I had mentioned my GED classes in here earlier, hadn't I? I think I did. I think that was here. My teacher thinks I'm ready to take the GED test, and I registered last week. I take the test on December 3rd!
I've been taking official practice tests in class, and I was a bit worried because I was scoring 410 in the math section, and 410 is the absolute lowest you can score and still pass. If you fail one section, you fail the whole test. So I was worried that I might be more nervous/tired during the real test, miss one more question than normal and fail. So I did some studying and then I took another practice test on Thursday and I went up to 590. I only missed two questions! I did really well in all the other sections too, and my overall score was 3350 or 3410 (4000). I say either because it depends on what my essay is scored as. My teacher couldn't find anything wrong with it (which would make the overall score 3410), but she's not an English teacher, so she said the official scorers might find something wrong with one like it, which would lower my score.
Anyway! Any total score (on the real test) that's over 2700 is eligible for a full one year scholarship to the community college I was planning to go to. Books, tuition and parking. I highly, highly, highly doubt I'll score under 2700. So... as long as I don't bomb on the math section, which I don't think I will now that I've done the studying, I'll pass my test and get the scholarship. :eager:
Oh wow, that's wonderful Cherry! I'm going to wait to start my classes until I know what we're doing. We might be moving sometime in the near future, so until I know what's happening, I'm waiting. :/
A full year scholarship is awesome though; I hope its the same way wherever I am when I take my test.
Cherry. This face, the face behind the computer, has a look of pride in her friend right now. That's excellent. And here you were worried about your hamstrings/ankles.
Kita - I think it's for the whole state of Missouri, but you moved out of state, didn't you? I'll ask my teacher what the proper name of the scholarship is so you can look it up and see if it's available in your state.
Biggles - Well my legs have been hurting recently... :P

What's new in everyone else's world?
hummy will say lots and lots of prayers for Cherry to kick that tests butt!
what time do you take it on december third?
you go Cherry, math will not defeat you!
Thanks, hummy!
I have to be there at 7:45 am. @[email protected] Not to mention it's nearly an hour long drive. So I have to leave my house at 7 AM... So I have to get up probably somewhere around 6 AM. 5:30 AM if I want to take a shower. Aaaaaah.
wow, that is early.
so you should start going to sleeping as early as you can a few weeks before hand so you can sleep well that night.
a friend of mine took the ged test and sailed through it.
she went in all nervous and, 'i'm gonna fail this thing.'
but she did really well and i was very proud of her.
keep up the good work!

oh, yeah and don't forget to eat a little.
nothing worse than a nervous and empty stomach making you forget about everything you know,
for the daydreaming of a mickeydee's egg mcmuffin!
Yeah, that's not a bad idea. Especially considering that I'll have to go to bed at around 8 to get something close to a full night's sleep... Yikes, that's early. @[email protected]
Yeah, I'll be having breakfast before I go, and we're allowed to bring a lunch and we can eat it whenever we want, as long as it's between sections. Luckily, I'll only be there for about 3-4 hours. I had the option of taking the test closer to me, but then I'd be forced to be there for 8 hours. Because you're allotted a certain amount of time to take each section in. At the college I'm going to, if you finish before that time is up, you can just go ahead and start the next section. At the college closer to me, if you finish early, you just have to sit and wait for the time to run out... and I know from taking practice tests in class that I can finish the test in about three hours. So I have to get up earlier, but it ends up saving me time!
Kita - You live innn... Colorado now, right? Maybe?
eight is pfretty early but if you slowly go to sleep a bit earlier every night you should be able to sleep well the night before.
oh, the one you are taking is the one everyone should take.
sitting for eight hours taking tests would give me hives!
that's good you can bring lunch and eat it when ever, in between sessions is a great asset.
no belly grumblings, that's a good thing.
Yeah! Unfortunately, most colleges have it set up so you have to sit and wait... I'm lucky that one that doesn't do that is within driving distance. The campus is sooo cool, too. It's a bunch of modern buildings all grouped together with an opening in the middle. There's this walkway from one to the other, but it's like, two stories up! I didn't have the guts to walk across it, though.
The community college I'll be attending for actual classes next year is even prettier, though.
Good luck Cherry! I would suggest taking a melatonin tablet at 5 or so. It's a chemical that your body makes naturally, so it's not weird or anything like that. Oh! And drink chamomile tea!
I REALLY hope you do well!

Wow, that's WAY nicer looking than my community college! Although we do have a wildlife park here.
I can't wait until next year, that's when I'll get to go to New College, which is my dream school!
meletonin, isn't that what we make from vitimin D or sunshine or something?
/fails.
too tired to google it too.
but Cherry if it cuts time getting to classes you'll love using it!
 We're here should you want to go into it. Otherwise, we will provide you with distractions! Like this video of a brave, tiny platypus snuffing around in the mud.
