You'll find out when you listen. I'm gonna go upload it to putfile now.

Danke! It's a little raspy because my throat dries up when I know people are listening to me. Another fun little physical insecurity. The background static is the fan hitting the mic. Sorry about that.
Also, mene has been crazy for me, too. I'll probably wait until later tonight when less people are on to rack up the tokens.
