I used to play flute... I regret ever stopping once I didn't want to be in band. But I'd only rented my flute through the school year. >.< I do miss playing it.

Awww. I don't like being in band either; in fact, I quit last year after the first or second quarter. I still play flute, though. I actually won a scholarship recently. ^^

I feel the same way about the piano. I used to play it but I stopped playing it a while ago and now I don't remember how to read notes very well ...

Shygirl; I used to play piano when I was younger. I stopped because my dad was dating my teacher and I got free lessons and so when they broke up I could no longer get free lessons. xD I miss playing piano as well. I remember how to read the notes... I just can't remember how to play piano. >.<

I used to play the piano in my youth. I don't remember much of it. I didn't get very far and my memory isn't that good.

I play violin, but I plan to stop when I hit 9th grade.

It's a grocery store but also sells other stuff as well .. and has a pharmacy ... kind of like a mini-all-in-one store ... heh ...

The violin is something that I have always wanted to learn how to play. I think it sounds so peaceful as well. But I never had the money to buy one or take lessons ... Plus lessons required that you already owned a violin ... so meh ...

@Kale: That doesn't sound like a good way to end lessons. I wish I could still read the notes then maybe I could play again ... I can still play melodies with my right hand like Chopsticks or Fur Elsie .. and a few others (those are ones I played enough that I still remember the fingering for the right hand - for some reason the right hand melody was easy for me to remember) ...

Tenten; Dr. P = Dr. Pepper. I keep forgetting people don't speak the lingo I use with another friend. It's just simpler. xD

Yeah, I always have a Red Bull in the Fridge for when I feel I need the energy before work. Only downside is the crashes that ensue. >.<

Well if she managed to teach your previous teacher and you like her teachings I'm sure it'll be good enough. Remember the pupil learns from the teacher, and not only what is being taught but the teaching style as well.

Shygirl; Yeah, well I couldn't very well continue getting the lessons for free and her costs were steep.. she wasn't even that great of a teacher. >.<

It's like this: Once you start, you have to play until you're good, or all those years will be wasted. I mean, with piano, if you stop at a certain level, you're can play around that level and sound good.
With violin, it's like... you can't stop until you're really good. Otherwise, you're just... bad. .___. ;;
Eer... I don't know it's like you're good or you're bad, and there's little grey area.

That's how I've seen it, anyway. ^^;

She'd tell her experiences and we've never had a lesson where we didn't have a laughing fit at least once.

Violin- Its just like any musical instrument .. you have to practice, practice, practice ... the more practice you get the better you will get ...

I want to get into the good area .. but that will take a long time .. but I am sure its worth it in the end ^_^ I just wish I had the money to pursue it ... *sighs* ... :|

That's true... but I've found that violin is probably the hardest to get a good sound with. xP
You can have no problem with playing the notes, but if you sound bad, you sound bad. ^^;
It probably takes like decades of mastery to sound like those pretty recordings. @[email protected];;
My brother's played for about 10 years of violin, and I still think he sounds scratchy.
